The Space Station

After spending a few hours in the Red Jack, Kita said his farewells and came out of the Restaurant. Although it was fun catching up with everyone after spending months in confinement. Kita had other priorities in mind.

After Kita came out of the Red Jack, he walked towards one of the stations. From there, he got on transport that would take him to the space station that was orbiting Bican III. As he went to buy a ticket, he saw a line to the counter.

Before, he could just skip the line by going through the military terminal by showing his credentials. But that wasn't possible anymore. So he had to line up and buy a ticket like any layman would.

As he approached the automated Ticket Dispenser, He asked for a ticket to the space station.

It confirmed his identity and asked for payment.

That's when it hit him, He didn't have any money on him. He fumbled on his body to see if he could find any spare. He felt something inside his right pocket. He took it out, it was an envelope from York. He didn't realize when York had slipped it to him.

He opened it up to find a card and a note inside. It said,

"There's some money on the card, I know you don't have any on you. Don't remember to get one as soon as possible. - York".

"That guy....." this gesture left Kita stunned, York did indeed know Kita the most. He figured that Kita wouldn't probably have any cards on him. So he slipped him some.

Kita used the card to complete the purchase. After which, he walked towards the entrance. After entering the station, he sent York a thank you before boarding a passenger transport. There were about 70 Other passengers with him on the transport.

Although going to orbit had become really cheap, these transport companies always wanted to find ways to save money where they could. And the more passengers on a single transport, the higher the overall efficiency. That's why they used pretty large transports for such purposes.

As Kita took his seat, he waited a bit as the transport slowly filled up. After which it began to hum, which indicated that it was getting ready for liftoff.

Soon Kita felt it take off, it would take about 30 mins to get to the space station. So Kita opened up his terminal and began checking up on the latest news.

While in confinement, he didn't have access to the galactic net or any media devices for that matter, So he didn't know much about what was going on.

As he browsed the galactic net for news, He saw news about the Shore and how on the mission, something happened that made it turn back. There was also news about the casualties. Although it didn't say much about the mission itself, There were plenty of clues given for someone to understand that a lot of people had died in a freak accident while on the mission.

It made sense, the Mission to the V point was a highly classified mission. And everything that happened there had to be under serious lockdown. But the people in the media always seemed to have ways to find out some details about the proceedings. It didn't seem like they knew the whole picture, though. Otherwise, it would've turned into a huge scandal. One that would've exposed the inner workings of the THS Shore, and nobody wanted that.

As Kita browsed through some latest news, the Transport had reached the space station and had completed the docking procedures.

There was a localized gravity field on the transport and on the Space station. So Kita didn't feel anything when he got out of the transport and stepped into the Space station.

"Huh, here again."

After Kita entered the Space Station, his first stop was the local branch of the Galactic Bank. It was a huge Bank that operated all over the human space. It had branches in almost every Human occupied system. It was controlled by the Bank Consortium that oversaw the operations of the Bank. No other bank was able to match the size and prestige of this huge Corporation.

As Kita entered the space station, he walked towards the Main plaza that was just ahead of the Station. After reaching there, he looked around a bit, He saw the Bank. He walked towards it.

After he entered the building, he saw it was almost empty. That made sense, most of the transactions these days happened electronically. As he approached a free desk, the clerk noticed him, he gestured him to sit.

The Transaction at the Bank went smoothly. After finding out who it was, they quickly made appropriate arrangements for him. Kita was a platinum Member of the Bank. So it was only right to treat him a VIP.

Kita held the card he had just gotten from the Bank. Now he had access to all his funds. He could just use this card or his Comm to pay almost anywhere.

He began to walk again. He needed to rent a place for a few days before he took off and out of this system. But there were a few things he needed to do first.

He searched on the galactic net for a bit and found a somewhat small Hotel that looked pretty cozy.

So he took a pod and quickly reached the area where the station was. As he stood in front of it, he looked at the Hotel in question. He wasn't expecting a somewhat Natural looking Hotel Building that gave out the feeling of being a homestead.

"Interesting...." Kita decided to head in any way.

As Kita entered, he was greeted by a woman in the front desk, Kita stated his intentions and the Women tapped the projection in front of her and found a terrace room which a huge balcony that overlooked the whole general vicinity of the Hotel. Kita liked the setting, so he paid for 3 days worth of stay and was guided towards his room.
