After discovering my sacred gear [eyes of truth] I did the first thing that came to mind, and that is of course finding MAGIC.

'I feel like its Christmas all over again' I thought while taking the book off one of the shelfs

The book was in a good condition and was unassuming or magical looking with low quality leather and the title 'basics on earth magic and manipulation', I would never even look its way if I didn't look through them one by one

I opened the book and found a lot of complicated things about magic and diagrams? ah shit, forgot how humans needed math to do magic

"mako, your father is here have you found anything you want?" she asked without hope in her voice for me to find anything

"yes mom" I smiled excitedly at her and lifted up the book at her "can you please buy it for me" I gave her my most powerful weapon I learnt so far, the [doggy eyes]

"of course sweety" she seemed surprised I actually wanted anything "what is it about?" she held out her hand and I took it and we walked to the counter

"its about earth magic, I hope it wont be too hard" I said while wishing magic wasn't as hard as said in the show

"I'm sure it wont be hard for you, but before you do any weird rituals written in there tell me or father about them first ok?" my mom never understood why I searched for magic or magical things but she would nonetheless support me and help me in my 'hobbies' for that I'm grateful

Anyhow the store clerk just sighed at us when he saw the book we were about to get

"you do know it's a math book right? You wont find any magic in there" he said with his dead eyes while looking at my mom

"I want it" I looked intensely at him, I won't let him hamper my growth, I released a little magic while looking him in the eyes

'this kid' he smiled while returning the smirk

"you know, if you want to better understand the book better I can help you, for the right price" he looked directly at me and dismissing my mother

"excuse me" my mom looked at him with confusion on her face "we are here for a book not a math teacher" she raised an eyebrow

"you see ma'am" he looked at my mom again "I am the one that wrote the book, and I am a private teacher in my free time" he than looked at me again "the little guy seems adamant on wanting the book, but it is in collage level math at least, I am ready to teach him for 5,000 yen an hour" he finished the sentence looking at my mom

He knows I know about the supernatural and that my parents don't, he is also the one that made the book… I inspected him

"mom" my mom or her name full name Aiko aori was about to speak when I stopped her "can I, please" [doggy eyes] go!, in the back ground I can see James smiling at me

"but mako, you don't even know this person, I don't agree that you learn from a stranger" ah shit

'uhhhhh, what do I do' I looked at James for help

"ma'am If I may" James took mom's attention "my name is James Alcord if your son wants to learn from me I can assure you that I am the perfect man for the job" he smiled at her

"I agree" my mom smiled at him "than I guess I should introduce myself as well, I am Aiko Aori and this is my son Makoto Aori, I will talk to my husband and we will contact you, can I have your number?" …what?

Oh, ooohhhhh, not sure how I feel about this, I am grateful to James but I would never want someone to mess with my mind like that

While I confirmed my beliefs my mother and will be teacher finished their talk

"come Mako, dad is waiting outside" she took the book and my hand and walked away

I looked back at my soon to be teacher while walking to the front door of the store and he smirked and winked at me

I blinked and smiled gratefully at him while giving him a thumbs up

"so Mako, why are you so interested in math" she asked sweetly "I know you are smarter than most already, you don't need a math teacher"

"I want to understand the things in the book mom" I smiled at her "math is really cool" I cringed at how nerdy that sounded

"… you just want to understand that earth magic thing right" she looked at me deadpanned

"…yeah" I looked towards the car we are traveling to

"*sigh* I just want you to enjoy your life, you are 6 years old Mako, you are supposed to be out playing with friends and playing video games" she looked at me worryingly like she and dad always do when I refuse to play with others my age or close myself in my room to train mana control

"I… I enjoy what I'm doing now, I don't want to be part of some stupid groups, I rather meditate (what I call mana control training when they found me while doing it) and be with you guys" I said a little annoyed but happy that they care, feeling are quite a complicated thing

"…fine, I understand, but if someone or something is bothering you tell me or dad and we will help you ok?" my mom stopped me and looked me in the eyes to see my reaction

"sure" I smiled at her

'little does she know that gods and creatures that can destroy continents with a sneeze walk among us' I thought while focusing to keep my smile genuine

"good" she seems satisfied at my 'sincerity' and we continued to the car and entered it

"heya boyo" dad or Takashi Aori said with a smirk "found anything" he joked

He knows I'm annoyed at not finding anything I want there, so he teases me a lot about it

"yes, yes I did" I smirked back at him when shock filled his face

"really?!?! I-I mean really? What did you pick?" he looked genuinely curious at what his picky son dimmed 'worthy' to buy

"this" my mom gave him the book from the back of the car

We both sat at the back so she could put me on my booster seat 'GOD I hate this thing'

"earth magic?" he looked disappointed at the title and than looked at me "I thought you would buy something interesting for the first time" he looked at me with disappointed

*SMACK* mom smacked him in the shoulder "shut up Taka-baka" fun fact, they met in high school so this is an old nickname

"fine fine" he chuckled at the nickname "but you know its hard to stay quite for me" he faked sadness

'oh god here it comes' I thought with a grimace

"when we get home I will be sure to 'listen' to your mumblings all you want" she said with suggestiveness in her voice

oh go- *gag* I'm about to throw up

"oh yeah, than I'll make sure you are quite while I'm 'talking' " he smirked at her

And they continued flirting with me right beside them 'Michael please make the suffering stop' I prayed to Michael for salvation while we drove home
