The Predator and The Prey (2)

She immediately crossed her arms to block his punch.

'A stupid human brat, how strong could he be?'

As a Devil, she had always considered herself superior to those measly humans whom she ate how humans ate chicken.

*Crack*

*Smash*

As soon as she came back to her senses she found herself embedded into the wall of the warehouse and both her hands were twisted and mangled up. There were cracks spread around the area she was stuck.

She let out another shrill shriek. She had never been in so much pain throughout her life.

Seeing this Ryujin gasped in amazement, 'To think my full-powered punch would only break her arms.' He had already expected it but he was still amazed by a devil's resilience.

He didn't waste time and rushed towards her and punched at her once again causing her chest to cave in.

She broke through the wall and bounced and rolled on the ground landing far away. Dust gathered around the area she laid.

Unfortunately, that gave her enough time to stand up and gather herself.

*Cough* *Cough* *Cough* *Cough*

After a violent burst of coughing and gasping for air, she steadied herself, and her eyes filled with hatred latched on to Ryujin's figure that calmly walked towards her.

Looking at the disfigured devil a large smile spread across his face behind the mask and his eyes lit up with a glint. Seeing the state of the devil Ryujin felt a sense of exhilaration.

This was the first time he was so excited about something. Just imagining how he controlled the life and death of the devil in front of him gave him a sense of power he never felt before.

While he knew how dangerous this train of thought was he knew himself better than anyone, the last thing that would happen to him was gaining useless arrogance and overconfidence.

Seeing the glint in his eyes the devil felt a chill run down her spine and she immediately decided to escape.

Seeing this a mischievous glint passed through his eyes.

He raised his palm and all the light particles in the surrounding rushed towards his palm like a tide and gathered there.

The light was so bright that it caused the devil to look back, She was heading towards the forest behind the warehouse. If she tried entering the city then there wouldn't be any chance for her survival anyway.

She felt that Ryujin must belong to some faction and if she went towards the city then there would be no chance to escape.

This was within Ryujin's calculations. How could this devil know that had she barged in deep into the city he would've left her alone.

Pity!

She flapped her wings harder and gained some height and started flying off using her bat-like wings.

Soon a voice magically entered her ears, it was soft and childish, filled with innocence.

"Praise The Almighty True God, Let there be light!"

It caused her to instinctively look back and as soon as she did that she saw a beam of light rush at her and hit her forehead.

...

Ryujin let out a frustrated sigh and muttered, "Such a stupid incantation, At least I won't have to yell out these incantations when I learn 'Instant Casting'."

After frequently visiting the church in the past three months he noticed something.

Sometimes the Head-Priest would flash a bright light from his palm at the believers claiming that they were being blessed by the god.

Most believers were occasionally stunned, some became more zealous while the more rational ones concluded that there was some technology behind it.

But only Ryujin knew that it was the incantation for the Light Spell!

Why? Because he immediately tried it out at his home and it worked. He took quite a bit of time marveling at the 'magic' he used and he also tried playing around with it in various ways, hence the beam of light.

With his talent and control, he bent the light flash into a beam. He believed that if he flashed such a bright light in the night then it would attract the supernatural.

And with the amount of mana he had poured in, even the most basic light spell could become harmful.

It wasn't the magic that made it special. It was the magician who wielded it. Even the most common fireball spell can burn gods as long as it was used by an overpowered magician.

He was sure the spell he cast was enough for the devil to be paralyzed for a few minutes, after all, she was already in a bad state.

He dashed into the forest and arrived at the spot where the devil had fallen.

He soon saw her lying on the ground as her body occasionally twitched.

He flipped her over and saw her state.

Her eyes were rolled back and her clothes were torn in different areas.

Her hair seemed charred and so did some spots on her body.

He ignored this and sat on her stomach. Taking out a knife from his bag he cut the area just below her breast.

Some blood spilled and slid down.

Honestly, he found the scene beautiful for some reason.

Blood seemed so beautiful...

Shaking his head he took out a tube of Holy Water and dropped some on her wound.

It immediately caused her to let out a shriek and return to reality. The pain was similar to being dipped in hot sizzling oil while having thousands of cuts on your body.

Her body jerked up and bounced around but Ryujin kept his feet planted to the ground with super strength and with the state the devil was in she had no way to resist.

The current state of the devil was very bad.

Ryujin could sense the crown flickering in and out of reality so he had no time to waste.

Tears welled up in the Devil's eyes and she started crying.

Ryujin was momentarily dazed.

'What the fuck?'

What kind of devil that eats humans cries like a kid?

He mercilessly slapped her and her cheek turned red while some blood flowed down the side of her lips, she grew silent while looking at Ryujin indignantly and pleadingly.

She couldn't believe how cruel this human kid was and how the hell did he damage her so much with a basic light spell?

"P-Please let me live, I'll do anything!"

Soon she heard him say in an emotionless voice, "Tell me all about the magic you know and also tell me the incantations for every element you know."

Almost 15k words in total!
