Chapter 13

I get to my senses and felt that something is wrong. Everywhere filled with darkness. It terrifies me to death. I always have been afraid of the dark. This feels like my nightmare has come true. I desperately try to wake up from the nightmare but I can't. I feel despair. I want to see light once again. I don't want to die or fade away in the darkness.

I know deep in my heart that Joy will save me. I don't how but he will. I trust my heart that he had went to the boss for help. My boss is reliable. She will help. I want to live. I don't want to die. I still have to confess to Joy that I love him.

I can sense the black aura coming from the cave. The aura is darker than night but has ghostly light to lure more prey. The cave is large enough to house tens of people. The high ceiling is the nest of bats and scary in dark surroundings. The evil soul knows that I have entered the domain but he didn't attack outright to devour me. As I inspect the cave, I saw the first evil soul for the first time. The soul has taken a physical shape like a snake as described by Joy. But the snake has a red diamond that looked like a core from the underworld. Why do I feel that the underworld is involved in the chaos?

The involvement of the underworld makes me uneasy as that is not my domain. As I stare at the snake, my thought drifts back to the mysterious man who came to my coffee shop. He also had an eerie atmosphere around him which is similar to the core of the underworld. It was clearly stated in the guide to the history of portal owners and worlds that the underworld, upperworld, and the mortal world cannot interfere in otherworldly matters. This can be the declaration of war. In the book, the three worlds are in a peace treaty of not attacking each other.

I instruct Joy to lure the snake out of the hole. So I can rescue others who are trapped in the cave. I found Tina half awake and others fainted. I take them to the car as we have come in the car to rescue them. I signal Joy to drive away from the place and he hurries away with them.

" Boss, be careful. Be safe", shouted Joy and drove away.

I focus on the snake after Joy left with the car for the place where we are staying. I have written all the instructions in the medicine cabinet. I hope that he follows every step and doesn't mess up.

Now I can focus on the snake and try to subdue it. I don't want to destroy its core. As I observe the core, it shines like a diamond ring. It radiates a dark and gloomy aura. I think that the snake somehow got its hand in the ring and it gives him power. He lures people to gain energy but, he does not have sufficient power for something he wants to do. I must fulfill the wish and stop him from rampaging or harming others.

I try to engage the monster snake to talk to confuse him.

"Oii, where did you get the ring from?"
