Arrival of the Patron

In a highly secret research facility, There was a sudden buzz of activity. All the Officers and chief researchers had been woken up or summoned for a really important meeting.

The top officers of the facility rushed to get prepared and make preparation for the upcoming arrival of their most prominent leader. The Founder and Patron of this research facility.

"Why is he suddenly coming here? Has something happened?" One of the researcher asked his colleague beside him who was also busy writing away reports for their ongoing research projects. No one really knew what the patron would want to take a look at, So they needed to be prepared for everything.

"I don't know man. Chief said that it was a sudden announcement and he'll be here within a few hours. He's already in the system!" The guy said while still typing. He didn't have the time to stop or to look the other way. There was too much to do!

"Suddenly coming unannounced like this. I bet something big happened."

"I don't know man, just keep working" His colleague was really swamped with work and didn't want to talk any further. Both of them worked to quickly prepare the project reports.

This kind of scenes were widespread all around the Facility. The huge facility had thousands of researchers and other personnel, And hundreds of research projects were going on at any given time. Some old and some recent.

The sudden arrival of the patron had put everyone in a difficult situation. Everyone who was on break or sleeping had been woken up and forced to work.

The officers were in an event greater pinch. They had been notified that the patron wanted to hold a summit after he arrived. That meant a meeting of all the project chiefs in the facility.

Normally that wasn't a problem, but that problem was that he hadn't announced the agenda of the summit.

That was a huge problem. It meant that he could ask anyone about anything. If it fell under their project, then they needed to be prepared to answer his questions.

A few of the top researchers held a small meeting before his arrival.

"What's the meaning of holding a summit all of a sudden? And he didn't even let us know! How are we supposed to prepare with such short notice." A bald researcher banged his fist on the table in front of him.

He was visibly raged about the sudden development.

"Oh, shut up. Everyone knows that you're behind on your projects and are trying to delay the reporting to him. If he asks for your updates, you're on your own." Dr. Kerio said in a mocking tone.

"You.. Do you even know what I'm working on? Have you any idea what will happen if I manage to figure this out?" Dr. Ridgar spoke in a heated tone. As he looked at Kerio with dagger eyes.

"Oh, I know what you've spent the past decade trying to figure out. You should've already come to the conclusion that your search if futile. There's no way you can create Anti-matter in this universe. You haven't been able to figure out how to keep it stabilized once you've created it. Face it. You're just wasting time and resources towards an unobtainable goal." Dr. Kerio continued in his Mocking tone. It was clear that he didn't believe in what Dr. Ridgar was working on.

"Enough! I will not have you guys bicker about such things while The patron is already in the system." One of the researcher spoke. If one took a look at the sitting arrangement of the table, they could easily figure out that the one who spoke right now was the leader of this gathering.

"Do we know what brings him here all of a sudden? Or did he just pop by while traveling to someplace else?" One of the other researcher asked the leader.

"We don't know. But I've spoken with his assistant, he has kept a tight lip on why he's coming over, but It's not an unplanned visit. He's clearly here on a purpose. What exactly, that still remains unknown." The Leader spoke in a grave tone.

Everyone was troubled by this sudden arrival.

"Let's not fret over it any longer. We need to prepared for his eminent arrival. It's better than sitting here trying to figure out his motives." One of the researcher spoke.

Everyone nodded.

The meeting soon ended and everyone dispersed.

A few hours later, A small fleet consisting of a battleship, 2 cruisers and a few destroyers came close to the moon where the facility was situated.

A small entourage of shuttles left the fleet and flew towards the moon. The Hanger bays of the facility was quite well hidden, but this wasn't a problem for the shuttles as they knew exactly where they needed to go.

As the shuttles entered the hanger bay, The huge team of researchers watched with weighted breaths. The group of shuttles were inevitably high-tech and packed with cutting edge features that made them even more secure. Each of these shuttles costed as much a corvette! That was saying something.

As the shuttles slowly touched down, The researchers watched on. Their hearts beat even faster as the most important person in the hanger bay was inside the shuttle.

Soon, a group of bodyguards dispatched and surrounded the main shuttle which was the most impressive of them all.

The doors to the shuttle opened and a group of people came out. Most of them were body guards to the main person in charge.

For many of the researchers it was the first time they were meeting with the patron. He was a busy man and couldn't be bothered often.

But one could clearly figure out who was the leader in the group.

The old man had a face full of cleanly cut white beard. His head was filled with the similar color hair. His glasses couldn't hide the sharp look in his eyes. The Wrinkles paired with the beard and the hair, gave him a rather regal and imposing look.

Wearing a fine tailored white suit that went against all the modern cloths that people generally wore. But make no mistake, This simple looking suit costed more than a normal shuttle and were packed with such cutting edge defensive features.

This was the founder and the patron of the Research facility. This was Dr. Aeon Flux. The Imperial Researcher and the Head of The council.

His entourage walked towards the group of researcher standing in await to greet him.

After he approached them, The chief of the facility came forward to greet him.

Dr. Aeon ignored him and moved forward. He kept walking until he reached the group standing behind the facility leader.

He spoke in a clear, deep and imposing voice.

"Who among you is Dr. Yriggs?"

A Lady wearing a White lab coat walked forward as she moved to introduce herself.

She gave a bow before speaking.

"I am Dr. Yriggs My lord." She didn't get up from her bow and kept that posture.

"Follow me." He said before walking again. he didn't look back nor did he utter anything more.

Everyone in the hanger bay looked dazed at the scene.

In the mind of the researchers, there was only a single question.

What was happening?
