Chapter 19

It was time for dinner and everyone was at the table waiting for Lilian, so Eva went up to get her, but on getting to her room she realised she had slept off, she turned off the room lights and shut the curtains, so she would be able to sleep for a long time.

"We can all eat, she's sleeping," she said as she came down the stairs.

"Hope she's ok?" Her grandma asked

"I doubt it but I'm sure she will be fine" Eva replied

"Aunty Lilian is a superwoman so she's strong" Rosie smiled

"She sure is" Eva replied with a big smile as she patted her on the head.

After dinner, the three of them went to the living room while everyone else went to do their duties.

"Grandma, how was your day, Hope you weren't too bored?" Eva asked

"Not really, I was quite busy in the kitchen, so I didn't have much time to lounge around" Grandma replied

"Were you cooking again?" Eva asked knowing her grandma loves cooking and despite her health and being old she's still so active in the kitchen.

"Well I had some help" grandma defended herself

"Are you available next week?" Eva asked. She has booked an appointment with the doctors, to do a full body checkup for her grandma.

"Why I'm busy" grandma replied

"Grandma we all know you are not busy, it a surprise, I just want to know if you've got any appointments for next week"

"Who told you I'm not busy, my schedule is full for next week" grandma scoffed

"Ok, what are you doing next week and is it throughout the week?"

"Well I'm going to be so busy"

"Grandma just asked my question busy doing what?"

"Well I've booked an appointment with Mr sleep and that appointment can't be cancelled," she said shamelessly

Eva was so speechless and didn't know how to react.

"So you want to sleep throughout next week, well that's fine, you will only sleep at night on the day of the appointment"

"No I can't, and it's not negotiable, I'm also a busy woman you know and I already told you, I'm staying for just a week"

"Grandma, I know you are not busy and you do not have an appointment next week, I'm just asking so you won't say I didn't ask you before making a decision for you"

"Whats the appointment for?"

"Grandma you will find out when we get there"

"Did you finish your assignments baby?" Eva asked Rosie. Rosie is been home-schooled and she has hired private tutors to be teaching her.

"Yes mummy, I have finished everything Aunty Angie helped me out" Angie is her nanny, but she always called her aunty because her mom would not be happy if she called her by her name. Her mom told her everyone living with them are family and she must treat them with respect.

Eva phone rang. She checked her phone to see who was calling, it's her brother Liam.

"Hello Sis, why didn't you come for mom's birthday, she said she invited you"

"I was busy and couldn't cancel any of my appointments but I sent her something, which I doubt she appreciated but you know her anyways to be dramatic in everything she does" Eva replied

Eva and her younger brother are very close, but he's the favourite child of their parents

"I know, I told her, you would have come if you weren't busy"

"How's Rosie?" He continued

"She's good " she replied

"I'm calling to let you know I would be coming to visit this coming weekend"

"Yeah sure no worries"

After she hanged up, she realised Rosie was falling asleep when Angie came into the living room, so she can take her to bed.

"Don't worry I will put her to bed myself?" Eva said as she picked Rosie up to take her to bed

"Good night Grandma... Oh before I forget, Lilian will be at home tomorrow, I've given her day off" Eva continued

"Alright, no worries. I will soon be going to bed soon as well" her grandmother replied

After putting Rosie in bed, she went to her room and decided to do some office work since Lilian won't be available the next day. She finished organising her plans for the next day very late.

It was about three in the morning when she checked the time and decided to go to bed.

When she laid down, her thoughts drifted to the baby scan picture she saw at Lilian's house and what she said in the car. She felt bad for Lilian to have gone through what she went through and she just hopes that she will be fine and genuinely happy again.

She slowly slept off.

In the morning, she woke up feeling tired but have to go to work because of some important clients coming.

When she got downstairs, everyone was present except for Lilian, she told everyone to go ahead with their foods.

After breakfast, she decided to go check up on Lilian before going to work and realised she was still sleeping. She slightly tapped her to wake up so she can have something to eat but she noticed her body was super hot

"Oh no Lilian, you are burning up"

"Hmmm" Lilian was semi-unconscious

"I will have to call the doctor, to come to check you out"

Immediately she left the room to call her family doctor and instructed Rhoda to make her some porridge, she also told her grandmother to keep an eye on her, because she has to go to work and she's running late.
