5 Mercenary

I enjoy my time within the bar thanks to Mama Welles hospitality She brought up homemade food and some healthy drinks. Me, Jackie and V became friends without me noticing, Lola took a liking to V giving her the permission to pet her except for Jackie. 

"Sorry Jackie looks like Lola is still holding a grudge because you call her a boy" 

"it's okay choom give me time and she will warm up to me" 

All good things come to an end a erdely men came to our table. 

"hello there son do you mind if I take this young man with me?" 

"Padre it's a surprise seeing you here what business do you have with my friend" 

yes, the person in front of me is called Sebastian Ibarra also known as Padre a very influential man in the Valentinos. Mama Welles doesn't look happy seeing him. 

Padre took notice of this looks at Mama Welles and says 

"Don't be alarmed you have my word that nothing will happen to him" 

I stood up thanking for the meal I gave them my contact Number and follow Padre outside waiting for us It his bodyguard opening the door of his classic car we enter and drove away. 

"Sorry for disturbing you while you were eating with the Welles Family" 

"No problem I'm guessing you want to talk about what happened yesterday" 

"Indeed, a heard that you killed 2 Valentinos may I know the reason why?" 

"You already know why but out of respect I will tell you what happen" 

I told him what happened yesterday how the Valentine wanted to take away Lola and how the situation escalated when I didn't corporate with their demands. 

"I see I'm sorry that happened to you, I'm surprised that you took them down without any cyberware" 

"I'm guessing the person that I spared told you this" 

"Yes, I was skeptical at first but seeing you in person confirms it. May I know why you spared her?" 

"she didn't want to kill me"

"I heard that you let her finish her prayers and left, tell me a child do you believe in God" 

"You could say that, it is more like I respect the teachings of God" 

I don't know how I got transmigrated to this world and I may never know but this is my reality now. 

Padre Smiles and nods 

"May I know why you don't have any cyberware you don't look like somebody low on money?" 

"Two reasons one I don't want to amputate myself and two I don't want any net runners hacking my brain I don't want to end up like a vegetable or have my head blown off" 

In the early stages of the game hacking was overpowered you can easily clear the room without being there. 

"Yes, a lot of people died by net runners Sorry I didn't ask for your name" 

"Name 8 and you must be Padre looking at the cross on your chest" 

"Yes, I called you not because of what happened yesterday because-" 

I wasn't listening what he's saying because I saw something out of the cars windows 2 man assaulting a woman and child without hesitation I ripped the car door open. 

You're stupid b**h this is what happens when you don't pay up. 

"Leave mommy alone" 

One of the men slaps the kid face. 

"shut up kid or you want another-" 

The man couldn't finish his sentence because I used the car door as a battering ram and sent the guy flying straight to the wall. 

"What the F! -" 

The same thing happened with the other man assaulting the woman he was sent flying by Lola. Looking at the women and child I can see some bruises I put my hands in my pocket and using the system to take out some healing items. 

"Here take this" 

the woman took the healing items 

"thank you" 

I nod my head Looking at the two men On the ground I went straight to the guy who slaps the kid and Lola went for that guy who assaulted the woman. 

"Get the F**k away from me" 

I didn't hear what the man said I pick him up by the neck start to slap him in the face nonstop while Lola broke the man's arm using her powerful teeth. 

"This is what happens when you assault a woman and her child in broad daylight" 

I didn't care that many people are watching us and I didn't care that the two men we're saying sorry and asking for forgiveness. 

"You shouldn't be scared of me instead you should be scared of her" 

Me and Lola took the two in front of the woman. 

"She will decide whether you live or die." 

The woman was taken aback seeing the two men asking her to forgive them, she hesitated for a moment But it didn't last long her face changed to surprise to anger I'm guessing those two idiots made her suffer for a long time and now they're asking for her forgiveness. 

"Kill them" 

"no please no forgive us" 

"we'll never do it again" 

I nod and looked at the two men 

"Too bad you thought there was no consequences for your actions" 

I told the woman to cover child's eye and took the man by the hair and slammed him on the wall multiple times and Lola took the man by the balls and starts shaking violently the poor Baster became a rag doll blood going everywhere after killing the two idiots I gave the woman some money to last at least for a few months. 

"thank you thank you so much" 

"no problem ma'am take care of your child" 

I went and took the car door and headed straight to El Padre. 

"sorry about the door I'm willing to pay for the damage." 

"Don't worry about it can we continue with our conversation?" 

"Yes, umm where should I put the door" 

Some time passed and El Padre drop me off in front of the Glen apartment. 

"May God be with you" 

"Thank you" 

After El Padre left I look at my phone smiling seeing the list of contact. Mama Welles, Jackie, V and El Padre. 

"Welcome back Mr. 8" 

I nod and gave the reception a tip and went straight to my room. 

El Padre wants to hire me as a mercenary I accepted but with some conditions, 1st I will not harm innocent people, 2nd depending on the request I can accept it or decline it, and 3rd to tell all Valentinos not to attack me or else I am going to kill them he accepted the condition. 

"from tomorrow onwards were mercenaries." 

"Woof" 

Night City is full of crimes, corruption and death I don't want to be like anybody else I want to be different a legend that everybody will admires and strict fears to my enemies no matter who they're are corrupt cops or corporates those who don't value human life and thinks that there's no consequences I'll make them pay.
