Tips and Tricks (74)

'This woman is crafty' Yami said, breaking the silence that had grown between them.

Yami and Broly both possessed personalities that contrasted in fundamental ways, if not for the fact they were trapped in the same space, they would never even attempt to act amicably around each other.

It wasn't necessarily that Yami disliked Broly, it was just that he had seen a thousand times how life had become more difficult when you spared someone you shouldn't spare or tolerated someone who should not be tolerated.

But it was difficult to explain this to Broly whose power level seemed to be the solution to all problems.

On some level, Yami could appreciate the righteousness Broly seemed to embody but more often than not it was just an inconvenience.

Also, Yami just found it more fun to be reckless.

'Don't fall for her smooth words, remember what Queen Vegeta said' Yami pointed out.

"The Fire Tribe secretly attacked the Wind Tribe and the Ice Tribe"

Broly as if he was broken out of a trance, snapped back to reality.

'So what should I do?'

Broly wasn't quite sure how to handle the situation and for some reason, he found it really hard to string his thoughts together, it was like he had a mental block.

If Sizzle's words had even a sliver of truth then the situation was much too deep for him to walk away and say no without considering the consequences.

He couldn't just leave the people to die.

But on the other hand, the royalty of the Fire Tribe seemed to be very shady, Broly was sure he had heard one of them scream and run away when he first arrived and the advisor hadn't accounted for the reason why the poor people's houses were built on the outskirts of the city.

A hole in the story she had told Broly.

'If you want to continue to be a paragon of virtue, I say that you head to the battlefield and assess the situation there, you can change your mind at any time and realistically, you could take on both sides by yourself' Yami said wisely.

Yami's words struck Broly as truth, causing him to completely snap out of whatever he was in.

Broly smirked, a wide smile forming on his face that scared Advisor Sizzle.

'Why's he smiling at me?' she thought. slightly terrified.

The smile Broly was wearing now was not one of happiness but one of mischief, the smile a child gives to his friend before pushing them down the slide.

A chill ran down her spine but she put effort into appearing unfazed.

She couldn't crack at this crucial point in negotiating.

"Deal," Broly said decisively.

"Alright then!"

She revealed a small yellow ki crystal that was concealed in her sleeve.

"You know how to detect ki right?" Sizzle asked, just in case.

Broly had to expend palpable willpower to not snicker on the spot.

"Yes," he said, trying to exercise humility.

"Catch," Advisor Sizzle said, throwing the crystal into the air, her eyes peeled to see how Broly would react.

He moved his hand quickly, intercepting the crystal mid-air without raising his head to look at it.

Broly had only touched but he could already tell that the small piece in his hand had much more energy in it than the long shard he had crushed on his ship.

'Lightning?'

"That's a lightning crystal fragment, it's ki signature is unique and the king possesses a matching shard, you'll find him on the battlefield," Advisor Sizzle said, choosing her words carefully.

Broly smiled and hurriedly turned around, leaving the castle.

'Unique Signature?'

Broly pondered the possible meanings and implications of this as he leapt off the ground, soaring fast towards the location that was locked in his mind.

"Is he gone?" a small voice asked.

A smaller girl peeked her head out of the corridor, eyes searching for the huge muscular figure.

Advisor Sizzle chuckled.

"Yes, he's gone," Sizzle said warmly.

A smaller figure came out, she was much more slender and lanky than Advisor Sizzle but still possessed smooth curves that were appealing to the eye. She was about 5'3 in height and could be no older than 16. Her pink air dangled neatly behind her.

"I wanted to snatch you away from him but I was too scared," the girl admitted.

Advisor Sizzle smiled again, motioning for the girl to come towards her.

The teenage alien girl came out from her hiding place, wearing long white silky robes that seemed to be way too big for her, the sleeves falling past her arms and the hood reaching the centre of her back.

"I would have been fine, my persuasion would have won in the end," the Advisor said confidently.

She was among the luckiest commoners in Fire Tribe history, her family Fire Crystal gave her the memories of an ancient ancestor who had been a successful politician, allowing her to be a master of speech.

"No," the girl interrupted quietly, her voice sounding delicate like a feather landing on water.

"I saw with it my eyes, he broke out of your trance just before he agreed," the girl said worriedly.

Advisor Sizzle's brows furrowed.

"Are you saying that he willingly went to the battlefield?"

"It's not an impossibility, especially considering his expression when he just arrived, he seems to be a hero-type who thinks he can solve our problems," the girl responded softly.

Advisor Sizzle frowned, now looking very worried.

"How strong was he?"

"He possesses strength beyond all hope," the girl said confidently.

"Huh?"

"If every Mentelian gathered together and attacked him at once it still wouldn't be enough to overpower him," the girl said decisively.

Sizzle's face crumpled, forming a harsh and fierce image, that scared the teenage girl.

"He's that strong?"

"No doubt in my mind, his energy is on another level entirely"

"And I just sent him towards our army," Sizzle said, gritting her teeth again.

"It's not your fault! You did the best you could in the situation," the girl said encouragingly.

"You're right, it's not. It's that idiot dad of yours that keeps causing us trouble!"

"Sizzle..." the girl said softly.

"If the Queen was alive-"

"Sizzle!" the girl said, this time much more harshly, pouting profusely.

Sizzle sighed out and thought, considering what to do.

The situation was extremely dire.
