Condemned Hymn: Avatar of Sin

In the small city of Haverfall, lived Caspian, a renowned detective. He was just an ordinary person until one day, a mysterious incident happened. "Can you please move out of the way?" said Caspian as the crowd moved to let him pass through. He parked his car and entered the house of the incident. As he entered the room of the crime scene, he could only gasp at the sight, "What the f—" It was a bloody mess. Guts were all over the place, even the ceiling. As he looked at the body, he saw that the torso of the victim was utterly obliterated. There were no clues... not a single one. But Caspian is a stubborn man, so he tries to find everything and comes across a mysterious group. He warned them not to move, or he'll shoot, but without a care, they didn't listen. Caspian shot, but to his surprise, one of them even laughed. He didn't know what had happened, but he was knocked out. Just after that day, his mother, an agent from an unknown organization, told him to stop investigating and that they'll handle it. He was angry, but he knew he couldn't do anything about it, but he planned on investigating regardless of the consequences. A few more murders happened, and Caspian eventually got caught investigating something without proper permission and was suspended. That's where it all happened, an encounter with the unknown, something that didn't die no matter how much he tried to kill it—the encounter with the supernatural. Mysteries begin to unsolve as the dark secrets of the world hold true. The fate of the world bides within him... the oath sworn by the apocalypse. This is the path of the Condemned. (It's pretty light-hearted, so you don't have to worry. No NTR, No cuckoldry, No UB, No bad tags. Just good old harem with a plot instead of pure harem. Small warning though, the MC won't be immediately strong since that would make no sense storywise. He will still need to train to be able to reach the strength everyone else has. [I could just make him gain a power-up but that would be too easy, LMAO]. Also, English is my third language, so I'm sorry if I have a lot of typos/grammatical errors.) Chapter 38: Mitchell Graham

"GO DIE, YOU FUCKER!" The man screamed as he frantically tried to shoot Caspian.

Fortunately, Caspian managed dodge right before the man pulled the trigger. Abby and the others immediately moved to intercept the man, grabbing his gun, throwing it away, twisting his arm behind his back, and pinning him down.

Caspian didn't waste any time as he grabbed the gun while saying, "I'll have to take this, sir. We might have to arrest you for attempted murder after that, but we still have to brief you about something. Bring him inside."

Abby and the others nodded as Abby cuffed the man and brought him inside. As they reached the living room, they all sat down and looked at the man seriously.

"Sir, are you MItchell Graham?" Caspian asked politely.

The man simply got mad as he spat at Caspian. Caspian didn't expect this, and the spit landed on his coat, causing his expression to twist as he wiped it with a handkerchief. "That was unnecessary, sir."

"Fuck you all, bastards and bitches. I won't give you any answers!" the man retorted.

Caspian couldn't help but smile bitterly with an exasperated expression. He then glanced at the others, requesting assistance, and Natalie smiled as she said, "Let me have a try, detective."

"It's no use, young lady. I still ain't gonna answer no matter how attractive you are!" The man shouted, but Natalie simply smiled.

She then sat beside Caspian as her eyes glowed lightly red. The man trembled as he saw this, "Y-YOU'RE ONE OF THO—"

Before he could continue his statement, his eyes became blank as Natalie, who was a Fifth Layer True Vampire, hypnotized him. She then asked while her eyes still glowed, "Mister Mitchell Graham, I assume?"

"Yes… I am," Mitchell said as he sat down blankly.

Natalie nodded as she said, "There, he's fully hypnotized. You can ask him whatever you want or tell him to do anything that you want as long as it's reasonable, and he'll compromise. He also won't remember anything, so you don't have to worry.

Caspian nodded as he glanced at Mitchell. He then asked, "Mister Graham, do you know anything about supernaturals?"

"I… don't know what that means…."

"Hmm, I think you have to ask him in more… simple terms," Abby said as she stood behind Caspian.

Caspian obliged as he rephrased his question, "Have you seen or felt anything, whether outside or with yourself, that seems out of the ordinary? Like superpowers and shit like that."

"Yes… there were these shadows that looked like humans… they had glowing red eyes and deformed bodies… and always came by every night inside my home. Though they don't do anything, they're creepy and scary."

"One time, some of them tried to attack me… luckily I managed to kill it with my shotgun. As for me… I got stronger than before, and I don't have any physical pain… I heal really quick too, but I grew a lot of hair all over my body. It's like I got superpowers."

After hearing that, Caspian turned his head toward the others and asked, "Do we tell him the truth? It seems he's already awakened a little bit of his supernatural abilities. He also managed to kill a minion."

"Mhm, I think we should," Natalie added. The others also nodded their heads in agreement.

Noticing that everyone already gave their approval, Natalie's eyes glowed once more as she ended her hypnotism, causing Mitchell to take a deep breath. "Hargh! What the fuck happened!?"

He then glanced at Natalie, "YOU! YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE MONSTERS!"

"Calm down, Mister Graham. We aren't here to hurt you," Caspian said, trying to ease the situation.

Mitchell seemed angrier as he tried to break free from the handcuffs. "YOU'RE ONE OF THEM TOO!? I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU ALL!! AGHH!!!"

He screamed and struggled, causing Caspian to sigh with exasperation. "Sir, we are here to help you against those creatures. To tell you the truth. So please, just calm down and relax. If possible, take a deep breath."

"FUCK YOU!"

"*Sigh* What a stubborn person; reminds me of someone," Caspian said as he glanced at Lucia lightly, causing her to snicker. "Stand down, sir, or we'll have to knock you out."

However, Mitchell didn't seem to listen as his eyes turned bloodshot. He growled angrily as his body grew larger, enabling him to break free of his shackles. Lucia couldn't help but grin as she threw her cigarette down and stomped on it. "That's why he felt familiar. Turns out he's a wolfkin. Hey, let me deal with this little shit."

Caspian just nodded and allowed Lucia to do what she wanted since she probably won't listen to him either way. The others also didn't stop her as they knew she was fully capable of dealing with him efficiently.

Lucia nonchalantly approached Mitchell as he angrily swung his arms. Since he didn't have any military or martial background, Mitchell didn't have proper techniques to incorporate into his movements and attacked recklessly.

Ignoring the attacks, Lucia still approached with no worry on her face. As Mitchell's claws neared Lucia, she simply deflected them by flicking her arm, causing him to stagger back.

With a growl, Mitchell abandoned his plan of thoughtlessly attacking and decided to use his large, sharp teeth to his advantage. He then propelled himself with his hind legs and opened his mouth wide open.

This scene would terrify most people as his gape was larger than Lucia's head, but Lucia simply snorted as she hit Mitchell with a backhanded slap, throwing him to the side of the house.

As a wolfkin, his body could heal relatively quickly, similar to a werewolf, so he tried to attack once more. Lucia was slightly annoyed when she stated, "What a tenacious bastard. Sit down."

After that statement, she swung her arms downwards, hitting Mitchell's head and knocking him to the ground. Lucia then stomped on his head with enough force to dent the floor and lodge Mitchell's head within it.

"Tch, I thought it would be slightly interesting since I haven't fought against werewolves and wolfkins in a while. It turns out you can only amount to so much. What an uninteresting battle," Lucia said while stepping back as Mitchell returned to his human form.

Mitchell's face was slightly deformed and bruised, but after a minute or so, all those reverted to their original state.

Natalie, on the side, smiled wryly at the scene. She then said, "Ruthless as always, huh, Lucia."

"Mmm," Lucia hummed as she pulled another stick of cigarette out of her pocket and lit it. Caspian then approached the unconscious Mitchell and laid him on the sofa. "Let's wait for him to wake up."

After a while, Mitchell soon opened his eyes, confusion creeping on his face. "What the hell happened…? What did I turn into…?"

"Mister Graham, are you willing to talk now?" Caspian said with a stoic smile.

Mitchell couldn't help but turn his head slightly as he clicked his tongue. "Alright… explain everything to me… please."

"Good," Caspian smiled sincerely after hearing that as he helped the old man sit properly. He then sat down in front of him and clasped his hands. As he glanced at Mitchell, he couldn't help but think with a wry smile, 'His attitude had a complete 180, haha.'

"I'm sure you have a lot of questions, Mister Graham. Please, go ahead and ask away."

Mitchell glanced at Caspian solemnly as he gave it a deep thought. He then said with a shaky voice, "What the hell happened earlier…? What… what happened to me? Did I become a monster…?"

"It would be rude to call you a monster since that would mean every one of us would be monsters as well. You just… fully awakened your supernatural abilities as a half-blood."

"H-Half-blood…? Supernatural…? What the fuck is that?"

"Sir, remember those myths and fantasies? Vampires, werewolves, beasts. They're all real. In fact, me, my companions, and even you, yourself, are evidence about that matter. You are a wolfkin, otherwise known as a half-blood werewolf."

"I-I see…. What happened earlier when the miss's eyes glowed red….?"

"Ah, that…. She simply hypnotized you, so we can confirm that you are Mitchell Graham and extract some information that you know. We also know about those shadowy creatures that stalk you and one that you killed."

"You know about those…? What are they?"

"They are most likely… vampire minions since you did mention them having deformed bodies. They were probably finding the right time, where you've already awakened your supernatural abilities before they attack to perform their experiments on you."

"E-experiments?"

"Yes. There's a series of murders in the Wakefield district involving the same person… all of the victims were also half-bloods such as yourself."

"Mister Mitchell Graham, the reason why we came here was to offer you protection against that killer. The killer's targets are unawakened half-bloods and or semi-awakened, but since they don't know you've fully awakened. Will you allow—"

Before he could finish his sentence, Mitchell replied, "Absolutely! Those sons of bitches are terrifying. One time they attacked, and it only died after I repeatedly shot its head with a motherfucking shotgun!"

'Oh fuck, his attitude earlier came back,' Caspian thought with a bitter smile. He then said, "Good, but our offer is something quite different than you think."

"Hit me with it."

"We want you to act as bait to lure the bastard out."
