"Anything, take your pick?" 

"Um, sure." She had not noticed, but the waiter who showed her to the table had returned to clear Paul's plate. "I will have the lamb, please."

Paul looked to the waiter, who quickened his pace after that. "Yes, Sir."

And scurried away.

As the waiter left Emma felt the vibration in her bag from her phone. She looked at the screen and then at the man in front of him who seeing her glance understood who the call was from and shook his head.

Frustrated and somewhat angry at Tanya, she accepted his communication and dropped the phone back inside again while putting it in silent. 

"So, Emma. As you are on a date, I expect you are hoping for a conversation. I am sure there are quite a several polite topics we could start with." Paul offered.
