Chapter 2

Dark red eyes staring at me, I know I have felt the presence somewhere in my childhood but cannot remember where. I wept the tears that were rolling down my face but I can't let the man in mist see my sadness upon the death of my father. The man comes forward and catches the soul of my father and seals it in a bottle. After that man introduces himself.

" I am Seth, the guardian spirit of Holy stay of spirits and ghosts. Your parents were the landlords of the place. This place is for the spirit to stay who ought to depart for the underworld. You, Anne have to give permission to the spirit to stay in your house for the next 49 days till they depart for the underworld. You, Anne have to protect the place from evil spirits who wants to enter the destroy the place for vengeance. So you must protect".

I could not believe that my house connects the two dimensions of the mortal world and underworld. Anne unconsciously promised, " I will protect the Holy stay of spirits and ghosts". Now I am the new landlady of the place, when I think of having responsibilities towards the house and started to make me feel depressed. But Kuro meows let my attention divert to him and pet him.

" I will take responsibility with you, Anne. I will protect you from harm. Don't be afraid. I know you can do it".

I felt like that huge stress got down my shoulder and never felt like that ever since my mother's death. So comforting and felt like sleeping for eternity.

The next morning, Kuro awakes me. I feel so refreshed after the sleep. I make breakfast for both of us. I have to start looking for a job to manage the household. I always wanted to coffee house. This place will serve as a place for both humans and spirits. So I set up the place for the coffee house and await the customer to come to have a drink.

As the day went on, our house became famous around the town. So I hired some high schoolers as I know how difficult to survive on their own. A boy and girl were hired, named Joy and Tina. Joy was funny and joyful and comforting in nature whereas Tina was serious and quiet.

Tina and Joy were last years of graduation and they will work till get a better job. One night, Tina asks me. "Boss! Is the place haunted because I might have seen a black shadow in the storeroom". Tina was shivering from the fright.

"No... The place is not haunted.. You have seen wrong".

Next night when I was closing the shop...

I saw it...
