Chapter 3: Escape Death

Hey Chuks, how are you doing today?

Chuks: yo! Brother, very well and you?

Fine, to why I called man, I'm already on my way down to your state and straight to Cassie's house.

Chuks: oh okay great, actually not around now, but will see you when you get there man.

Alright, just at the thought of it, how far with what we talked about, I mean the surprise stuff, how is it coming along? I asked?

Chuks: ermm, my guy, it's all going well oo. I even had to add some cash to what you gave me out of my own pocket, I didn't want to ask you for any more money but still want to make her happy for you, you grab?

A'ight man, thanks a lot and I will refund you all dime, no worries okay.

Chuks: very my bruh and safe journey.

Before I could end the call, I heard the stretch sound of Bus brake, it was loud that Chuks on the other end ask what was happening but I could not answer, as if I was the one driving the bus I had to concentrate on how the driver will maneuver the bus to a safe stop, which he finally did but the driver of the car that caused all this casualty, could not control his car, till it headbutts a network poll at the other end of the road, it was a real scape through for the car that no car was coming on the other side of the road, else the accident would have been more fatal than it was.

This was what happened. During my phone call with Chuks, we were in a terrible traffic, but immediately the traffic cleared, this particular car came through from the right side of the road which definitely leads to another small route, I guess it lost it break and the driver was unable to stop the car, and he was lucky enough for the traffic to have just been cleared, if it was clear a minute before the car came along, it would have collided with our Bus and maybe I would have been dead or almost dead, but lucky me, the car scrap through the bonnet of our bus and head straight to the network poll at the other side of the road. Damn

I picked up my phone that has already slip to the floor from my hand when the accident happened and surprisingly Chuks was still in the phone, waiting to know what happened, I guess to check if am safe or not.

Well I am.

Chuks are you there? I said to the phone back to my ear and he replied.

Chuks: Pappy are you okay, WTF just happened?

I am fine, at least not dead, the bus I'm in just had or almost had an accident, but we are okay now.

Chuks: okay, thank God, I pray you land here safely man, starting to get worried.

I will be fine and please don't mention any of this to Cassie, I don't want her to be scared or worried, I will make it a gist for her when I get there safely, if I actually do get there safely I say in a low tune but clear enough for Chuks to hear me.

Chuks: aight man. Be safe.

Call ended

Well I'm starting to regret coming down to meet Cassie, as anything could happen to me since I just got to Nigeria months ago, haven't even traveled much but I know I should be safe if I travel alone, well if am not been kidnapped or dead in accident like this.

As for the core problem to this accident, I mean the car, the man inside was rescued and we move on with the journey in one piece but shattered mind and weak heart with the fear of not getting into another accident.
