One by one, soul-level Titans and Celestial beings hovered in the air, eyeing the legendary eight-armed serpent demon encircled at the center, their fighting spirit surging.
"Merely soul-level!" Realizing the Abyssal Gate had been modified into a one-way portal, the eight-armed serpent demon, after an initial panic, calmed down. Legends of the Abyss are forged through battle, and they possess a foundational resilience.
"You wish to kill me!" The eight-armed serpent demon, sensing the murderous intent from all directions, had its snake-scaled face twist into a grimace of ferocity. She was a legend, yet here she was, surrounded by a group of soul-level beings openly eager to slay her.
"Legendary demon, so what? It's not like we haven't killed one before," a Titan wielding a battle halberd commented nonchalantly.
"Haha, I envy your Titan clan, being able to construct an Abyssal Gate and having endless demons to slay for practice. In the Boundless Heavens, no such malevolent constructions can exist."
"Your Titan lands actually have legendary demons for us to hunt, this is truly exhilarating."
Almost all the Celestial beings, seeing the legendary demon, showed no signs of fear. Each one was eager to join the battle; such encounters with evil creatures are impossible in the Boundless Heavens.
Compared to the excited Celestials, the Titans in the Abyssal Training Ground seemed much more composed. As the Titan who had spoken earlier indicated, this wasn't their first time encircling a legendary demon; they had grown accustomed to such battles.
"Roar!" The eight-armed serpent demon, infuriated by the eager deities surrounding her, exclaimed: "Even if you are Titans and Celestials, you cannot underestimate a legend. You will all die!"
With the demon's roar, eight dark and filthy blade beams slashed towards the Titans and Celestials in every direction, carrying an unstoppable rage and a hint of desperate madness. She foresaw her imminent demise.
As the serpent demon struck, the Titans and excited Celestials quickly moved to block her attacks, and the battle erupted in an instant... A group of the highest caliber soul-level beings began to surround and attack the legend.
Muria watched with an indescribable shock as the battle exploded before him. Sword energies tore through space, blade lights cleaved countless mountains, and spear forces swept across the land, carving miles-long trenches.
The entire Abyssal Training Ground trembled under this combat, seemingly on the verge of shattering from the force of Titans, Celestials, and the legendary demon.
"Eh!" Muria was somewhat speechless to see nearly all Titans and Celestials engaging in the battle against the eight-armed serpent demon, but the Celestial who had blocked the initial legendary strike didn't move.
"Why aren't you joining the battle?" At this moment, Heloice, looking puzzled, addressed the Celestial wrapped in white-hot flames standing in front of Muria.
Muria looked at Heloice somewhat speechlessly; just moments ago, he had seen this Titan girl eager to join the fray, only to be stopped by a peak soul-level Titan in front of her, preventing her from entering the battle.
At soul-level one, Heloice could not withstand even a casual strike from a legendary demon. Joining the battle would be akin to suicide. But the situation was different for the Celestial before Muria.
Neither Muria nor Heloice believed the Celestial before them was avoiding the fight out of fear. Impossible. This Celestial, who had appeared first and blocked a legendary attack, was a peak soul-level fighter, undoubtedly capable of and willing to battle a legend.
"Just wait a moment!" The Celestial in front of Muria responded gently to Heloice's somewhat accusatory tone, showing no displeasure.
"Wait for what?" Muria, puzzled, gazed at the Celestial in front, speculating, "The best moment to strike? To severely wound the legendary demon with one blow?"
Muria didn't ponder for long before he saw what the powerful Celestial was waiting for.
Near Muria, another dazzling teleportation array appeared, smaller than the previous ones that had transported soul-level Titans and Celestials. Under Muria's curious watch, another Celestial engulfed in white-hot flames appeared and charged towards the fiercely destructive legendary battlefield without hesitation.
"I knew you would come." The Celestial hovering before Muria murmured softly, then made a move.
"Clatter!" Chains of pure white shot from the Celestial, entirely cloaked in white-hot flames, speeding towards a small figure emitting a golden-level power surge about to reach the edge of the battlefield.
Under Muria's sharp gaze, he clearly saw this golden-level Celestial wielding a long spear, seemingly trying to break the chains that had caught up to her.
To no avail, she shattered three chains into fragments of white-hot flames, only to be entangled by others, then bound and dragged back towards Muria's direction.
"Let me go!" As the Celestial grew closer, Muria heard her indignant shout, "I want to join the fight, Silvestre, by what right do you restrain me?"
"Because I'm your brother." Silvestre responded simply, his body enveloped in diminishing flames revealing his handsome face and lean figure, along with the eight pairs of snow-white wings on his back.
Silvestre turned, facing Muria and Heloice, pointing to the Celestial bound in chains of white-hot flames beside him, "This is my sister, Migalea. She loves fighting strong opponents. My apologies for her behavior."
"Full of courage." Heloice looked at the golden-level Celestial eager to rush into the legendary battlefield, nodding in appreciation, her face showing admiration.
Muria silently observed the siblings, noting something extraordinary. All Celestials he had encountered previously had three pairs of wings. Even now, among those who had scattered their flames in battle with the
legendary demon, revealing their forms, he saw six wings.
But here before him, Silvestre had eight wings, and the somewhat reckless young Celestial, Migalea, even more astonishingly, had ten wings flaming in incandescent fire behind her.
"You..." Muria was just marveling at the number of wings on the Celestial girl when his gaze shifted to her face, and he found himself speechless, stunned by her beauty.
Words like "nation-toppling beauty" or "shaming the moon and flowers" didn't even come to mind. In that moment, Muria felt as though his world had lost its color, turning to shades of black and white, with even the roaring sounds of battle in the distance fading to near silence.
Only Migalea, still radiant and seemingly more luminous, drew his gaze inexorably, his breath quickening.
"Why are you looking at me?" Migalea noticed Muria's persistent gaze, her finely arched eyebrows lifting slightly in a not-so-friendly scrutiny.
"Cough!" Awakened by the girl's clear, resonant voice, Muria finally snapped out of his reverie, the sounds of the distant battlefield flooding back into his ears. Under Silvestre's slightly narrowed eyes and Heloice's mildly puzzled look, Muria awkwardly touched his nose and coughed.
"I was looking at your wings. You're different from other Celestials; they only have three pairs, but you have five," Muria quickly said, pointing at Migalea's blazing wings in an attempt to cover his earlier lapse.
"You were looking at my wings?" Migalea frowned prettily, eyeing the somewhat odd Titan youth before her. She had felt his gaze not just on her wings, but on her...
"Alright, Migalea, stay put. I'm joining the battle," Silvestre spoke up, having waited for his sister to appear and caught her. Flames enveloped him in an instant, his eagerness for battle no longer containable.
"Wait, brother, I want to fight too," Migalea protested, no longer concerned about what Muria had been looking at, but visibly annoyed with her brother who had bound her tightly.
Ignoring his sister's protest, Silvestre looked towards Heloice and Muria, "Could I trouble you to look after my wayward sister? Keep her away from the battlefield."
"No problem!" Muria agreed without hesitation, his expression composed as he suppressed a thrill of joy within.
Silvestre paused slightly at Muria's response, then nodded. His eight wings fluttered, transforming him into a comet as he rushed towards the battlefield where Titans, Celestials, and the legendary demon clashed.
Twin radiant sword lights followed Silvestre as he approached, slicing towards the serpent demon wielding eight scimitars. With just one blade, the legendary serpent blocked Silvestre's twin sword strike.
Simultaneously, the serpent used her other seven scimitars to parry the attacks of the other Titans and Celestials, and her body remained unscathed thus far.
Serpent demons are renowned for their melee prowess in the Abyss, lacking any spell-like abilities but possessing a physique far stronger than other demons and sword skills honed through endless combat.
