An endless noise is piercing his ears. Over and over... Never ending errors. All he could do was stare blank at it with his lifeless eyes waiting and watching for a sign of hope he could cling onto. There was none. Not a thing. Only himself and the ‘system’ in an endless black plane which he grew so familiar with. Years.. Decades.. Centuries.. He lost count long ago, it didn’t matter to him anymore. He never felt like he needed to sleep, eat, or do anything. The only thing that plagued his mind was the never ending boredom this place brought him. Its been so long for him that he forgot how he died. All he knew was that he did die and he was in the process of reincarnation but the system decided that he wasn’t good enough for it. His thoughts were blank and he only grew more and more bored. He wanted an adventure. Something that could excite him out of his infinitely flat existence. And he got it.

Chapter 10: Goblin Domain

Dark..

Damp and dark.

The feel changed so suddenly from the classroom to the Goblin Domain. Erick's view changed in the blink of an eye. As soon as he walked through the portal, his eyes were greeted by a pitch black room.. or cave? The air was tighter as if there was no exit for miles.

"I have brought your test subjects, O Great One." The old sorcerer goblin prostrated himself on the ground with a cold sweet running down his forehead.

There was a terrifying aura being released in the area. The aura itself was so great that it moved the rocks.

Erick and his classmates were unaffected by this aura. His classmates had the excuse of being mind controlled yet Erick didn't even realize something was happening. He was too busy checking his system for the sweet new quest he had just got.

"Shit."

Then and there, before Erick could even flinch, he watched as his head tipped off his shoulders.

Thud.. thid.. thad

His head along with his body had fallen to the ground.

And then it all went black..

...

"Come find me, Erick." A girls voice reverberated through his head.

Immediately after, Erick found himself back at the Goblin Domain with his head intact.

"..ht your test subjects, O Great One." An old goblin was on the ground.

In front of Erick the system displayed a familiar quest.

Erick's pupils were dilated.

It all happened too fast for him.

"Good." A great and deep voice echoed.

"Hand over two of them to the alchemist, the rest go to the labyrinth." He commanded.

The aura was lifted and the sorcerer had felt relief. He immediately created two portals in front of the children, one on the right and one on the left.

"You two." The sorcerer pointed to the two girls that escaped his mind control previously.

"Go into this gate." He pointed at the one at the right.

"All ye rest go into the other one."

Erick forced himself to regain his composure and followed the command.

But as he was leaving into the portal he couldn't help but wonder how messed up his life was.
