Chapter 3: Awakening the System

For thirteen years, Cole Young lived in the orphanage, haunted by the fragmented memories of his birth and fueled by a burning desire for vengeance. He dreamt of honing his skills, of mastering the power he sensed within him, the power to avenge his mother.

"System," he began, his voice a mix of excitement and apprehension, "what are your functions?"

The System responded promptly, outlining its functionalities: a Shop for purchasing items and skills, a Leveling system to track his progress, Character Cards for analyzing opponents, Inventory for storing acquired items, and detailed Skill and Ability listings.

However, the System cautioned Cole that his initial access would be limited. His young body could only handle so much power. Only Status Screen, showcasing his basic stats, remained readily available.

"But fear not," the System reassured. "As you grow stronger, more functions will be unlocked, granting you access to greater power and knowledge."

Cole felt a surge of excitement. This was it, the beginning of his journey. He requested the System's recommendation for his initial training.

The System responded by offering a Starter Pack, containing basic ninja equipment and a set of foundational ninja skills. Cole readily accepted, eager to begin.

But then, the System surprised him. "Due to your unique ability, Instant Mastery," it explained, "all skills in the Starter Pack are automatically maxed out."

Cole felt a grin stretch across his face. This was even better than he could have hoped for. With these skills at his disposal, he could start training in earnest.

The System also introduced a Daily Quest system, offering basic exercises designed to improve his physical and mental capabilities. This, the System explained, would help him lay a solid foundation for future growth.

Cole embraced this challenge with enthusiasm. He knew that mastering the fundamentals was crucial for his ultimate goal. He trained tirelessly, day in and day out, pushing himself to his limits.
