Chapter 1

(Read the note in the Auxiliary chapters before you start reading this story. It is important.)

"The sky was dark, filled with black clouds, and the ground had various cracks, with lava boiling between them.

As if the environment wasn't upsetting, one could hear screams of women, shouting in pain, rage and fear.

Among all the screams, one name was audible everywhere "Scarlet". Some were calling out for her begging for help, while others were cursing her for letting them die.

Then a face came into view, with blood dripping from the corner of her mouth.

She smiled and said "You were a good boy. You didn't cry at all, exactly what I would expect from my son."

Her face had the aura of a mother. Then a male voice came from behind her "I knew you had a son."

She didn't turn or loose the smile on her face. She just said "Only a fool wouldn't notice that my power didn't increase after that day. So, they are after you too?"

"Obviously, we both are their main targets. What are you going to do now?" asked the voice.

"I can't let him die. This isn't his destiny. Time to pay back what you owe me." she said.

"Well, it doesn't look like we will have any more time, but you also know that I lost all my divinity when I came here." the voice said.

"Well, not like he needs your power to grow stronger. I can use all my strength to send him from here, just buy me some time." she said and her face moved far, showing her body.

Besides the perfect boobs and body, he noticed black wings behind her and a pair of red horns on her head.

She moved her hands and some weird drawings appeared and floated in front of her hands. As she was doing that, the sound of someone breaking the door was heard, along with a shout "They are here, don't let them go. We can't let them live."

The owner of the voice from before said "Hurry up, i don't think I can get that much time in my current weakened state."

Then there were many screams, battle cries while the woman mumbled something and moved her hands in the air. The owner of the voice from before said "Although I can't give him what I gave others, these are the only things I can give him in my current state."

After a weird feeling, there was a bright light from the woman's hands and the vision went blind. She said "Don't forgot .." and a metallic sound rang everywhere."

Then suddenly, I found my roof which I stare at everyday. I didn't understand what that weird dream was. I had glimpses of this same dream ever since I turned 7 last month.

It was supposed to be a dream, but I remember it even after waking up and it felt so real. I held my head, recalling every detail from the dream.

Then I turned off the alarm that woke me up. As I looked at the time in the clock, I remembered that I had to meet Luna, my mom's friend. We were going out to play and were supposed to meet near a cafe and walk together to the park.

I yawned while stretching my arms and felt something on my cheeks. I looked in the mirror and found tears, but brushed it of thinking that they were tears from my yawning.

I got ready and I was going down, when two smooth, slender arms grabbed me from behind. I said "Mom, I am already running late, let go."

She rubbed her cheek against mine and said "Oh, My Itsuki has already started ignoring his mother due to a girl." in a playful tone.

I smiled and kissed her cheek and said "I don't want to keep her waiting."

She let me go and said "Be careful Itsuki, the streets of New York aren't that safe." and I just smiled back at her while wearing my shoes in a hurry.

My mom's name is Chikage, 18 years old. She works at a jwellery shop and often returns home late as she has to check if all the jwellery are safe and no worker slipped one into their pockets.

We both don't have last names as we both are orphans. She didn't even try to hide it when I asked why I don't have a last name.

She could have come up with one, but she choose not to. As for the reason, she refused to say it.

With many thoughts in my head, I made it safely to the cafe where I was supposed to meet Luna. She is the daughter of my mom's colleague, who works at the jwellery shop.

As I was waiting outside the cafe, I heard someone call out my name. I looked to my side and found a girl with short blonde hair and blue eyes. She also had two long and thin bangs on either side of her cheeks.

She smiled and waved at me. I also returned the same and looked as she came running towards me.

That's when suddenly, there was a huge explosion in the cafe beside me and the glass door and windows burst, with flames and smoke escaping out.

Since I wasn't standing before the cafe and Luna also was only close to the cafe, but the shockwave and heat wave from the bast was enough to damage our tiny bodies.

I was sent flying. I fell on the ground and my whole body was aching, screaming out in pain.

At first, I wanted to scream, I wanted to cry, but immediately, I lost all those thoughts, as if my mind was asking me to calm down.

There were people around me who were running away from the cafe while screaming. They were least bothered about others, all just wanted to save themselves.

I looked around for Luna and found her lying unconsciously on the other side of the cafe. I dragged myself towards her, wanting to make sure that she wasn't harmed.

As I was crawling through the panicked crowd, in front of the cafe, I found a dead body of a man near me. Surprisingly, instead of panicking or feeling disgusted, I was calm.

I had many doubts, but I wanted to save them for later, as I didn't know Luna's condition. But that wasn't the weird part.

As I crawled across the cafe, I felt my pain fading and my body gaining strength. When I got to Luna, I was already able to stand on my feet.

I looked at my wounds, which were healing at a visible rate. I could see my skin regaining their original color. It was the most weirdest and shocking thing that happened today.

I decided to think about it later,as Luna was unconscious before me. I bent down and slowly patted her cheeks repeatedly, intending to wake her up, but no use.

I felt that her breathe was also getting irregular. I looked around to find someone who would help me, but all i found was panicked people who were just running for their lives.

Then, I spotted two men in black suit, black coat, black hat and black sunglasses. They looked at the dead body I found while crawling, and smiled at it.

I couldn't see much due to the crowd, but I did make out a burn on the wrist of a person. They just left, giving me a glare while leaving.

The police and ambulance arrived on time and took Luna to the ambulance. A police officer walked up to me and asked "Kid, are you fine?"

I wanted to reply "I am fine", but lost consciousness in the middle of the sentence.

If anyone still doesn't know who MC's mother is, she is the mother of Kaito Kid(Kaito Kuroba). She was the Phantom lady before she met Kid's father. Currently, she is still the Phantom lady and hasn't met Kid's father.
