One Trick Pony, Pt. 2

In the draft before his game with MiyuKing, WiCha locked in a utility mage, so he could provide the setup for MiyuKing's outplays. He knew that it was a crucial aspect of EoE to enable your teammate's full potential and that MiyuKing was reliable enough to carry the game by himself given the right conditions. The utility mage that Chang-Min selected was called Warp, an elf mage whose ultimate ability allows him to displace his teammates. It was one of WiCha's signature Eternals, since it allowed him to orchestrate his whole team's positioning in a fight. His viewers often said, that he is playing 4 characters at once. After using his ultimate, a short time window opens in which he can displace each of his teammates once by clicking on them.

While usually players only manage to reposition one Eternal within that timeframe, WiCha was one of the first players to find out a way to save time with lightning fast animation cancels and therefore reposition more than one Eternal. At first, it was treated like a bug, but after Yin and Yang Games had trouble fixing it, they made it a feature of Warp's kit since it required a lot of skill and not many players were able to consistently pull it off.

After the game started, Chang-Min had a strategy prepared that he simply needed to stick to. He tried to control the center of the map by constantly pushing his own minion waves, groups of weak respawning NPC units, under the enemy turret. Since his opponent was playing an Eternal with bad wave clear he could do this over and over again and use the time, his opponent needed to kill the minions, to group up with his team and kill the Kraken Camp, a certain monster on the map that respawns every five minutes and gives your team different randomly decided buffs, that keep getting stronger over time. The Kraken Camp is usually only possible to be slain by attacking it in a team, because the Kraken has four arms and the damage grows exponentially the more of them hit you.

After Chang-Min has been able to keep up the pressure for the first 3 Kraken Camps, his team managed to stack all of them uncontested. They accumulated a 4% damage buff, 20% increased mana regeneration and a 9% attack speed buff.

The 4th Kraken and the subsequent ones usually have much more unique and game deciding effects, in this particular case a shield that makes you immune to the first ability you are hit with. Every time the shield is broken, it jumps to one of your teammates. That means it keeps bouncing from one Eternal to another every time the one currently having the shield is hit with an enemy ability. Since this buff is giving a major advantage, both teams grouped up to fight over the Immunity Kraken. It was a going to be a 4v4, the atmosphere suddenly became tense, when every player tried to position themselves optimally for the ensuing fight.

"Now it counts" Chang-Min said in his stream before entering a state of absolute focus, his camera hectically switching between himself and Miyu.

Right as the enemy Gunslinger stepped a little too far forward, MiyuKing immediately seized the opportunity to engage, he channeled a hail of shurikens before transforming into his melee form and dashing into the enemy team. But before MiyuKing was able to deal any lethal damage, the enemy team immediately hit him with all of their crowd control spells, MiyuKing could not move nor use any of his spells.

What looked like a disaster, was actually the moment Chang-Min had waited for, in the blink of an eye he activated his ultimate and teleported Miyu to safety before she could be shutdown. He threw his own tank right into the middle of the enemy team, to keep them busy, which gave MiyuKing time to reestablish himself in the fight and re-enter it, now that all of the enemy team's Crowd Control was on Cooldown.

After being shielded by her Support, Miyu precisely dashed to the enemy Gunslinger and hit him with her sword while dodging all attacks coming her way. The first Kill.

She dashed through the Tank into the enemy back line, where she got rid of the Support next. Double Kill.

The enemy Enchanter, now almost completely unprotected, was MiyuKing's next victim. Triple Kill.

With only the Tank left standing, now being attacked by Chang-Min's entire team, MiyuKing could complete his Quadra Kill. This play ended up being one of MiyuKing's most successful clips, gaining him thousands of likes.

A clean ace, Chang-Min immediately signaled his team to skip the Kraken Camp and immediately push into the enemy base. They followed his masterful call and finished the game. In the post-game lobby, Chang-Min was honored by all of his teammates for his perfectly timed Ultimate.

He explained to his stream "I needed to use my ult flawlessly, if I don't, we first lose Miyu and eventually the fight. It is a matter of milliseconds. I am glad it worked out so well. Alright, that is it for now. I know it was only a short stream, but I still hope you enjoyed it."

Thinking about the game once again, Chang-Min said to himself, "MiyuKing has so much talent, it is such a waste of potential that he plays so one-dimensionally. "

Reminded of his own failed career in EoE's esports, Chang-Min sat in silence, hoping for EoE 2 to bring the change he earnestly craved.
