Arrival of a Tyrant

"My, my... What's all this?"

On the landing outside the castle, the King and all his men could be seen on their knees, bowing before their tyrannical ruler, Lord Frieza.

Seeing the King of all Saiyans down on his knees filled Frieza with a sense of deranged satisfaction, relishing in the strangle hold he has over the apes.

"You don't need to bow, Vegeta." Frieza said condescendingly, staring right through the Saiyan King. "After all, we're all friends here."

Vegeta gritted his teeth in anger before standing up on his feet, looking down at his short overlord.

"Lord Frieza, we weren't expecting you." He said.

"That's fine, I won't hold it against you if the house isn't in order." Frieza said as he walked past the King, heading inside the castle.

Once inside, Frieza headed toward the throne room.

"You don't mind if I sit down, do you?" Frieza asked, sitting upon the throne before Vegeta could even think of responding. "That's better. Seems you've gotten a more comfortable throne since the last time."

The King seethed in anger as he stares at the Frost Demon sitting on his throne. Frieza had his own personal chair that followed him around no matter where he went. The fact that he decided to take his throne wasn't anything but pure mockery.

"Lord Frieza, can I ask what brings you to Planet Vegeta?" The King asked.

"Yes. I heard quite an interesting tale. Something about the mighty King of the Monkeys running about trying to find a pillow to rest his head." Frieza replied.

Vegeta flinched at the words spoken by Frieza. He thought that he had kept that information away from Frieza's prying ears.

Before he had a chance to speak, a beam suddenly shot through his leg, causing him to drop to the ground in pain.

"Did you think that I wouldn't notice your six month absence?" Frieza asked, his finger pointed towards the groveling King.

"L-Lord Frieza, I--"

Vegeta cut off when another beam went through his shoulder.

"What was that, monkey? I'm afraid I couldn't hear you over your screams of agony. Do try to speak up." Frieza said with a sinister smirk.

"I-I..."

"Yes?" Frieza asked, ready to fire off another beam.

"Beerus..." The King said simply.

The bright pink energy around Frieza's finger immediately dissipated at the mention of the God of Destruction.

"What did you say?" He asked, his gaze narrowing at the pathetic excuse for a king. "I could have sworn you just said "Beerus."

Vegeta nodded, gripping his shoulder in pain. "L-Lord Beerus... ordered me to find... the most comfortable pillow in the universe..."

This caused Frieza's eyes to widen for moment before shifting to a more serious expression.

"I see..." He muttered.

There were two people that Frieza's father, KIng Cold had told him never to engage with. The first was Majin Buu, and the second was Beerus the Destroyer.

Frieza looked at the King with an analytical gaze, trying to decipher if he had been telling the truth or had just invoke Beerus' name in an attempt to save his own skin.

After a few moments, Frieza let out a disappointed sigh and waved a few of his soldiers to take the King away to receive medical treatment.

"If that's the case then I suppose it couldn't be helped. You really know how to take the fun out of things." He told Vegeta.

As he was being carried away, Vegeta thought that the entire situation had come to an end since Frieza had no more business on Planet Vegeta. That all came down crashing on him like a bucket of cold water when he heard Frieza's next words.

"By the way..." Frieza said, causing the soldiers carrying King Vegeta to stop and turn him back towards the tyrant. "What is this 'Legendary Super Saiyan' that I keep hearing about?"

Zyleth and his family all gathered in his house, tension filling up the usual room as they sat in the living room.

"Is Frieza really that strong?" Raditz asked as he looked at an image of Frieza, to which everyone nodded their heads.

"Don't let his small stature fool you. That damned monster is in a league of his own." Bardock replied.

"That's right." Zyleth spoke up. "There's a reason why King Vegeta is so afraid of him."

"So, if you two were to fight, who would win?" Raditz asked his older brother.

Zyleth looked towards Raditz and smirked at him, pointing at himself with a confident expression. "Of course it would be me."

That was a lie and Zyleth knew it better than anyone, but he couldn't show Raditz that. Raditz's main conviction for his continued growth is that he thinks that his big brother is the strongest.

He's already well outgrown his canon counterpart based on that belief.

All Zyleth had to do was keep that facade up until Raditz found an even bigger conviction than the one he had now. One that dwarfed the current one so vastly that it pushed him even further.

While Gine smiled at the interaction, Bardock looked at his eldest with a complicated gaze. He didn't know if Zyleth truly believed it himself or if he was just trying to make Raditz feel better.

A knock on their door suddenly knocked the family out of their thoughts. Getting up from their seats, Bardock and Gine walked to the front door and opened it, seeing a short purple skinned alien with a weirdly shaped head.

"Is this the residence of the Saiyan known as Zyleth?" Appule asked.

"Who wants to know?" Bardock narrowed his eyes at the purple alien.

"Lord Frieza wishes to see him immediately."

"That's the Legendary Super Saiyan? The one that everyone's talking about?"

"He's... He's just a kid! Is this supposed to be some kind of joke?!"

"Man, the Saiyans must really be losing it..."

Those were the remarks I received as I walked through the castle halls. Seems as if though the Frieza Force has gotten word of my exploits somehow. Which puzzled me at first since no Saiyan would willingly give information to Frieza or any of his forces.

Until I realized just how dumb Saiyans are.

After reaching a certain point in my training, I stopped using my Scouter to read my own power level and just sort of estimated it by sensing my energy.

Why? Because Frieza bugged the damned things.

It was fine to use them whilst in the lower ten thousands, but anything higher than that would have tipped off Frieza.

Does this power level reader have anything to do with this? No. The reason I'm even bringing it up is because some idiot probably forgot to take off their Scouter before yammering on about me.

I'm honestly surprised it took this long for Frieza to show his ugly mug. I assumed he was going to make his appearance months ago.

"He's waiting for you." Appule informed me as we approached the doors to the throne room.

He stepped off to the side and took his place beside the door, acting as some sort of guard.

"Thanks." I nodded my head at the purple alien.

For some reason, Appule's eyes widened for a second before raising an eyebrow confusion.

The hell? Has no one ever thanked you before?

Ignoring his weird expressions, I walk into the throne room and see the face of someone I had never wanted to meet.

At least not this soon.

"Well now, isn't this a surprise." The tyrant said as he looked at me with a deranged smile.
