Chapter Sixteen: Angels POV: Why Not?

Song Recommended: The Morning By RIMON

Fridays.

Yes, It's finally Friday. The workplace had a certain buzz that didn't reveal itself until today and I felt it course through me. I hadn't realized that I had awaited this day with such excitement until it had arrived. Having to wake up, get to the train and get to work had become something I was used to.

I had learned the names of my co-workers and even gotten better at my job. They had been extremely helpful and even Halo didn't need to assist me. I guess she and him were right about life, it was all about your choices and what you chose to do with them.

I had learned how to avoid Cheryal complaints about work, learned how to cook certain meals and how to order from the stores. Today all I looked forward to doing was getting back home and cooking a meal and relaxing. Maybe even Netflixing.

Yeah, I had begun to get used to being a human and I had to admit, it really wasn't that bad and I was beginning to enjoy it more and more every day. I felt peaceful and it didn't hurt that much that I couldn't see or hear from my mom.

Or from him.

"Aural!" I heard and turned to see Alice and Neez coming my way with exciting looks. Both of them smiling like goons as they hurried towards me. I'm not going to like the idea that they have in their mind. "We have an amazing idea." They both said and it made me wince.

No, I wouldn't like this.

"No," I said instantly, knowing that whatever idea they had, was something I was not looking forward to exploring. Ever since I got employed, these two have had ideas that have consisted of making trouble and some of it they had to drag her into it.

Luckily for her, she knew how to run and avoid punishment. These two, on the other hand, knew how to cause trouble but not run away from the consequences. It's like they enjoyed seeing it come their way and face it.

"Oh come on, it's a good thing, I swear." Alice said with a baby pout, "Plus it's your first time going out, so why not go out and have fun. You need to see the wild side of humanity plus you still smell fresh from the fall." Neez said.

"Alright, what's going on here, I can taste the buzz, and it's not the one I'm used to." We heard and turned to see Halo walking towards us with a knowing smile. "Neez and Alice, I know you always got something cooking on a Friday. Dish it out to me will you?" she requested as she took a seat.

"End69 club is opening a new branch and we want to go plus since Aural is new. We want her to come, you know how it is for the fresh falls, they don't know everything." Neez said with a grin. "Be careful, you know how some people get about that here and we aren't supposed to be talking about it. But I'm in, I knock off in like twenty minutes, we can all take a ride to my place." Halo said with a wide grin.

"I ain't going there, I'm going to mind my business and get to my home. I'm going to cook and watch a movie that's it." I said as I went back to updating the last pile of profiles. "Oh come on, it wouldn't hurt to try going out and just enjoying life. You get to see more of the living and not be reminded about how alone we feel sometimes. Just one party. Please." Alice begged.

They all looked at me with begging eyes and I sighed, I didn't want to go. I wanted to mind my business and make food. But no I can't do that, because of a bunch of fallen women wanting to go out to a club. I have only heard bad things about clubs and I am not prepared to face that kind of life.

Not just yet.

Yet the way they all looked at me, made me wonder what would hold me back from actually not trying it because a part of me really wanted to see what it was really like. Seeing more of the living and what they enjoyed.

So I figured why not do what the living do, why not live.
