VICTOR

Victor sat in class, staring at the clock, waiting for the end of school bell to ring. It seemed like ten minutes passed by when it had only been two. Victor yawned, causing his eyes to water from it. He wiped his eyes quickly before anyone could see.

Finally, after what seemed like 30 minutes, but actually was 5 minutes, the bell rang. Victor jumped out of his chair, grabbed his stuff and walk-ran out of the room. He had a mission. The faster he got home, the better. Annie had told Victor that next time he went into Elysia he may or may not have to protect the world. Victor could tell that it was definitely going to happen, for Annie wouldn't have given him a hint if it wasn't gonna happen.

Unfortunately, Victor had to take the bus, which would most definitely slow him down. Although, at least he was getting home. Victor walked onto the bus and found an empty seat located near the front, so he sat down. He pulled out his notebook and started doodling him and Angelina in their Elysian form with swords in their hands' jumping into the air, in sync. By the time he reached his neighborhood, he had finished the drawing of Angelina, still having to draw himself. In the drawing, Angelina had her strawberry-blond hair up into a ponytail and was wearing a dress. She had a large, iron sword in her left hand, and her right hand clenched into a fist. He was quite proud of it. It looked like a cartoon version of the Elysian Angelina, but he still liked it. It was practically the only drawing type he could draw.

When the bus reached his house, he said goodbye to the bus driver and ran off the bus, into the house.

"Mom must be working," Victor presumed as he scanned the kitchen, she was usually in there when he got home.

He dashed up the stairs, down the hall, and into his bedroom. Victor knew he should go to sleep, but he couldn't just sleep on command. He had been trying to make himself sleepy all day, failing at it though. He had to do something to make him go to sleep, he was eager to protect Elysia. This was when his plan came in. He would do his best to get into shape and make him sleepy all at the same time. He was going to take a run. He despised running but he knew it was the fastest way.

Victor sighed and put on some basketball shorts then ran downstairs and out the door. He was planning on running the same block three times, even though he probably couldn't achieve it, but what's a boy to dream? He started running, already miserable, but he just had to do it. He had a great urge to be a "warrior" and save an unknown world, so he kept running.

It took a great while to run his designated amount, but he did it. When Victor ran into his yard he just dropped to the ground, exhausted. His forehead was shiny with sweat, for it was a hot afternoon. Victor layed there a second then forced himself to get up. The run sure did help make him get sleepier but didn't help much with making him bulkier. He walked back into the house and slowly walked up the stairs, his calves burning. When he finally got into his room he immediately plopped onto his bed and felt his eyelids growing heavier than usual. He was finally going to sleep. Hallelujah.

Victor was back in the meadow, right where he left off. He was in the middle of the clearing, on his stomach, with his elbows propping his upper body up. He got up, relieved his calves and side didn't hurt anymore. Victor heard a weird bell in his head.

Victor Angelose of New Jersey, it is your time to shine. An unfamiliar man's voice echoed in his head. It is your time to work with others around the world. It is your time to protect Elysia! You are the chosen one!

Victor couldn't believe it, it was finally happening. He didn't know why he was so glad to possibly risk his life, but he was.

"Wow, I don't know what to say." Victor gasped out loud.

Go to Mocking Jay Peak to start your journey. He replied, his voice slipping away.

"Aye aye captain." Victor laughed.

Victor looked around the meadow then darted for the village to find Angelina. He soon found her in the bakery's sleeping chamber packing a bag.

"Oh, Victor, it's time." Angelina praised when he entered the room.

"I know! We just need to get directions to Mocking Jay Peak." Victor smiled.

"Oh, what about Sarah and Chadrick? They won't have any help around here. What are they going to think?" Angelina puzzled worriedly.

"That's a good point..." Victor replied, scratching his head, then gathering up his needed supplies like clothing, food, water, and other essentials.

Just then Sarah and Chadrick walked in, then their eyes grew sad.

"Sarah, Chadrick, you have been very good to us, but sadly, we must leave." Angelina sighed sadly.

"I figured this was gonna happen." Sarah whispered.

"We are so sorry, Sarah, Chadwick. We wouldn't be leaving if we didn't have to."

"It's okay."

"We need directions." Victor swung the bag onto his shoulders.

"Where to?" Chawick asked.

"Mocking Jay Peak..." Victor replied cautiously.

Chadrick nodded his head then went over to their chest of drawers and pulled a piece of paper out of the top drawer. He handed the teens the paper. It was a map. Angelina nodded thankfully and then Angie hugged the two goodbye. The two rushed out the door and then followed the street to the side of town they had never been in.

When they reached the end of town they looked down at the map, searching for Mocking Jay Peak. The map was most definitely old school. It was all wrinkly and the paper was beginning to tan. Victor made out the weak, dim outline of Mocking Jay Peak. It wasn't really a mountain, in fact it was more of a tall hill. He stared at the hill in freight, fretting the long walk to the meeting spot. Victor looked over at Angelina who was kicking rocks as they went along the path. Victor hated the painful silence they shared.

"It's too quiet." Victor laughed, breaking the force.

"I guess." He watched as she kicked a rock so hard it went a distance of four yards.

"Are you mad at me?" That was the only question he could think of.

"No, why would I be?" Angelina asked puzzled.

"You're just really quiet. Plus you are kinda kicking the rocks hard." Victor stated.

A long silence cast among them.

"It's just, what if we die here? I may never see my family again, you neither." Angelina sighed painfully.

"I know, it's a risk, but we have to do this. We were chosen after all." Victor encouraged.

"I know, but..." Angelina started, then stopped herself.

"What?" Victor asked.

"We should be a quarter way there." Angelina deflected Victor's question, changing the subject.

Victor left her alone. He knew better than to get into a fight with her. She would most likely win it. She always found a way to win.

It was beginning to become dark out, but they weren't there yet. They were exhausted. When Angelina said Victor decided to rest, he immediately plopped onto the ground. He had never been so tired. The only thing that kept Victor entertained was he just talked to Annie. Surprisingly, Victor was able to squeeze more information about the wizard guy, out of her. Vic could feel his eyes growing heavy, but jerk them awake.

"It's okay, go to sleep, I'll keep watch. Then, I'll wake you up so you can keep watch, and I can go to sleep." She informed him, seeing him struggling to stay awake.

He liked that news, so he stopped fighting the sleepiness and fell asleep.
