In a new world filled with mana and people with special abilities, Arsha Logan is born with a mana deficiency problem that lowers his capability. Being one of the few people in the world who could use dual elemental abilities his condition was termed ‘unfortunate’ as he could not use his abilities to their full extent without completely running out of mana. He had an unusual aura that caused his mana to constantly leak especially during fights but this unusual aura came with its perks for him and that begged the question. Was his condition really that unfortunate or were the people around him overestimating the usefulness of mana especially to him? Rapid healing/regeneration Night vision/enhanced eyesight Enhanced hearing Abnormal movement speed Enhanced strength without mana infusion He had it all and anyone who had seen all of this could tell that he wasn't exactly normal and the question that always crossed their mind was; “What is he?"
Claudia could not believe it, she knew he would be able to name most of the beasts and their characteristics, but she didn't expect him to name all of them.
All the demon beasts known to mankind that were recorded in the beast encyclopedia, he named all of them and their characteristics. That was a lot of knowing for someone to cram and now it was obvious to her.
'He didn't cram any of it, he actually knows all of these beasts, but that still doesn't make it any less impressive.' She said subconsciously with her gaze on him.
"Wow, that's really impressive, Logan, to be honest, I didn't expect you to know all of them let alone their characteristics, you just blew my mind away." The vice principal remarked with a genuinely amused look on her face.
"Well, I'm glad I was able to blow your mind away," Arsha responded before slowly turning his gaze to Claudia.
She had to quickly turn away from him at that moment so that he wouldn't catch her staring.
"What about you, Claudia?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?" She retorted.
"Well, it's just that with the way you were looking at me, I thought I might have blown your mind away too." He implied with a sly tone to his voice.
"Huh? I was not…."
She quickly turned to him at that moment but then what she wanted to say suddenly vanished into thin air.
"Keep quiet, I wasn't looking at you." She muttered before slowly turning away from him.
"Well, don't you two look like good friends." Miss Claire commented with a smile on her face.
"We're not friends." Claudia retorted. "Who would want to be friends with him?"
"Oh, I see, so it's that way." She uttered before clearing her throat. "Anyway, it's time for your question, Miss. Hart."
"I'm all ears."
"Alright, it's a simple question so I'm sure you can take care of it. In simple words explain the schedule and daily activities of the students from Monday to Sunday."
"Hmm, in simple words." She muttered with her hand on her chin. "Well, Monday to Thursday is pretty much the same, we get up by 6:00 AM to get ready for the day and that includes a compulsory thirty-minute morning workout session before we return to our rooms to wash up. Our breakfast is delivered to us in our rooms by 7:00 AM and after that, the students are required to be in their class before 7:50 AM.
"Classes start at 8:00 AM and last till 11:00 AM when we get an hour break, during that time, you can either have your lunch and find something useful to do or you can go watch a bunch of idiots fight at the arena." Her gaze slowly shifted to Arsha as he added that part.
"By noon, class resumes and lasts for just an hour, after that, we return to our dormitories to rest up and wait for combat classes which start by 3:00 PM and lasts for an hour and thirty minutes. After combat classes, the students are free to do whatever they want until curfew which starts at 10:00 PM.
"That's it for Monday to Thursday for…."
"Okay, that's enough." The vice principal cut in before she could continue.
"Huh?"
"Well, it's obvious that you have a good grasp on your daily activities which is expected since you've done it constantly for a year now but I really love the way you explained it, good job."
"Okay, so are you going to tell us what this is all about?" Claudia inquired.
"Well, it's simple, there's going to be an orientation for the first years tomorrow in the school hall and I want you two to be in charge of it." She disclosed.
"You want us to be in charge of something like that?"
She was quite shocked.
"Oh come on, it's not a big deal."
"Maybe but why not leave it to the teachers? We didn't have our seniors standing in front of us during our orientation."
Getting that response, Miss. Claire let out a sigh before slowly shifting her gaze to Arsha who had just been sitting on the couch with the farce of not paying attention to their conversation.
"I'm sure you two must have heard about what happened at the arena in the city recently." She uttered.
"Yes, I heard about it," Claudia responded.
Arsha on the other hand didn't say anything.
"Well, the teachers supposed to take care of it won't be showing up tomorrow because of that so I want you two, the top two second-year students in terms of academics to take care of it, you two seem quite outspoken so I'm sure you can take care of it. I'm sending the details to your devices now." She expressed before picking up the tablet on her desk.
"Oh, I see we don't really have any say in the matter," Claudia commented.
"Not really but it's not like I'm asking you to go kill a Lord-tier beast or something." She chuckled.
"Yeah," Claudia muttered as her gaze slowly shifted to Arsha. "I would have preferred a different partner though."
"What was that?" The vice principal inquired.
"Nothing, I was just….."
She wasn't able to finish that as something suddenly hit the building at that moment, the impact almost pushed her off her seat but she was able to get a hold of herself.
"What the heck was that?"
Miss. Claire quickly got up from her seat at that moment and proceeded to open her window.
It didn't take her long to spot the problem and it was one that she couldn't help but sigh about.
"Looks like we have company, and it's not a good one."
Claudia had to get closer to see what she was talking about but Arsha could clearly see everything from where he was sitting.
Someone was floating in the middle of the school grounds and this was no ordinary person.
Her skin was completely red and even though she had long flowing dark hair, two red horns were protruding from it and to keep herself afloat, there were two black wings protruding from her back.
She was dressed in a small black top that wasn't big enough to cover her stomach, it also wasn't big enough to cover her boobs as her cleavage seemed to be exposed a bit too much, her shorts barely got up to the middle of her laps but to make up for that, she had stockings to cover the lower part of her legs.
Despite having a pretty face amidst her red skin, this Demon was quite terrifying, the darkness oozing from her was slowly spreading throughout the academy and her loud breathing suggested that she was quite infuriated.
"What is that?" Claudia inquired with a stunned look on her face.
She wasn't just stunned, her whole body was trembling because she could feel the overbearing aura coming from her from where she was standing.
The same could be said about most of the students watching from their windows.
"That would be a Demon Lord, the strongest form of a Demon," Claire replied with a calm voice.
"I'm going to ask this again, where is the wind and lightning girl!?" The Demon's voice thundered sending fear into the hearts of most of the students. "Tell her to show herself or I'm going to burn this place down and leave nothing behind." She threatened.
"Wind and lightning girl, is she talking about…?"
"Yes, you have the right person in mind." The vice principal responded before she could finish.
"But why is she looking for her?"
"No idea, I'm just as clueless as you on that matter."
Getting that response, Claudia let out a sigh before slowly turning her gaze to Arsha but as it turned out, he was no longer there.
'Huh? Where did he go?'
"Oh, I see you've chosen to remain hidden Ariel Logan, in that case, you'll have no one but yourself to blame for what I am about to do."
She quickly lifted both of her hands at that moment as two large fireballs appeared on them, but instead of throwing those fireballs at the buildings, he joined them together to create a larger one, but things didn't end there.
With both of her hands on the fireball, it kept growing until it was the size of a bus squashed into a ball and she was holding it up with one hand now.
The sky suddenly turned to flames for the students of Aigis Academy because it was all they could see now.
"Say good night, people of Aigis Academy." The Demon uttered before it quickly sent the fireball flying toward the dormitories."
