"There were many similar incidents," Bronia simply listed a few reasons why she referred to Dimos as the source of calamity.
"Being with your grandfather often meant being inexplicably attacked. That period was the most troublesome time for me, constantly fighting unexpected battles.
By the end, I was thoroughly sick of it. If it weren't for your grandmother insisting on staying with Dimos, I would have gone as far from him as possible—the farther, the better."
Muria touched his nose speechlessly, not quite knowing how to respond. That a battle-loving red dragon would grow to detest fighting suggested just how strong his grandfather Dimos' ability to attract calamities was; he truly was a source of disaster.
"I always followed your grandmother, fighting for her. But as time passed, your grandfather became stronger and stronger, and the calamities he attracted became larger and larger.
I don't know how he managed it, but he transported nearly ten dragons, including us, into the Abyss, landing right on the battlefield of the eternal war between hell and the abyss, though fortunately, we were only at the edge of the battlefield."
Recalling this, a hint of fear appeared in Bronia's eyes. "There, I experienced a taste of death so close it was terrifying. A demon lord tore my body apart, and before it killed me, it began to devour half of my body while I was still alive."
"I must have looked quite pathetic," Bronia said, her eyes reflecting a sense of desolation. "Hey, when I was about to be eaten by the demon lord, left with just my head and a small part of my body, your grandfather saved me.
What happened next, I don't remember. My injuries were too severe, and I passed out.
I only remember that after that incident, I was no longer a follower of Yarlista. Your grandmother refused my request to continue following her and asked me to stay on the continent of Osniro.
Because my strength couldn't keep up with theirs anymore, I had become a burden to both of them."
"Then you've stayed here ever since?" Muria asked, somewhat stunned.
"Yes," Bronia nodded. "This is where I bid farewell to your grandmother Yarlista. She said that even if I no longer followed her, she would not forget me and would often come back to see me."
"So, you've stayed here for over two hundred years?" Muria was shocked by the dragon before him; he had always wondered why a powerful ancient red dragon would choose such a desolate hill area to nest.
It all became clear now; Bronia had made her nest here simply to make it easy for her grandmother to find her when she came to visit.
"Of course," Bronia admitted candidly. "After that, your grandmother really did come back to see me, though it took over fifty years. But I was still very happy.
Descendant of Yarlista, guess who your grandmother brought to visit me?"
"My mother?" Muria guessed, raising an eyebrow.
"Exactly, Yarlista came to see me with her daughter, born to Dimos and herself," Bronia's face showed a hint of gloom. "Your mother lived up to the dragon lineage; every time she visited, my wealth would shrink a bit."
"Heh heh." Hearing of his mother's past "glorious" deeds, Muria laughed awkwardly.
"Wait a second, Iapetos? I remember that surname now," Bronia, having finished recounting her past, suddenly had a flash of insight, noticing something odd about Muria.
"That's the surname of the Titans. When Atrelis said she wanted to make that Titan named Ansor her mate, I thought she was joking, but she was actually serious."
"So, you're not a pureblood golden dragon but a hybrid of Titan and dragon," Bronia revealed, looking intently at Muria, who had transformed into human form.
"It's incredible, Muria. Can you revert to your true form for me to see? Your ability to conceal your presence is as strong as your grandmother's. If it weren't for your surname, I wouldn't understand the strange feeling you give me."
"Of course." Hearing the ancient red dragon mention his parents, Muria perked up, dispelling his transformation spell to revert to his nearly sixty meters tall Titan dragon form.
"Lady Bronia, do you know how my parents met and came together?"
"You don't need to use honorifics with me, Muria, just call me by my name," Bronia said, her attitude towards Muria exceptionally gentle due to his grandmother. "I know some about how your parents met, but honestly, I didn't expect them to end up together."
"How did my parents meet?" Muria's curiosity was piqued. He had always wondered how his father, the legendary Titan Ansor, and his mother Atrelis had become mates.
"Your father Ansor was a battle fanatic, something you're aware of, right?"
"I know," Muria nodded. In his memory, his father was either going to battle or on his way to battle; he seemed never to rest.
"Like you, your father traveled to different continents before he came of age, challenging the geniuses and strong beings of various races, almost constantly fighting."
"I'm not like my father," Muria thought to himself. His father Ansor had done it voluntarily, while he had been forced by his mother.
"At that time, your mother, as the progeny of two ancestor golden dragons, was renowned among the dragon kind. So, your father Ansor sought her out, seeing her as a worthy opponent to challenge."
"So, you're saying my parents met and fought on their first encounter," Muria commented internally, then looked at Bronia, "What was the outcome of my parents' first battle?"
"Your mother was too proud then because of her lineage; almost no dragon could match her. Thus, she underestimated your father's challenge," Bronia sighed softly. "The result was that your mother was defeated by your father."
"And then?" Muria continued to inquire eagerly, curious about how exactly they went from that first encounter to becoming lifelong partners.
"Being underestimated and defeated by your father Ansor, your mother was not willing to accept that. At the time, she held the title of the foremost genius golden dragon of the new generation among the dragons.
Such a defeat was not only a humiliation for her but also for the entire dragon race."
