The extinct predator.

"Wait, where's my raccoon?" Jerry exclaimed, his voice rasing in panicked as he turned around in search of his god-damned racoon."He was just here a moment ago!"

"Is that really important right now?" Serinal snapped, gazing at Jerry. "We've got bigger problems than your f**king raccoon! Like the wolf that's trying to kill us!"

"But Rascal could help us!" Jerry protested, it obviously seems that, his obsession for this racoon was getting out of hand.

"The wolf is getting closer! What are we going to do guys?" Lily announced with a shaking voice.

Jonas took charge, he stepped a bit out of the hurdle into their middle and then he started giving instructions to them.

"On my mark, Zilia, Jerry, and Mike, you go left. Lily and Serinal, you come with me to the right. On the count of three… one, two, three!"

They split up, each pair sprinting in opposite directions, at least that would make the wolf uncertain of what to do.

Actually, the wolf hesitated for a moment, it really got unsure of which way to go. Then, with a snarl, it chose a direction and began to run towards it–it took on Jonas direction.

With a howl of triumph, the wolf gave chase, sprinting after Jonas and the girls as they ran through the dense underbrush that they couldn't passed out.

The branches and leaves whipped at their faces as they squize themselves towards it, but they didn't dare to slow down in their speed, they pressed on regardless of the bushy path way.

The wolf was really gaining on them, its massive paws kept pounding the ground, its fangs where glinting in the dappled light.

The girls running with Jonas tripped and stumbled on the floor, but Jonas kept running, urging them on. There was actually no time to fall down.

"Don't stop!" he yelled.

As the wolf closed in on them, Jerry and Mike circled around and positioned themselves to shoot at the wolf; as they have taken another root to circle to the position where the wolf was chasing Jonas and the girls from.

They each raised their snipers and took aim facing the direction at which Jonas and the rest where running from, it was as if they had already planned it or something, as it was quite like a deal.

"Fire!" Jonas yelled as he bow in the spot while closing his ears with his two hands to avoid the sounds of the gun; he actually thought they where holding a rifle.

Lily and serinal quickly did the same thing as Jonas did, even when they seemed not to had known why he had to bow low.

Suddenly, a deafening boom split the air as they fired their guns. Two bullets from the sniper struck the wolf in the side, sending it crashing to the ground.

All of them, immediately stood frozen in shock, staring at the still form of the wolf, they fixed their gaze at it, to scrutinize if it was actually dead this time or not.

After some few seconds of observations, Jonas finally broke the tense silence building up, he was certain that, the god-damned wolf had died.

"We did it guy's" he said, his voice shaking a bit as he chuckled at the wolf that was lying on the floor lifelessly, although it was somehow still breathing.

But despite the bullets in its side and wound all over it furs; to their very surprise, the wolf still struggled to its feet, it somehow pushed itself upward and suddenly, it was on it feet again.

Its eyes where blazing with fury, all their ecstatic expressions turn in to another series of horror at the sight of this predator standing up on it feet.

A bullet from that gun could had kill a normal large wolf, why won't this one die, even after it was shot for about three times now?

It took a few stumbling steps forward, blood where dripping from its wounds as it was moving forward towards them.

Its growl was quite low and menacing, sending a chill down their spines as they imagine the wolf would pounce on them again.

'what the hell is this? Common, or could this be some kind of vampire wolf? or something related, because, what the heck…!' Jerry pounder as he tried to arrange another bullet in the sniper shelt.

"It's not dead!" Zilia cried, terror in her voice, as she glance at the wolf that was looking like a zombie due to the stains of blood all over it body. "What the hell is this actually?"

The wolf took another step forward, its breath where coming in heavy gasps. It was clear that it was badly injured, but from it face, it was still determined to attack, as if it was program to do so.

All of them had to huddled together once again, their hearts where pounding on the wolf approch, preparing for the worst.

Jonas standing at the middle, raised his pistol, aiming it directly at the wolf forehead.

He was closer to the wolf from distance and he couldn't turned to where Jerry or mike was to collect a sniper for fear of what the wolf might do while he was on that.

'Something has to put this bullshit beast down, one more step, and I'll blow the living life at of you' Jonas thought as he aimed straight at the head of the wolf.

He was about to pull the trigger when the wolf suddenly collapsed, its body falling limp to the ground. It was really clear that the god-damned beast was too weak to continue its attack.

They suddenly stood frozen, staring at the still form of the wolf. For a moment, there was silence as everyone fear that it could be pretending or something.

But after what seemed like enternity, the wolf didn't stood up and it was looking very much as dead.

Then, a breath of relief seemed to ripple through their nerves, as they supposed the wolf had eventually died. Their nightmare was now over, as they thought.

"Are you sure it's dead this time?" Zilia asked, her voice was still trembling as she was still imagining that the wolf would definitely stand up again or something.

"I'm sure," Jonas said, nodding his head, his face turning pale as he glance at it. "It's definitely dead."

He took a cautious step forward to where the wolf was laying motionless, his gun was still trained on the wolf. For sure, no one knows if the damn beast was dead, so he had to be vigilant.

He crouched down next to the body, examining it closely, it wasn't breathing and it looks pretty much dead as good. There was no doubt about it - the wolf was certainly dead.

As they watched, a wave of relief washed over them, as they concluded that the wolf was dead. The danger was now over, and they were safe–at least for now.

They allowed themselves to relax, their tense muscles finally loosening, it had really been quite an adventure, now it felt like they where literally in one of those adventure movies where by, the main character get to kill some fierce some beast and so on.

"Mr, Jonas," Serinal said, her voice trembling as she seems to have remembered something. "Don't you think this wolf was the same one that killed the bear we saw the other time? remember, that huge bear"

Yeah, they had actually found the remains of a dead bear few hours ago. The body had been partially eaten, and there were signs of a struggle.

They had all been shocked and scared by the discovery though, but had pushed it to the back of their minds–probably, because it wasn't alive–and focusing on their mission instead.

But now, the memory of the dead bear came rushing back in their minds at serinal reminder, and they all felt a shiver of fear as they imagine the wolf to be the predator, perhaps zilia was right.

"Yeah, this wolf is huge," Mike said, his voice filled with awe. "I've never seen a wolf this big. And you're right, Jonas. Nothing in this forest should surprise us anymore. It's like a whole other world out here, shit!" He yelled.

"Perhaps, my hunch where correct" Zilia said, as her face got thrilled with a hint of pride.

She had been expecting someone to do the announcing of 'Zilia was right about the bear being attack by a wolf' which serinal had successfully done, but dummy mike was turning it off point.

She wasn't letting that achievement go flawlessly–oh yeah, to her, it was an achievement.

"About what" Jerry asked, his face clearly looked frail with confusion, maybe a pretentious one.

"About the wolf being the predator that killed the bear, serinal just said it now, no one remember that?" Zilia asked glaring at them, in surprised.

"Oh about that, well, I'm still not certain, there isn't any proves about that" Jerry lied, he actually doesn't want to admit the fact that Zilia was right.

"What!" Zilia exclaimed, as she turned to Jerry. "You're kidding right?"

"Well, it's okay, probably zil was right, maybe it was the wolf, can we now focus and think of a way and get out of this place?" Jonas said, clapping his hands.

They fell silent, picking their backpacks again, their eyes where wide as they thought about the possibilities of what next.

What else could be out there, lurking in the shadows? They all knew that they had only seen the tip of the iceberg when it came to the mysteries of the Ramazon.

"Anyway, we're safe now," Lily said with a sigh of relief, as she hang her backpack in her shoulder. "That damn wolf is dead, and we're out of danger, so let figure out a way and get the hell out of this place..."

But before her words were even out of her mouth, they all heard it - the howl of another wolf, somewhere in the distance. The hair on the back of their necks stood on end as the howl echoed through the trees. Oh good, perhaps lily was wrong, they aren't save yet..

"Oh no," Zilia breathed, her voice barely audible as she glance around. Her backpack dripped off her hands. "Let this not be what I'm thinking, common! What the hell!"
