This Is My Entrance Fee
Lilian Mo straightened herself. Wiping her face with a wet towel, she summoned her courage. She produced a bottle of chocolate milk in her hand and a clean straw wrapped with a tissue.
With a hardened gaze, she walked towards the direction of Lu Jingren. It was just her luck that the guy had finished eating and was calmly wiping his mouth with a handkerchief. His elegant moves and pleasant looks were really a sight for sore eyes.
"Little Sister Mo, you came back." Mu Qianmo said as he smiled warmly at the girl.
Lilian Mo nodded at him before her gaze landed on Lu Jingren. Inhaling deeply, she stepped forward and stood in front of him. She placed the bottle of chocolate milk and the clean straw wrapped with tissue on the table.
"I want to join your group. This is my entrance fee." She said in a calm voice, neither proud nor humble.
Fu Yangzhu gaped. "Sister-in-law is so bold! She actually went to the Boss and asked if she could join." He stifled a laugh. "I don't know about you guys but chocolate milk is the Boss' favorite drink. Sister-in-law's choice is very fitting."
Mu Qianmo also thinks that Lilian Mo was very smart to offer chocolate milk. It's been weeks since the Boss last tasted chocolate milk so this was a very smart move on Lilian Mo's part. The Boss is so obsessed with this drink that he might even kill for it.
"That Lilian Mo is so courageous." Mizuki Rei shook his head but he was curious what the Boss would say.
Lilian Mo patiently waited. Lu Jingren always took his time to answer so when he tilted his head to look at her, she met his gaze without any fear in her bones. This was their first time facing each other in this life and also their first time officially speaking to each other.
Heh. She comforted herself by saying that this person and she did not have any intimate relations in this life.
It was her choice to distance herself from him. It would be natural if he refused her request but at the very least, she tried. Worse come for worse, she would just head out alone or watch over Mu Qingqing in the shadows.
Lu Jingren blinked slowly at her. His golden lashes were thick and long, framing his perfectly sharp eyes that exuded an alluring charm. If it were her back then, she would have blushed over at this sight.
Let it not be said that Lu Jingren may be an illegitimate child but he also inherited the best genes of both parents, especially his European mother.
His lips parted and he spoke in a low voice that had a certain kind of hypnotic charm.
"Just one?"
Lilian Mo was taken aback by his question and she stared at him with a guarded look on her face.
"I have a few more but you can't take too much. This is my favorite drink. I won't let you have it all. You can only have one bottle a day. That's it." Like a dragon hoarding its treasure, Lilian Mo had shown the same attitude towards her stocks of chocolate milk.
"Good."
Lu Jingren hummed as he picked up the bottle of chocolate milk using his white and slender hand that looked, even more, prettier than a girl's. He did not use the straw and directly drank from the bottle.
Mu Qianmo and the rest were flabbergasted. Oh darn! The Boss said 'good'! This was a positive response! Which meant that the girls could join them. This was already the third time that the Boss has said 'good' on the same day!
The three of them rejoiced after realizing this.
"Great! Little Sister Mo, I'm glad to welcome you on the team!" Mu Qianmo flashed a welcoming smile at the girl.
Fu Yangzhu grinned. "Sister-in-law, you're amazing. You managed to convince the Boss."
Mizuki Rei sighed in relief. This was good. They wouldn't have to separate.
Lilian Mo clarified her stance. "This is a trade and I paid an entrance fee. Besides, I am aware that I'm strong and can help. It isn't like you guys can find a willing cook for you. Gluttons. Go wash the dishes now!"
The three straightened after being yelled at by the chef. Mizuki Rei immediately took the initiative. Otherwise, that scary girl, Lilian Mo wouldn't let him hear the end of it!
