Uncertain Theory

Kita didn't waste any time and called up Dr. Kbom. The call rang for a few minutes before he was redirected to Voicemail. It seemed that he was busier than usual, otherwise he would've picked up his call. But as he had been redirected to voicemail, he decided to leave one anyway.

"Hello Doctor. How've you been these days? I'm in need of a FTL drive for my ship. It's a heavy cruiser named The Jeager. Can you recommend me a model?..."

After he left left the message, his work was mostly done. Nobody knew FTL drives more than Dr. Kbom. No matter which model he recommended, Kita would buy it in a blink of an eye. Kita knew that he would always have the best interest in mind.

After leaving Dr. Kbom the message, he quickly got up from his seat. He wanted to take a look at something.

He picked up Noir who was lazing on the console in front of him, he quickly walked out of the bridge. This time, he took a pod that would bring him directly towards the rear of the ship.

Kita wanted to check out the lab. The lab was a an important attraction for him. This was partly why the Jeager was so attractive to him.

Kita was always a researcher at heart. No matter what, he had dedicated most of his life to this profession. Although he had diverted from his path for the last few months, but no matter what, Kita couldn't stay away from Research for long.

And now, he had even more things he wanted to research. The things he had experienced back at B1, and the things that had happened later had given him many things to think about. There were so many interesting things about everything on B1 that Kita couldn't help but wonder.

Although he had already figured out that much of the phenomena back on B1 was artificial, but he had a rather radical thought in mind. It was so radical that he couldn't even share this with anyone. Otherwise they would assume that the grief of losing Helen had turned him into an idiot.

So he had kept the thought deep inside his mind. But now that he finally had some free time on his hands, his mind had started wondering again.

In the time he had spent in prison, except for doing push-ups and thinking about Helen, the only other thing he thought about was how everything on the planet just worked. The entire system was extremely cohesive to the point that they complimented each other and worked together to do something.

At a glance one would think that the entire planet was about growing the trees, but that wasn't it. Cause as far as he knew there was no endgame to that. The trees never stopped growing as long as they were connected to the energy networks and there were available elements around them.

Then what was the endgame for the trees? Apparently there wasn't any. That was that

But another thing was the monolith. The thing that had killed Helen.

At a glance that thing was at the center of the energy lines. But he doubted that was the case for the whole planet. It was more likely that there were more than a single monolith on that planet.

If Kita's guess was right, then the monolith or lith's were just the central node for a specific section of the planet.

It was shown that the lines ran throughout the whole planet, although they had never managed to reach the center of the node which was probably in the core of the planet, it was more likely that the core of the planet wasn't just a huge mess of energy lines.

Instead, what Kita proposed was that, instead of putting the monolith at the center of the lines network, it was merely like a secondary hub. The main hub instead was inside the core of the planet.

That was the central node to which the other monolith's would report.

The reason for Kita's thought process was in fact the lines themselves. Although the lines only transported energy inside them, but the curious thing was that the energy transmission was sporadic and different from place to place. The energy activity in the lines that they first encountered at the forest wasn't comparable to the activity at the monolith.

Although the activity seemed random at first. But, what if it wasn't? What if it was just a method of communication? What if the lines transmitted data though the energy activity. Ancient humans had shown that transmitting energy through a carrier could be used to transmit data, It had been done before. So, It was highly plausible that it was the case. In that case, if one followed the chain.

Then the monoliths would be the first hub for the energy lines, and then in turn, the monoliths had a link to the central node at the core of the planet! To which they transmitted the congregated data!

If that was the case, then Kita believed that even the planet wasn't natural. It wasn't just some planet that they grabbed from somewhere and terraformed to suit their needs and then proceeded to setup all the energy lines and the monoliths and the central core. This was too much work and would be highly inefficient.

Instead, it would be easier to create a whole planet from scratch! Kita believed that it was the case. Whoever was responsible for the 4 planets, might have engineered the whole planet itself!

The way they had mastered energy and everything related with it, Kita believed that it was highly possible.

This was the radical thought that Kita had kept to himself. If he shared this theory with other's they would surely think that he was mad. Because it wasn't even conceivable how one could engineer an entire planet from scratch.

And not just one. There were 4 identical planets in that system. So if Kita was right, then it wasn't just 1 planet. It was 4 of them.

Humanity couldn't even dream about something like this, let alone achieve such a feat! But it was certainly something to behold!

But for what reason? Why would they go through such lengths just to grow some trees that seemingly had no endgame?

That.... Kita didn't know.
