The Neverlake Family

After Kita picked up the Cat, he went straight for the room he was staying in. After exiting the pod, he swiped his comm and entered the room .

"Welcome to the place. Well, we're not gonna stay here for long anyway."

"Meow.", The cat jumped on the the Bed beside his luggage and looked at Kita.

"Right. You're gonna need a name. What should I name you?", Kita contemplated for a bit. The Cat didn't have a name as far as he knew. So he needed to give one to it. He didn't really know what he should name him. He never had a pet in the past.

After racking his brain for a few minutes he finally settled on a name that he quite liked.

He picked up the cat before bringing him to the eye level.

"You're gonna be called Noir." Kita said before bursting out with a smile.

"Meow." Noir purred. It seemed it that he quite like the name.

Kita put Noir on his shoulder before picking up the luggage that was already packed on his bed. He quickly made sure everything was in order before turning to leave the room.

"Let's go. We have a lot to do." With that said, Kita left the room with Noir on his shoulder.

After he disembarked from the star farer, he quickly took a shuttle to the main station. After he checked into a hotel, he quickly settled down before giving Osritch a call.

The guy picked up shortly.

"Hey, I'm here at the Krister system. Have you talked with the Owner yet?"

"Yes, I've already talked with the other party and have set up a meeting for tomorrow morning. You need to go to Krister IV. There should be someone there to pick you up."

"Someone's gonna pick me up?"

"Yes, the owner wants to meet with you in a private port. Normal people can't access it anyway."

"I see. Who is the owner by the way? You haven't give me much information about the guy I just spent 3 weeks to meet."

"You're not there to meet the guy, You're there to meet the buy a ship. Anyway, I'm sending you a information package. Everything you need to know should be inside."

"Thanks."

"Let me know how it goes. If he gives you the green light, I can complete the rest of the procedures. So, just get him to sell the ship to you."

"Ok, Let's see what happens.", Kita said before he ended the call.

After that he turned towards Noir who was lounging on his bed. The cat felt Kita looking at him, so he opened his eyes and looked at Kita with a questioning gaze.

Kita thought for a few moments. Him buying up Noir was a really spontaneous decision. So he wasn't really prepared for keeping a Cat. He didn't really know what to do either. He needed to buy a few things like cat food and a collar for Noir.

"Hey buddy, You wanna go shopping with me?", Kita said with a smile.

"Meow."

"Okay, let's go." Kita picked him up before settling him on his right shoulder. For some reason, the cat sat their quite comfortably. And it was easy for Kita to walk with his hands free. So it was quite an agreeable arrangement for the both of them.

As Kita walked out of the Hotel. He quickly got into a pod that would bring him to the shopping district of the space station. The space station here was a bit more luxurious than the previous one. It was because the Krister system wasn't a military stronghold. Instead it was more like a upper class system where many of the big shots of the empire had their villas and homes.

The Krister system had 6 colonizable planets. which made it a prime destination for humans who wanted to build their new homes. After it was opened for Colonization, many of the rich people of the empire started to buy up land in the different planets and build their huge villas and mansions.

That slowly increased the price of land in the star system and turned it into more of an affluent system.

Kita quickly went inside a huge mall. He went to a pet shop and choose a collar for Noir. He had them engrave the name Noir on the collar. He also bought some essentials before moving to other stores.

After shopping for a few hours, they got back to their hotel room. Where Kita took everything and setup temporary home for Noir.

From the looks of it, the cat quite loved them.

After that, Kita went ahead and opened up the Data packet that Osritch had sent him. It contained many information about the owner of the jeager.

The Owner's name was Gregor Neverlake. There was a photo of the guy.

Kita knew this guy, He was one the current patriarch of the Neverlake family. The Neverlake Family was quite a bigshot in the political scene in the empire. They had a few conglomerates under them. But the most important thing was that at any given time, at least one person from the Neverlake family was involved in the political scene. That gave them quite the recognition.

This guy, Gregor who was the current patriarch was involved in the political scene for the past few years. But as far as Kita knew, he had recently retired from that and was currently only the patriarch of the Neverlake family.

"Why does he want to sell the Ship in the first place?", Kita asked himself that question.

The Neverlake family wasn't short on money. Even if they didn't have any use for the ship, they could afford to store it away on a distant port or something. It was weird for them to try selling it.

From the looks of it, there seemed to be more to the story than what met the eye. So, Kita decided to not think too deep into it.

He skimmed through the rest of the information. Kita was prepared for the meeting tomorrow.

The Next day, Kita went to the station and took a shuttle to the Krister IV space station. After he got off from the shuttle, He quickly walked to the meeting point they had set before hand.

After reaching there, two guards seemed to have noticed him and approached him.

"Are you Mr. Kita Theils?", One of the guard spoke.

"Yes. How can I help you?"

"Mr. Gregor sent us. Please come with us."

"Okay, let's go.", Kita started to follow them.

Kita followed them to another shuttle where they hopped in and it was underway. Kita didn't really know where they might take him. But he had an Idea. A planet such as Krister IV had a few docks and ports orbiting it. Some were public to anyone, but some were private. They were probably taking him to one of those docks.

But to his surprise, the Shuttle instead started to go towards the Direction of the planet. It seemed that the Owner wanted to meet him on the planet instead of some space port.
