ANGELINA

The sunset looked beautiful. All of its colors merged into one, making a masterpiece. Victor was asleep beside her, so Angelina had to keep watch. She wasn't even that tired. Something moved nearby. Angelina grabbed her pocket knife, fully alerted.

"Who's there? Come out!" She called, trying to make herself sound tough.

She heard a sigh of relief, then a familiar figure walked forward. It was Oliver.

"Oliver, you found us!" Angelina whispered.

Oliver looked over at the sleeping Victor, and then whispered, "Yeah, my guardian Cornelia, led me to you guys."

"Cornelia is a beautiful name." Angelina commented.

"She says so is yours." Oliver grinned.

"Nah, not as pretty as Cornelia." Angelina laughed quietly.

"How long have you been up?" Oliver asked, sitting down by the fire that Angelina had made.

"I don't know. All day." Angelina whispered, then yawned.

"Go to sleep. I'll keep watch." Oliver insisted.

"I sure am tired." Angelina smiled, thinking about the offer. "Okay, yeah, I will. Thanks, Oliver."

"Night." He whispered, then tended to the fire.

Angelina awoke to someone shaking her. It wasn't a rough shake but a gentle shake. It was Oliver. Angelina pushed him away lightly, then got up from the hard ground. Victor was sitting on a log with a stick in the fire. His hair was all messy.

"You were out cold." Victor teased.

"Well, I slept like a baby." Angelina laughed sleepily.

"I believe it." Oliver grinned.

She examined the sky. It was sunrise. The sunrise wasn't anywhere near as pretty as the sunset last night, though. Unfortunately it was already a warm day.

"Did you sleep, Oliver?" Angelina asked.

"Yeah, I woke up Victor to keep watch, but it ended up being both of us because I couldn't go to sleep." Oliver chuckled.

"Oh," Angelina got up, and rummaged through her bag to get her brush. She gingerly brushed through her knot filled hair.

She put her hair in a messy french braid, then tossed Vic her brush so he could brush his hair.

"You guys wouldn't believe what happened to me." Oliver exhaled.

"What?" Angelina and Vic asked eagerly, packing up camp.

"Okay, so in my homeroom class there was a lockdown because of an active shooter." Oliver started.

"What?" Angelina exclaimed worriedly.

"Then the shooter tried getting into our classroom, so my teacher stuffed me and the other kids into a cabinet. Then, the shooter broke down the door and asked where we were. My teacher told him that it was his prep hour. Then, the shooter shot the teacher."

Angelina was silent, and so was Victor.

"Then, my mom took me away from my dad and moved me to Preston, Idaho."

"Like your mom who abandoned you and left you with your dad?" Victor asked.

"There's no other." Oliver answered. "I found out I had a little sister by the name of Harper. She's three years old and has many diseases. She is the cutest thing I've ever seen."

"Oh wow. What disease?" Angelina put dirt on the smoking embers of the fire.

"Asthma is the main one. She is allergic to like everything, but she is so adorable!" Oliver boasted.

"Poor thing."

"Yeah." Oliver said.

The three packed up the rest of camp and got ready to venture off to the peak. The hotness of the sun warmed them, making them sweat. Oliver talked on and on about his mom and the house he was now staying in. After a long two hours Angelina had to admit she was starting to get annoyed with his boasting, but she was happy for him.

Angie kept her eyes forward, focusing on her goal. She made out the figure of the peak. Luckily it was getting close. They only had about another thirty minutes. Angelina stared at the hill, wondering why it was branded as a peak and not a hill. When they reached the foot of Mocking Jay Peak she examined it closely. The hill was covered in flowers and the three could hear talking noises, coming from the top of the hill. They walked up the hill cautiously, their calves and backs burning. The three teenagers reached the top and spotted about eight teenagers. They all turned to look at the three incomers, then drew their swords, fully alert. It frightened Angie. They all were looking at the three, inspecting them, large, fully real swords in their shaking hands.

"They're good. They're one of us." A girl, who was in the back of the group, informed the mob.

Everyone lowered their swords. A boy with black hair stepped forward. Angelina attempted to look tough, slightly adjusting her facial expression. He looked Victor, Oli, and Angie up and down.

"Welcome." The boy nodded.

"Thank you." Angelina held out her hand. The gesture was ignored.

"I'm Shawn."

"I'm Angelina, Angie for short." She replied, then noticed a girl whisper to a boy.

"Victor." Victor introduced.

"Oliver." Oli croaked nervously.

"Nice to meet you guys." Shawn nodded. "That girl over there can show you where to wind down."

Angelina smiled at her.

"Angelina, right?"

"Yeah." Angie answered, then asked again. "Where can we put our stuff?"

"What's your last name?" She asked, completely irrelevant to the question.

"It's Barrings. Where can we put our stuff?" Angelina asked again, annoyed with the girl.

"Knew it." She answered with a grin.

"What?"

"You are the girl in the coma. You are all over the news." She replied, brushing her red hair behind her shoulders. "Put your stuff over there with all of the other bags."

"Um, yeah. How'd you guess?" Angie asked.

"Everyone has their same hair color when they come here, just not their face." She told her.

"You guessed her by her hair color?" Victor laughed.

"And name." She rolled her eyes. "It isn't that hard."

"What's your name?" Angelina asked.

"Autumn."

Her appearance was quite beautiful. Her red hair reached her buttocks and was crimped in a messy manner. She was wearing a white shirt, black pants and was wearing leather boots.

Another girl came up to Angelina after Autumn left her, not even giving her time to dispose of her bag temporarily. The girl had hair that only reached her chest.

"I'm Chloe." She simply grinned, extending her hand.

"Angelina." Angie shook her dainty hand.

"I'm sorry."

"Why are you sorry?" Angie was officially confused.

"About the coma." She explained.

"There is no reason to be sorry. I don't understand why everyone knows about me." Angelina sighed.

"It's all over the news, silly." Chloe laughed.

"Is there anyone here that hasn't heard about me?" Angelina groaned, annoyingly.

"Yeah. Shawn doesn't, obviously." Chloe smiled, then ran off down the hill.

Angelina made her way to Victor and Oliver, looking around the camp. The top of the hill was quite spacious. She guessed it had the area of Central Park. She spotted Victor who was laughing with a boy Angie hadn't met yet. Oliver gave Angelina a smile, waving her over

"Hey guys." Angie greeted.

"This is Alexander, Alex for short." Victor said, ushering towards the boy.

"Nice to meet you, I'm-" She greeted, then Alexander interrupted her.

"Angelina... I know." He laughed in a weird accent.

"Haha, everyone does apparently. I love your accent. Australian right?" Angie asked eagerly.

"Yeah." Alexander replied with a smile.

"How did you hear about me clear in Australia?"

"I didn't. I just barely learned about you. Autumn told me when you first arrived." He laughed.

"Oh, cool." Angelina replied, looking down at the ground.

It was all so weird. She hated attention more then ever. Angie was so surprised that she was so well known across the country. It was weird to think that over one-hundred-million people had heard of her. She wasn't dead, though. It wasn't like she died. Or maybe they thought she would, so they shared her so-called great life story with the public early. The thought pained her to think about. It pained her to think that she was clinging onto dear life back in the real world. Angelina found herself wondering if she'd ever get to see her family again. If she'd ever get better, but she knew that it was unlikely. The clone of herself in that hospital wasn't in good shape. What would happen if she died? She couldn't even think about that at the moment.

She thought this world was pretty and all, but it wasn't home. Home was back in Walton. Home was with her mother, father, and sisters. Home... Home seemed so far away, but so close to her. All she had to think about was leaving this world and going back to her real family.

"Angelina? Hello? Earth to Angie?" Victor called waving his hand in front of her face, dragging her from her painful thoughts.

"Huh?" She asked, dazed.

"We have to learn how to use a sword apparently." Victor told her.

Angelina nodded, forcing her thoughts to the back of her mind. She had better priorities.

"What's on your mind? Last time you blacked out like that, you had something big bothering you." A look of genuine fear spread across Victor's face. He knew her so well for only having known her for at most a month.

"It's just..." She inhaled. "What if I die in this coma? What'll happen? I just wonder if I'll ever get to see my family, in person, again."

Victor hugged her tightly, "Don't think about that. You'll see them again. Come on, Angie, you'll live."

"How can you be so certain," Angelina snapped, then apologized. "Sorry."

"You're fine. You just got to believe. You need to produce some hope," Victor whispered, pulling away.

"Thanks. Has anyone told you you're a good friend," She smiled, wiping a tear, that somehow escaped the captivity of her eye, from her face.

"They don't need to," Victor smiled then went over to Shawn, who was speaking with an odd looking girl.

"Are you ready now," Shawn asked.

"Yep."

"You, okay, Angelina," He asked, noticing the slight sign of sadness in her facial expression.

"Couldn't be better." She lied.

* * * * *

"Okay, so you're telling me, we have powers," Victor asked Shawn and the other girl, who's a name we later learned to be Analia.

"Correct, you just haven't found them yet," Analia replied, her platinum white hair glowing in the sun rays.

Analia was albino, which meant she had a lack of pigmentation in the eyes, skin, and hair. This also means her eyes were purple and her hair and skin were white. She was a very pretty girl.

"How?" Angelina gasped.

"Your guardians gifted you them but didn't tell you. Although, you can not use them on Earth, only Elysia," Shawn informed.

"This is crazy! Who knew I had powers," Oliver exclaimed. "I feel like an eight year old."

"How do we find them," Victor asked eagerly.

"You need to train," Analia replied.

"That's no fun," Victor growled, then Angelina kicked him so he'd shut up.

"It isn't supposed to be fun," Shawn snapped.

"Sorry." Victor apologized.

"Whatever. Let's start before we get sidetracked." Shawn growled.

Shawn had a temper. His brown eyes blazed with anger when Victor had complained, it had frightened Angie. His black hair fell onto his forehead, like bangs, except they weren't. She could tell he was the leader. It was his job to boss everyone around. Maybe he wasn't a bad guy outside of the arena. She wouldn't know, and she definitely didn't want to find out herself, she was sort of scared of him.

Victor, Angelina, and Oliver were taught the basics of sword fighting. Analia and Shawn were amazed at how fast Angelina learned compared to Oli and Vic.

Once they were done with training, the sun began to go down. Angelina went to the end of the hill and watched it. She heard footsteps behind her. Then, Shawn sat next to her.

"You did good today, Angelina." He complimented.

"Thank you."

"It is surprising how fast you learn compared to everyone else on the peak." Shawn laughed in a cold but nice manner.

"I guess I've always learned quickly, at least that's what my teachers tell me."

"What's all the fuss about you? Why is everyone always talking about you? Everyone just met you."

Great question.

"Where are you from?" Angelina asked, trying to change the subject.

"The UK." He replied.

"Nice."

"Why do they all know about you?" He asked again.

"No reason."

"I'll let you know I will not stop asking until I get an answer."

"I believe it."

"I'm waiting."

"Well, I guess I'm all over the news in America." She sighed.

"Why? Are you dead or something?"

"Almost. I mean, I could die." She answered, staring at the sunset.

"I don't get it... Do you have cancer or something?"

"No, not cancer."

"Well, then what?"

"I'm in a coma. Some bullies pushed me too hard and I hit my head on a brick wall, plus the cement ground." She croaked. She clearly hated to talk about it.

He didn't reply. After a minute he said, "Oh, I didn't know..."

"I know, and I was glad you didn't. For once I wish someone hasn't heard of me because of the news. I just wish someone would know me for me, not who my parents thought I was."

"I'm terribly sorry for asking." Shawn apologized.

"And I wish everyone would stop saying sorry." She whispered, a tear rolling down her cheek. "Sorry, I shouldn't be breaking down on you like that."

"You're, um, fine. I'm gonna leave you alone now."

"Wait-" She smiled. "That is the first time I have heard you be sympathetic towards a person since I got here."

"Shut up." He laughed. "Now I'm going to go."
