Advisor Sizzle (73)

Broly waited in the middle of the throne room in Fire King Castle.

It was an impressive structure, being supported by six huge pillars, three per side that were all carved out of the red ki crystals, which gave the room a fiery glow. In front of Broly was a small throne, being elevated by four steps, smoothly made flat. As the room was primarily made of stone, the grey substance found anywhere on the planet, the aesthetic of the room was very nice.

But Broly was in no mood to appreciate furniture.

Broly didn't want to assume the King was a bad person but it was very difficult for him to escape that conclusion when the inside of the castle was in such a pristine condition and there were people starving on the streets.

Broly waited for a few moments, time allowing his anger to settle and sooner or later the guard came back fearfully, being followed by a tall slender woman with her pink hair tied in a bun.

Broly calmed down a little as his heartbeat slightly faster.

The woman did a double-take as she saw Broly, unfamiliar with his huge and muscular build but quickly concealed her surprise.

This didn't go unnoticed by Broly.

"The king is not present at the moment so-"

The guard was cut off.

"How can I help you?" Advisor Sizzle said quickly and sharply.

"I would like to speak with the King," Broly said, repaying Advisor Sizzle's tone.

"The King isn't present at the moment but I am his advisor, please pass on any request to me and I will relay it to him," Advisor Sizzle said quickly, not blinking as she spoke, her four eyes staring sweetly at Broly.

Advisor Sizzle didn't look like it but she was on edge, it wasn't every day a herculean giant barged into the Throne Room of the King. If not for the fact she knew the guards would lose, she would have already ordered his capture, that coupled with the fact that on this particular day security was low...

Meant that Advisor Sizzle couldn't afford to make any mistakes.

"Why did the King ask this man to kill anyone who seeks him?" Broly asked, pointing at the guard was currently hiding behind Advisor Sizzle.

In reality, Broly had come with the intention of securing ki crystals and nothing else as he had already detected a storage facility somewhere within the castle but after he saw the near-dead people on the streets, his intentions had shifted and he asked instead why he was attacked in order to open up a conversation about the king.

Advisor Sizzle's eyebrows narrowed, all four of them arcing around her slender slits.

Broly had somehow managed to get past the guards meaning that he was a battle capable person and he was coherent enough to not start all-out violence against the everyone he met.

This led Sizzle to believe that she could not refuse or antagonize this person.

"That information cannot be distributed freely," she said softly.

Broly squinted but didn't argue, he knew that from the Fire Tribe's perspective he had barged into their territory and demanded to speak with the king.

It took a very special kind of person to be this diplomatic.

"I come seeking ki crystals, I have taken a liking to them and would like to take some back to my planet," Broly said honestly.

Advisor Sizzle didn't hesitate.

"May I implore what means you used to arrive on this planet?" she said not understanding how someone could jump across planets.

"I came by spaceship," Broly said simply.

"Space-Ship?" Advisor Sizzle said awkwardly, the word sounding like a curse in her mouth.

Broly sighed out and explained the concept to her, the same way he had been taught by the Tsufurians.

"I-I see," Sizzle responded slightly dazed, while the idea of space travel had been taught to her, a visitor, that she knew of, hadn't come to the planet in centuries, leading her opinion of Broly to skyrocket suddenly.

"In any case, ki crystals are used as a form of currency on Planet Mentels and as you can probably guess, it would be bad for business if we just gave it away," Advisor Sizzle said smoothly.

Broly frowned, understanding that Advisor Sizzle's words made his request seem unreasonable.

"However!" Advisor Sizzle continued, a small smile forming on her face as an idea unravelled.

"We are currently locked in battle with the Ice Tribe and I imagine that those muscles aren't for decoration! If you help us defeat them in combat then not only will we give you some of our crystals, you can also have as many Ice crystals as you want!" Advisor Sizzle announced grandly, her voice raised by the end of her speech, lifting Broly's spirits.

While every word that came out of Advisor Sizzle's mouth sounded appealing, Broly wasn't nearly impulsive enough to be appeased with that much.

"Why are you in conflict with the Ice Tribe?" Broly said inquisitively.

Advisor Sizzle gritted her teeth stealthily, emotions she had pushed down suddenly resurfacing.

'Because the King is a war-hungry idiot who only knows how to be selfish!' she lamented.

But she could not tell Broly this.

Sizzle's mind raced quickly trying to think of a way to convince Broly.

She had an idea but it was a gamble.

She gritted her teeth again and doubled down.

"I'm sure you have seen the people starving on the streets," Sizzle said, trying to sound as upset as possible.

"It's because whenever we try to carry supplies from our farms, we're attacked by the Ice Tribe," she said, formulating hate in her eyes.

Broly's stance changed, shifting onto his other foot as he considered the validity of the advisor's words.

"We've run out of soldiers to send, most of the wives in our tribe widows, in a last-ditch effort we sent out our remaining soldiers to Final Thunder Valley but the prospects aren't looking good, if the Ice Tribe wins they will come back and undoubtedly slaughter us all," Sizzle said bitterly.

"It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that you could save the lives of all the members of the Fire Tribe today," Advisor Sizzle said softly.

[Storyteller: It looks like things are finally picking up! Will Broly side with the Fire Tribe and fight a war against the Ice Tribe? If he does how will he manage against trained warriors, skilled in the art of elemental warfare? Find out next time, in the next chapter! Of Dragon Ball Revised!]
