Felix returned to the Marquis Elizabeth's mansion after six o'clock in the evening during the magical hours. He had stayed in the Saint Erde Cathedral for the past three days, immersing himself in the study of "The Holy Cross - Instruction" and the "Blasphemy" left to him by Lady Ireland.
He came back this time to fetch some things, as he had decided to extend the closure of the Saint Erde Cathedral. He didn't want to be disturbed by external things until he had achieved certain results in his research.
Felix encountered Lady Elizabeth in the garden. Although her beauty was still intact, she seemed much thinner now, less dazzling but more gentle, like a white orchid quietly blooming in a secluded valley.
Lady Elizabeth looked at Felix with a gaze filled with pity, yet tinged with a hint of indifference. In her eyes, there was anger, like that of someone whose beloved toy had been stolen.
Felix's absence throughout the night and the closure of Saint Erde Cathedral—all of it proved that she had lost to that vampire who had a bigger chest and a perkier butt than her.
Lady Elizabeth was a proud woman. Knowing she had failed, she wouldn't behave like a shrew making a scene. Instead, she would secretly hide in a corner, licking her wounds alone like a wounded little kitten.
Felix seemed oblivious to the indifference on her face. He slowly approached Lady Elizabeth and opened his arms to embrace the beautiful woman dressed in a white silk nightgown.
A hint of surprise appeared on Lady Elizabeth's face, but for some reason, she did not struggle out of Felix's embrace. She just stood there quietly, waiting for Felix to give her an answer.
The smooth and soft touch, the elegant and warm scent - Felix released his embrace and took Lady Elizabeth's delicate hand, walking towards his room. He couldn't deny his fondness for Lady Elizabeth, though it wasn't as strong as what he felt for Lady Ireland.
Seeing Lady Elizabeth again, now dressed in a white velvet nightgown and appearing much thinner, Felix felt a surge of pity, and even a sense of longing for Lady Ireland.
"You need to give me an answer," Felix said, his expression neither warm nor cold, which finally irritated Lady Elizabeth. She bit her tender lips, her beautiful ocean-blue eyes staring intently at Felix.
Felix held Mrs. Elizabeth's smooth hand as they walked into his room. On tiptoes, he reached up to press on Mrs. Elizabeth's shoulder, a good deal taller than him, guiding her to sit on his bed.
Fumbling in his clothes for a moment, Felix pulled out a necklace crafted from red agate. The material wasn't expensive, and the quality couldn't even be considered medium-grade, but the craftsmanship was exceptionally exquisite. The agate stones were polished to a perfectly round and plump finish, and on the largest agate stone, a lifelike phoenix was carved with extraordinary skill.
This was Felix's handiwork. He had originally intended to engrave a mid-level magic spell, "Holy Light - Major Healing," but sadly, he failed. Holy Light required faith as a guide, a major flaw during the engraving of magic runes. Holy Light energy isn't like elemental energy that just needs a supply of magic power and a pathway through the magic network to be successfully unleashed.
Holy Light energy needs faith to converge, and without faith as a foundation, the power of the Holy Light spell is significantly reduced. After perfectly engraving the magic runes, Felix was dismayed to find that without faith to rely on, a mid-level magic spell "Holy Light - Major Healing" could only perform as effectively as a "Minor Healing" spell. Turning the failed product into a necklace and adding some beautiful patterns on it was a hobby of his as a Gamma Master.
Watching Felix hold the necklace, a burst of color flashed in Mrs. Elizabeth's eyes, but she quickly concealed it. Simple materials and masterful craftsmanship—there was no doubt that Felix had carved this personally for her!
The simple velvet nightgown revealed half of her snow-white chest, and the exquisite red agate necklace hung into her deep cleavage, reflecting a dazzling red light in the darkness.
After personally putting the necklace on Mrs. Elizabeth, a smile finally appeared on Felix's face. He looked up straight into Mrs. Elizabeth's eyes, his voice calm as he said, "Mrs. Ireland has left."
"She's left?" Felix's answer slightly surprised Mrs. Elizabeth. Her beautiful eyebrows lightly furrowed as she stared into Felix's dark brown eyes and asked, "Where did she go?"
"To hell…" Felix glanced at the beautiful female knight standing outside the door, then he bowed down, resting his head on Mrs. Elizabeth's plump and round thigh. His pale, tired little face rubbed gently against her snow-white silk nightgown.
He liked this intimate gesture, enjoyed the warmth and fragrance of Mrs. Elizabeth, and loved it when she gently stroked his forehead, sharing interesting stories from the countryside or from parties. In those moments, he always felt very comfortable, very peaceful.
A touch of sorrow appeared in Mrs. Elizabeth's eyes, as if she understood something. She gently stroked Felix's brown, beautiful long hair, murmuring softly, "So she finally decided to go?"
She and Mrs. Ireland were rivals, but never enemies.
The friendships between women can sometimes be even more unpredictable than love.
...
Felix slowly stood up, gathered some useful items around the room, and neatly placed them in a suitcase. Mrs. Elizabeth sat quietly, her sea-blue eyes intently watching Felix. Her gaze held a hint of hesitation, her pearly teeth gently biting her soft lips. After a moment, she finally asked softly, "Are you leaving?"
"I'm planning to seclude myself for a while in the Saint Erde Cathedral. I will spend the next half month there," Felix turned around, his eyes showing a determination Mrs. Elizabeth had never seen before. For the first time, this seemingly quiet and gentle little kitty in her presence had made a decision for himself.
"Will you come back?" Unexpectedly, Mrs. Elizabeth voiced a question she absolutely shouldn't have asked.
Felix was slightly taken aback. In his memory, Mrs. Elizabeth was so proud, as dignified as a noble queen, even her affection for him was bestowed from a queen's lofty position.
He turned back to gaze at this beautiful woman, who had become much slimmer, resembling a delicate and quiet white orchid. His lips couldn't help but curve into a faint smile as he said softly, "Mrs. This place is beautiful, and very peaceful, isn't it? I hope there will always be a room here that is mine…"
Mrs. Elizabeth revealed a slight smile, stunningly beautiful in that moment. She opened her arms and embraced Felix, whose height reached only to her shoulders, into her arms, smiling like a loving mother, "My little kitty…"
"Has grown up…"
