|Donodos Iranys - Merchant of Braavos|
Today is not my day.
"Check the goods! We don't want them to be damaged!"
I order my men to check the goods in the storage room. Because of an unexpected snowstorm, we must change the direction of our destination. We want to go to the Karhold where Karstark rules.
We will trade our goods, mostly food, to the Karstark in exchange for a lot of timber, but three of our ships sink and make this journey a waste because of the snowstorm. No! What makes matters worse is that we are in the place that I did not want, but because our ship is damaged, we need to stop in this place.
Where is this place? This is Skagos Island, the island that is filled with savages and barbarians who eat humans. What makes humans even worse? Make them savages and have taste in human flesh.
The only thing that I need to do is to make sure the food in my ship did not get destroyed and make sure I did not lose even more profit, and I also need to use that food to feed my men and myself. Urgh. How much loss do I need to take?
"All of the goods are in good condition, sir."
"Good. Good. How is the ship?"
"The ship is badly damaged from the iceberg that we also crashed into but fixable. We have many trees around us."
"Good. How long will it take?"
"Three days, sir."
"Three days?! Can't you guys fix it faster?!"
"That is the fastest, sir."
"Damn it!"
Three days?! In the land that always snows? Gods, I hate this land.
"Very well! Cut down the tree! We need them!"
"I hope you did not do that."
I quickly take my short sword out and point it at the sound coming from my back. I looked around for a few seconds and did not see anything. I look at my men and see that they also hear that.
However, after waiting for a few seconds, I see a group of people walk out of the forest. Thirty or more people were walking out of the woods. What makes me even more nervous is that they are fully equipped.
Leather armor that protects their body, a longbow behind their back, and a rapier on their hip.
Leading this group is a young man with green hair and green eyes. It did not look normal, but at the same time, it matched the young man. It looks natural and unnatural at the same time. It is very unsettling.
"I hope you did not cut our tree without permission from us."
"W-who are you?"
"We are the people of Skagos, and you are currently in our land."
"Ah"
They are the so-called savages?! I looked at them and noted they were even cleaner than my men, and I ordered them to clean themselves every two days. Not only that, but they also hold themselves more of a knight than a barbarian.
"I'm really sorry, but our ship needs to be prepared. I'm sorry for offending you and your people."
The young man looked at me for a few seconds before nodding his head.
"Very well. You are forgiven."
"... Then can we use the tree?"
"We will give you the timber you need, but you need to give something to us in return. You are a merchant, no? You give us something, and in return, we will give you something."
Before I could say something, one of my men decided to say something stupid.
"And why should we do that?! We have one hundred and fifty men on our side. We can kill you and your men and take your belongings."
Before I could apologize for my stupid men, the young man stabbed the staff he was holding to the ground, and suddenly the ground underneath us started to shake. A second later, all of us get trapped inside a tree and cannot move our bodies.
"And we will kill you. We are a peaceful people, but we also have to endure a lot. We will not let anyone step on us without a fight. We will give you a second chance, but we will not give you a third chance. Please act carefully before we need to do something permanently."
With the wave of his hand, the tree goes back to the earth. However, before I could do anything, the stupid bastard decided to take out his sword and charge at the Magician in front of me. However, before he could even get close, the men around him had already taken action.
In a matter of a few seconds, that bastard already lost his head. I look at the two swordsmen standing next to the young man who appears next to the bastard with their swords in his hands. I also noticed a group of people standing on the tree with bows in hand. There are many of them, around a hundred of them.
How did I not see them?! We are not outnumbering them; we are the ones that are outnumbered.
"Do you also agree with him?"
"No. I will not attack you," I glare at the rest of my men for a second before looking back at the young man. "We ask for a guess, right."
"Very well. Bread and Salt shall be given. Please follow me. You can bring ten of your men with you and leave the rest here. I will give you five minutes."
I nod my head and walk toward my quartermaster before saying.
"I will leave the ship to you. Also, prepare the ten strongest men on this ship. I will take them with me."
"Yes, sir."

I know that the rumor is a lie. If this city is a city full of barbarians, then King Landing is a city filled with people who are less than shit. The city of Nethilor is a medium-sized city filled with trees.
There is no weird smell in this city. The street is clean, and many people are walking around with a smile on their faces. However, the massive tree in front of me makes me even more surprised. The tree-covered the entire city and cast its shadow upon it as if it was a massive hand of God protecting the city.
After another minute of walking, we arrived in front of a massive mansion underneath the massive tree. We get inside the mansion and arrive inside the meeting room. After the young man sitting on the opposite side of me, he looks me right in the eyes and says,
"So, what is your offer and want?"
