Chapter fourteen

Chapter fourteen.

"Welcome," Hazel said welcoming Chen and Abigail into Daisy's new apartment.

Amanda came running towards them in front of her room.

"You are late," she challenges poking her eyes out.

"We are sorry," Abigail apologized.

"Apology accepted," Amanda replied.

"Please do have a seat. Daisy is in her room. She will join us shortly," Hazel said.

"What is she doing here?" Abigail asked in a whisper as she sat down next to Chen. Referring to Hazel.

"She is the one who has been taking care of Daisy. She was the one who took Daisy to the hospital for her check-up," Chen replied whispering.

"Chen," Amanda called and continued," come," she said as she pulled him towards the kitchen.

Chen followed her reluctantly. Abigail stood from her seat and followed them to the kitchen.

"Look. I made it with Hazel. She taught me how to make it. So I made it as a surprise for Daisy. Is it not beautiful? " Amanda asked smiling at the baked cake she made with Hazel.

"If there is another word to use instead of beautiful, I will use it," Chen replied.

Hazel came to the kitchen with the ingredients that would be used to cook the dinner.

Chen removed his jacket and threw it to a nearby chair. He rinsed the meat and put it in a clean pot. He puts all the seasoning and puts the pot on the gas to allow it to boil for a while.

Hazel picked up the knife and started peeling the potatoes. Anyways decorating her Cake.

Abigail felt left out. "How can I help you?" She asked.

"There is nothing here for you to do. Why don't you stroll round the house and get to know it more," Chen suggested.

"No," she refused.

"You are cut off for any work here. Am sure you can't do anything about this. You can't do the work we are doing," Hazel said sarcastically.

"What do you mean by that?" Abigail asked getting frustrated and angry.

"Ladies, you are not kids anymore. Why fight over a minor thing like this?" Chen put in.

"How about you cut the cabbages and vegetables so that you can prove you are cut out for a job like this?" Hazel asked challenging Abigail.

"Okay," Abigail replied.

"You better, do not hurt yourself with the knife just because you want to prove what you can not do. Leave it if you can not do it. I will do it," Hazel said.

"Trying to boost," Abigail said as she picked up the knife. "Do not worry, I can do it

She rinsed the knife and the vegetables and the cabbages and started chopping them.

Within two minutes, she was done chopping the vegetables and cabbages.

Chen, Amanda, and Hazel were all amazed. No one thought could chop the vegetables extraordinarily well like that. Everyone stared at her in bewilderment.

"Is this not how to do it?" She asked Embarrassed. " I will ask Juana to get another one on her way if I ruin this."

"Not at all," it was Chen who found his tongue. "You did extraordinarily well. We are just amazed at how you will chop the vegetables and cabbages at an equal size."

"You must be good with a sword," Hazel said.

"Sword," she repeated.

"Stop with your daydream. Why will Abigail be good with the sword? Not everyone is like you," Chen said.

"It is my mother who taught me," Abigail lied.

"Ohh, Chen told me your mother is dead," Hazel said.

"Dead," Abigail repeated in surprise.

"Is it not true?" Hazel asked.

Abigail replied with a smile. "Juana is a dead meat tonight," she cursed beneath her breath.

"Am sure you had a connection with Sword," Hazel said again.

This time Chen did not take her side.

"Do you know how to use the sword?" He asked.

"Why do you ask?" Abigail asked.

"Nothing," he replied and continued with what he was doing. "He must be hallucinating," he concluded deep inside him

"Sorry but I have to go make this call," Abigail excused Herself. Happy at last she was able to leave the tension in the kitchen.

Juana makes a quick stop at the supermarket to buy some groceries. She entered the supermarket and picked up what she needed. Just then she noticed a shadow behind her. The shadow was walking slowly behind her as if following her.

She walked so fast that it was hard to track her. She found a corner and hid there in the supermarket. The person came after her, not realizing that he had walked past a corner. He shifted backward and before he realized what was happening, Juana was at her back.

"Who are you?" She asked entangling him at his neck.

"I ca - can't breathe," the man Saidd.

She lessened her grip on his neck. " Who are you ?" She asked again.

"Liya, it is me. It is Zamiel," Zamiel said.

"How do you find me?" She asked.

"You are asking me how I found my belove?" He asked.

"Will you answer me?" She asked tightening her grip on his neck.

"You are everywhere Liya. Please, I came bearing a message. So don't kill me before I bear message my love," Zamiel said with a smile on his face.

"What do you want?" She asked.

"I know you still blamed me for what happened seven years ago but to be sincere, I knew nothing about it. You know yourself that I do not know anything about it," Zamiel replied.

"What do you want from me?" Juana asked again.

"I came to help you find the truth about what happened seven years ago. If that is going to make you believe I knew nothing about it," Zamiel replied.

"I do not need your help," Juana said leaving Zamiel alone.

"Are you going to refuse my help even if I help and bear information about the legendary sword," Zamiel asked.

Juana halted in her tracks.

"What do you know?"

"Everything. But looking for a legend sword means looking for your doom," he said.

"It's none of your business. Tell me, what do you know about the legend sword," she asked.

"I will tell you everything but I have to meet Riya first," he replied.

"Let go," she said.

Juana and Zamiel arrived at Daisy's house late in the evening. Hazel had gone to pick Daisy up from the hospital since she had taken her to the hospital in the afternoon for a check-up. Amanda had returned to the orphanage. Chen was busy setting the table for dinner and Abigail sitting down on a chair when Juana and Zamiel arrived.

"Why are you late?" She asked Juana.

"Zamiel meets Abigail, "Juana said ignoring Abigail's questions.

"Zamiel. Did you guys get along back?" Abigail asked in anticipation.

"He is here to talk about the legend sword," Juana said.

"Chen," Abigail called," I have to go somewhere. Don't wait up for me. I might be late," she said.

"Okay," Chen replied from the kitchen.

Zamiel is Lucian's brother. He is also inter
