"Hey, did you see last night's battle? It was truly eye-opening! The legendary Demon Hunter Knight actually appeared."
"I saw, but I heard that the monster, as terrifying as a demon, was our lord, Marquis Mendoza himself. Is that true?"
"It's being spread all over Valiant, it should be true."
"I can't believe it, such an elegant and noble lord, his true form turned out to be such a terrifying monster."
"Elegant and noble my foot, that was a disguise. Mendoza is a demon, a monster that gnaws on human flesh and devours souls."
"Exactly, luckily the legendary Demon Hunter Knight appeared, saw through his disguise. Otherwise, we in Valiant wouldn't know how many people would die every day."
"So, the missing people in Valiant were eaten by the demonic Marquis Mendoza?"
"Definitely! To him, our Valiant must have seemed like a farm, and we were his bred food. Recently, my neighbor's cousin's son disappeared, maybe he was captured and eaten in the castle."
"By the way, be careful what you say. I heard that the guards and maids in Mendoza's castle have all turned into monsters. In last night's battle, the Demon Hunter Knight didn't have time to deal with them, and many escaped, lurking in the city. If they hear what you're saying, they might target you, then come find you at night, and then, hehe."
"Shh! Don't scare me like that, okay?"
"What are you scared of! The Demon Hunter Knight hasn't left yet, still in Valiant. As long as the knight is here, I don't believe those monsters dare to jump around."
"That's true, with the Demon Hunter Knight here, we can sleep peacefully, no need to worry about those monsters. The real worry is for those monsters, better not let the Demon Hunter Knight find them."
"Speaking of which, last night, the knight riding a mount like a unicorn, wearing golden armor, was that really the legendary Demon Hunter Knight? Demon Hunter Knights, supposed to only exist in the stories of bards. How could they actually appear?"
"Definitely the Demon Hunter Knight, golden armor, beast-shaped helmet, and the combat power to dominate over demons, everything matches the description of the Demon Hunter Knight in the stories."
"Who knows if someone's impersonating, a knight that's been missing for so long."
"What the hell are you saying?"
"Hey, talk nicely, no need to fight."
"The Demon Hunter Knight definitely exists, never disappeared. They've always been silently guarding humanity's heroes, how could they vanish."
...
Following the brown-haired middle-aged man, Muria stopped, looking at a young man arguing heatedly with someone, the first to suggest fighting when someone questioned the existence of Demon Hunter Knights.
"Young man, why aren't you moving?" The middle-aged man in front saw Muria stop, hurriedly ran over, following his gaze to a group discussing Demon Hunter Knights.
"Did you see last night's battle?"
"Too far away." The middle-aged man showed a bit of embarrassment. In truth, hearing the battle's thunderous noise, he hid under the bed, not daring to go out and watch.
"They say the one who killed Marquis Mendoza was a Demon Hunter Knight?"
"That's what they say, but who knows if it's true." The middle-aged man laughed, "I grew up listening to stories of Demon Hunter Knights, but I've only heard of their existence in bard stories. They're just legends.
This is the first time I've heard a real story about Demon Hunter Knights, and it happened in the city I live in."
"You don't believe in the existence of Demon Hunter Knights?"
"Knights who hunt all monsters harming humanity, protectors of the human race, according to stories, even red dragons flee upon seeing Demon Hunter Knights, I don't believe such beings exist.
Alright, let's not talk about this anymore, young man, I'll take you over. We're almost there."
After a few words, the middle-aged man stopped talking and urged Muria to continue following him.
"Lead the way!" Muria continued to follow the middle-aged man expressionlessly.
Watching him lead through twists and turns into a narrow alley, Muria remained silent, not starting a conversation, just watching the leading middle-aged man, whose expression became more and more triumphant and excited.
"Here we are!" In a dark alley, the middle-aged man turned with a triumphant look, facing Muria, "Young lad, take off all your armor. Be honest, don't think about struggling or resisting."
"This isn't the ruins of Marquis Mendoza's castle, you, deceived me." Muria looked at the middle-aged man expressionlessly.
"So what if I deceived you?" The kind smile had disappeared, replaced by a greedy and somewhat ugly look, the middle-aged man laughed triumphantly, "Young lad, let me teach you something, don't blindly trust a stranger's words.
Sigh, you rich young masters, just too curious, think too highly of yourselves, really think the world revolves around you?"
Muria turned his head, noticing two burly men coming from behind, blocking the only exit of this narrow alley.
"You want to rob me?" Muria looked at the middle-aged man with a look as if viewing an idiot. He didn't ride the giant wolf, but he hadn't taken off his armor.
This was one of the few sets of armor he had taken from the crystal castle of the Golden Dragon Mother, one of the few that didn't incorporate legendary metals, so it wasn't thrown into the Eternal Flame.
As for why he took it, it was because the armor's style was particularly good-looking, very cool, so Muria took it and wore it.
Compared to Muria's exclusive armor, Holy Royal Abyss, this set was obviously inferior, but in the human realms, it was definitely top-notch, enough to be a noble family's heirloom. Frankly, wearing this armor, Muria really hadn't expected anyone would dare to target him.
"Don't look at me with that kind of eyes, young lad." The middle-aged man was still laughing triumphantly, "I know you have some background, you might be some big merchant's offspring, or some noble's child, otherwise, how could you wear such good-looking armor.
But who let you sneak out, I've observed, there's no one hidden around to protect you."
Summer insects cannot speak of ice, or perhaps, greed blinds the eyes. Muria couldn't be bothered to respond further, the person in front of him was too low-level, not even knowing what level his armor was.
Just knowing his armor was precious, then seeing his youthful appearance, they targeted him, considering him a rich young master who had sneaked out.
