Chapter 33

They went back to the apartment, and Lilian searched for all her valuables, but none was missing. She had thought it was an ordinary burglary, but seeing nothing valuable was missing she was a little bit scared they might be looking for her, the only thing is she can't say who she had offended this time around.

Eva told them to hurry, that they cannot say in the apartment for too long, in case the people came back, they left with Lilian's work outfits. When they got to the car, Eva dialled the police number to report the incident, and they told them to wait in the car till they got there.

When the police got to the apartment, they followed them inside to see what had happened, and Lilian explained to them that she hasn't been at home for the past few days as well. The policemen also went to check the CCTV, just to confirm what Eva had told them.

They advised Lilian to keep staying at Eva's house till everything is sorted out. Before Lilian left her apartment she went to her study to pick up the picture she placed on top of the bookshelf, before leaving.

Meanwhile, in Addy's penthouse, he was busy with some office work with Leo, after a long day of office work despite been weekend, Addy told Leo he could go home since his fiancée is back.

Leo had been sleeping in his house the past two days because they've been so busy at work and they had to wake up early to go to business meetings.

After Leo had left, he decided to have his dinner and shower before going to bed.

When he laid down, his thoughts went straight to Eva, and he dialled her number.

She had just had her shower as well and was applying her nightly facial routine before going to bed when her phone rang. 'Oh, who in the world would call me around this time' she thought.

She walked towards her phone in a hurry before it stops ringing. When she saw Addy's name on her phone, her heart skipped. She doesn't know why that happens every time she sees his name appear on her phone.

She picked up and waited for him to talk but he didn't so she checked the phone to see if it's hanged up but it's not.

"Hello, how can I help you this late?" Eva spoke

"I just want to hear your voice, I've been longing to hear your voice all day long" he replied

"How was your day?" He continued

"It was quite busy"

"Hmm, what did you do today?"

"Must I tell you what I did today?"

"I just want to know" Addy replied

He sensed she was reluctant to answer him.

"Pleeeeaaaasssseeeee"

She thought why not, she then narrated everything to him.

"Wow, you sure had an exciting day, my day was so boring, I spent the whole day on my laptop doing office work"

"But you guys need to be careful especially Lilian because those people will likely come back or even tail you.

They spoke for about an hour, talking about what they did during the day and what they assume is going to happen in Lilian's apartment.

"Will you like to go out for lunch tomorrow, I promise it is not a date, just like friends" Addy spoke

He was so anxious waiting for her to respond to his question.

Eva likes Addy, she just doesn't trust men that much. She thought about it and thought, what could harmless lunch do, before agreeing.

"Ok only this one time, and I'm only agreeing because you are an acquaintance" Eva was trying to justify herself.

"Well at least I'm not a stranger anymore" he chuckled

"Whatever" she replied shyly

"I will pick you up by 1 pm, is that ok with you?" he asked

"Yeah, that's fine. See you tomorrow" she replied

"See you, and do have a sweet dream," he said excitedly

They hanged up. Addy was so happy because this was the first time they spoke for a long period. He wants their relationship to keep improving.

He couldn't sleep well because he was so excited about the lunch date. He even had a dream about Eva, that they got married and he legally adopted Rosie as his daughter and they lived happily ever after.

When he woke up it was already past eleven in the morning, he quickly went into the bathroom to have his bath and brush his teeth. He walked into his massive walk-in wardrobe to select the outfit he would wear for the day but he was been indecisive about what to wear but decided to wear a tee-shirt and jeans, paired with white trainers.

He decides to have a slice of toast and a cup of coffee before leaving the house. He told his driver he would drive himself today.

He arrived at Eva's mansion, ten minutes to the appointed time, so he decided to wait till the exact time before calling her.

She stepped out of the house in a simple but gorgeous knee-length red dress, with her hair down.

Addy was mesmerized and smitten seeing her, he could never get enough of her beauty.

He quickly got out of his car and went to the other side of the car to open the door for her.

"You look so gorgeous" Addy made his comment

"Thanks" she replied as she blushed

He opened the door for her and guided her head so she won't bump it. As she got in, she could smell his cologne, she took a deep breath to inhale the nice smell.

As Addy entered the car and they were about to leave, she asked where they were going, but Addy told her it's a surprise.

She eventually gave up trying to get information on where they were going.

Addy tried to make small talks on their way, but Eva's mind was on the incident that had happened the previous day. He noticed she was so quiet.

"What's wrong?" he asked

"Oh its nothing" she replied.
