Managing a family isn't easy. There are a lot of different tasks that need to be fulfilled.

Including distributing resources, listening and reading reports about the various situations of the forces. Keeping watch for potential opportunities for the family or potential threats, especially within the cities they are situated.

For example a marriage between two forces causing an alliance between the two.

When Samuel is yet to be in a position of overwhelming influence, it is incredibly risky to watch opponents grow without being controlled.

But at the same time it could be an opportunity for Samuel to grow.

Today he is taking Situ to propose to a family. Although he is young there is nothing wrong with a prearranged marriage.

In the future if Situ wants someone else as a partner there is nothing wrong with him taking a concubine, it is just the way that the world here works.

The family selected this time is one of the few Rank E Families in the City. But what makes it interesting is the Status of the Girl that Samuel selected for Situ.

It is the second in line for the Head position. Her name is Vulpine, and actually has a Rank 2 Spiritual Root.

This would be one of the more talented Daughter In Laws that Samuel would have. However what he focuses on is her status.

His family have had frequent interactions with the Mistletoe Organisation, Vulpines home organisation and Samuel couldn't be happier allying with them. The intention behind it is to actually absorb the Organisation into his family.

Although Vulpine is only the Second in line for the Family, she has shown incredible talent for management.

Oh right it is worth mentioning, Vulpine is already 20 years old, quite an age difference in comparison to Situ, but in the future such an age difference is negligible.

But limited by her own talent, Vulpine wasn't a candidate for the Head position, because her older brother has a Three Inch Spiritual Root.

However he is a Practice Nut, he doesn't do anything except for practising, and through the secret spy Dogs of War he has placed in the Organisation as early as a year ago, he found that the duo were secretly sharing responsibilities.

While Samuel was preparing to take his young son to the Mistletoe Compound to confirm the proposal, a feisty redhead woman was staring at a quivering young figure below her.

''Useless! My father actually arranged for me to get married and you didn't know about it until now?''

She shouted angrily, her face contorted slightly squashing the freckles on her face together.

This is Vulpine, Samuels future Daughter In law.

''Leave!'' She shouted at her subordinate who had grown up with her, her eyes turning slightly frosty.

''Dam it, I was just starting to gain control of the Organisation, why does there have to be a wedding right now?''

''But that Situ Child is from the Dog of War Organisation, although not as old as us they are definitely not to be underestimated.'' Vulpine held her chin slightly.

Since she was a child, under her mothers prompting she was determined to take over the Organisations power. It was only then that her mother revealed to her that she had been secretly cultivating a force.

Although only twenty men, they were all loyal and trustworthy, more importantly they were all hired without her fathers knowledge.

All of these people were placed under Vulpines control and with the trust her brother had given her, she slowly promoted them to positions of power within the organisation.

But she lacked high end combat power. Her brother has the potential to become a Rank 3 Warrior and is already one of the Strongest fighters in the Family with Middle Rank 2 strength.

And the current head and three elders are all rank 2 Warriors.

''Am I going to have to rely on outside forces?'' Just when Vulpine was thinking how to react when the marriage is brought up,

''Aigh you don't need to think about them too much, just use them for your own advantage and once you take over the organisation I will help you to crush them.''

A pleasant and melodious voice came out of the shadows. Slowly they condensed revealing a small cute figure who looked like a teenager.

''With my experience I am sure to allow you to raise a small organisation into a towering tree. Even becoming a reputable Family on the Eternal Battlefield in a few million years isn't an issue.''

The girl's voice was sweet but her words were shocking.

But Vulpine knew that she wasn't joking. Although she didn't know why this girl would help her she did know a bit of her background.

She was a Spirit, a celestial and translucent figure condensed out of will and luck that once helped a strong family rise. But the family that had her support crumbled and she was imprisoned.

After hundreds of millions of years the family that imprisoned her was actually destroyed, and the tower she was sealed in was destroyed in was gone as well.

Her body was scattered and finally a piece of her soul reformed on a corner of the Eternal Battlefield.

Vulpine accidentally angered her and was almost destroyed, but she managed to se Vulpines true wishes to take over the family.

And the Spirit who relies on the influence of a Family to grow stronger found Vulpine and wanted to take her as her follower.

Of course Vulpine accepted, and with the Spirits help she was able to slowly take over the family's influence.

But Vulpine can't be considered a Daughter of luck, at most she can be considered a supporting character offering a pedestal for the real Child Of Luck here, the Spirit Girl.
