Chapter 16

Wen walked out of the mountain and followed the trail of Yin energy in the Earth's Chi flow. But he was also cleansing the chi so that the Earth doesn't get damaged as he knew that without a clear balance between both types of Chi energy, it will be detrimental to the Earth and the beings living on it.

As he was getting near the source of the Yin energy he could see the effects it had on the environment as he looked at the trees and plants which were more damaged. He used his powers to cleanse them and bring them to full health as he walked closer to the source.

The ground was getting more damaged, the trees were dry, the plants weren't in much better shape, the air was also not good and he couldn't feel any animals, birds or insects near it. They can't see Chi but they could feel it to an extent so they know that staying there was bad so they had most definitely left the place.

Wen was letting out his energy as he walked as he healed the land more as he was nearing the Yin source and a few metres from reaching it the ground started to shake which caused him to stop and look at the ground with narrowed eyes.

He then jumped back as the ground erupted and a giant black centipede came out of it and snarled at him. He could feel the Yin energy inside his as he realised that it had stayed near the source too long and so has mutated due to the amount of Yin energy it had absorbed.

This resulted in it becoming a demonic and large version of the normal kind and it most likely sees him as an enemy due to how he has been purifying the land and the Yin energy.

"You won't stand down peacefully, will you?" Wen asked the centipede as it snarled at him.

It gave a shrill cry in response and attacked him. To which he raised his right hand and the insect hit it which caused his energy to surge from his hand and envelop the centipede as it cried out before it vanished from in front of him as he also cleansed the Yin energy.

"Sorry little guy." Wen said as he walked forward.

Soon he reached the place and narrowed his eyes as he saw a small shrine in a small clearing. But it showed signs of disrepair, but most of all, it is the source of the Yin energy which has been contaminating the land and the chi flow. He narrowed his eyes at it as he walked towards it and looked at it and wondered how such large amounts of Yin energy had gathered in the shrine.

The shrine itself was quite small and could fit five people inside it. Not much of the decorations were left, the idols were missing and there weren't any talismans there. All in all, he could guess that the place was ransacked after people stopped tending to it.

"I guess I shouldn't be surprised. After the advent of science the supernatural was seen as being imaginations by the people so I guess it was inevitable for a shrine in the forests to be left unattended." Wen said to himself as he looked at the shrine.

'That being the case, it still doesn't explain how this much Yin energy has concentrated in here." Wen thought to himself as he looked at the place.

As he was thinking that a dark figure started to come from out of the ground and loomed over him as he is in deep thought.

"Did you think that I wouldn't notice you?" Wen said as he looked behind him.

The being didn't seem to have a physical form and was more like a concentration of energy. Something which he had managed to recognise as he turned and looked at it.

"What is a being from the Asura realm doing here?" Wen asked the dark being in front of him.

The being didn't say anything and raised it's right hand to strike him but Wen simply destroyed the arm as the being looked at it before another arm formed from the same energy as it looked at him.

Then it exuded a lot of Yin and divine energy and attacked Wen with more force. Only for its entire body to be simply destroyed by him as Wen's eyes has a lotus symbol on it when the flower is looked from up as it glowed blue.

He then looked down and raised his right leg and placed it down. A small gesture, but it completely blew the floor of the shrine out without damaging anything else. His eyes narrowed as he saw the divine ritual circle and the obvious symbols used in the Asura realm.

"So, the Asura's are trying to get to the Human realm, I mean, Earth." Wen said before he corrected himself.

He chuckled to himself when he realised that he had used the words from his time in training.

"Well, putting that aside, I have to cleanse this place." Wen said to himself as he looked at the shrine.

He raised his right hand and gathered Yang energy in his hand and then snapped his fingers causing the gathered energy to shoot out of his hand and surround the shrine and the following forest in the energy.

It was only for a second, but in that single second he had destroyed the circle and the gathered Yin energy. But also at the same time the forest and land around the shrine had also been healed in that single moment. And the shrine has also been repaired to its fullest extent.

Wen smiled when he saw it as he also repaired the chi flow in the land and also infused a good amount of his chi to it to heal the land and the places.

"That's great. Though there is a chance that something like that could happen so I should change something here." Wen said to himself as he looked at the shrine.

He then waved his hand as his eyes glowed with the lotus symbol as a large yellow ritual circle appeared under the shrine and expanded out of it and the small clearing. After it glowed for a few seconds it vanished as he smiled at it.

"Now, that will make sure to keep an eye on the chi flow." Wen said to himself with a smile.

He looked at the chi flow and being satisfied with it he walked out of the shrine and wondered about what to do as he walked away. But he stopped and looked at the sky and narrowed his eyes before he walked away from the place.

'I wonder, did you know about this, Master?' Wen thought to himself as he walked.
