**Shinso's POV**
I was lying on my bed, replaying the events of the day over and over in my mind. I had actually made friends who knew about my quirk and still accepted me. That thought alone made me smile. It was something I thought I'd never find.
Knock knock. A soft knocking at my door interrupted my thoughts. It was my mother. "Son, it's a letter from UA."
My heart skipped a beat. I took the letter from her hands and stared at it for a while, feeling a mix of anticipation and dread. I had just found friends who accepted me, and now I was afraid I wouldn't be able to join them at UA. I knew I didn't destroy many robots, so the chances of passing felt slim. With a deep breath, I opened the letter and found a video inside. I played it and was greeted by the image of a tired-looking man with a white scarf.
This isn't a good sign, I thought, immediately bracing myself for bad news.
"You're probably thinking, 'This is a random guy. I probably didn't pass,' right?" The man said, his voice steady. I was shocked. This guy was self-aware.
"The reason why I am here instead of the principal is because I took a special interest in you, but I will talk about this at the end of the video," the man continued. Confusion swept over me. This guy took a special interest in me?
"You only got 8 points in the exam," he stated plainly. My heart sank. I was absolutely crushed. There's no way I'm passing, I thought.
"But there were some hidden points in the exam—rescue points. You used your brainwashing to assist a bunch of students, which will give you 20 extra points. But sadly, this isn't enough for you to pass." For a brief moment, my hopes lifted, but they plummeted just as quickly. The only reason I'm still watching this is to know what this guy wants from me, I thought.
"You didn't pass the exam, but I've made arrangements for you to go to the general studies course." Confusion hit me again. Why am I going there if I didn't pass?
"If the exam wasn't about fighting robots, I firmly believe you would have passed. But still, there are some flaws. You rely too much on your quirk and neglect your physique. So even if the exam wasn't about fighting robots, there was a chance you wouldn't pass. But this is where I come in. In general studies, students get opportunities to transfer to the hero course, and I will be helping you train personally because your quirk and mine are suitable for taking down villains easily. So, Shinso, I will be expecting you soon."
The video ended, but it left me with a lot of questions. I sat there in silence for a moment, processing everything. I didn't pass the hero course exam, but I still had a chance. The man in the video saw potential in me, and he was willing to train me personally. The thought was overwhelming.
I knew one thing for sure: I would see my new friends soon.
I rushed downstairs to share the news with my mom. "Mom, I got into UA's general studies course!" I said, excitement evident in my voice.
Her face lit up with pride. "Oh, honey, that's wonderful news! I'm so proud of you!"
I nodded, a smile spreading across my face. "There's more. One of the teachers is going to help me train personally so I can transfer to the hero course."
My mom's eyes widened. "That's amazing! You're going to do great things, I just know it."
I spent the rest of the evening thinking about my new friends and the journey ahead. I couldn't wait to tell them about the teacher who saw potential in me and the opportunity I had to transfer into the hero course. For the first time in a long time, I felt hopeful about the future.
Sorry for the short chapter, but I wanted to share some exciting news. I’m planning to work on a third fanfiction. It's in the same situation as the other two I mentioned. The original is called *Blue Flame* by BANIX. It's an incredible story with massive potential. Unfortunately, there are only seven chapters so far, but they are really good.
