The Gods announced the Apocalypse and monsters coming from different mythologies and folklores were unleashed on Earth. Having basically the duty to fight in this war against evil, they finally decided to abandon humans leaving them a system that allows them to evolve, to know more about their enemy and the situation of the world. Lazar will not only have to survive, which is already quite difficult, but he will also realize that he has a role to play in this Apocalypse by leading those who will become his new family. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I'm Barbare, the author. During the early course of Lazar's actions, Amandla stood still observing him with keen curiosity, but when she saw the way he was wielding his energy-charged weapon, that curiosity turned into bewilderment, 'Lazar, you can't be serious?!' She exclaimed inwardly as her eyes gradually widened, believing that he was planning to target the structure...

As crazy as it may seem to her, her assumption became reality when Lazar swung his blade slightly above his head in a horizontal motion from right to left and as a result a mass of concentrated energy resembling the skill he had displayed yesterday though twice as impressive in both size and energy concentration flew from his weapon and crashed into several metal beams of the structure about 20 meters off the ground.

*BANG*

A booming noise echoed as Lazar's attack hit the beams and the entire structure shook slightly from the power of the impact...

*SCREECH*

It didn't end there; in its momentum the attack gradually began to eat away at the steel of the beams in its path like a grinder, causing the structure to shake more and more and generating a screeching sound so unbearable that Amandla was still feeling a vivid pain in her eardrums even after covering her ears with her hands.

When Lazar's attack dissipated and with it that damn noise, Amandla was disappointed to observe that the damage her partner had caused didn't reflect at all the confidence he had initially shown when he had approached the structure without any hesitation in his steps because his skill had barely damaged the beams it had touched...

And as if her eyes weren't enough to realize that it was a monumental failure, Lazar's reaction reinforced this idea, "Well, it's far bellow my expectations..." He admitted with embarrassment in his voice while lowering his weapon, which confirmed that he no longer intended to attack the structure because he understood it was clearly just a waste of energy.

'It's far below everyone's expectations.' Amandla added without voicing it before pinching the bridge of her nose with the thumb and index of her left hand while displaying an annoyed expression...

'Now what?' She then asked herself with slight concern, not expecting an instant answer to her internal question but still receiving one in a rather inexpected and violent form.

*BAM*

The noise was slightly muffled for her as her ears hadn't yet fully recovered from the very unpleasant auditive experience they had just undergone, but it wasn't crippling enough for Amandla not to instantly hear when something resoundingly hit one of the beams of the structure…

And what a surprise it was for her to see when she looked up that this something was a someone and that someone a naked 'man'.

She ignored if this 'man' had fallen just because the shaking of the structure had made him slip or for another reason that was probably just as ridiculous, but in any case she was convinced that he was one of the 4 presences she had sensed since earlier...

With that in mind, it basically meant that he was an Alpha and that this so-called Alpha was going to have a death worthy of a cockroach judging by the blood flowing profusely from the back of his head, which was undoubtedly the result of the initial collision between him and a metal beam and the fact that he was going to take in countless other beams before crashing to the ground.

When she finished processing all that happened, the first thing Amandla did was to rejoice by saying to herself with a smirk '1 down, 3 to go' but it was a short-lived burst of enthusiasm because she knew that if Lazar had heard her thoughts he would retort something like 'your victory dance will wait for the moment when we will bring that number from 3 to 0' in a grumpy tone.

*CRACK*

As if it was a starting signal, at the same time as the sound of the second collision between the 'man' who had just fallen from the structure and a metal beam was heard, 2 naked 'women' and 1 naked 'man' jumped out from behind the metal beams where they were hidden and headed towards the back of the structure, swinging from beam to beam with their arms, no doubt thinking that by bypassing Amandla and Lazar, who were at the front of the structure, they would have a better chance of avoiding the attacks they would throw at them.

Amandla didn't fail to notice them and from the corner of her eye she saw with his change of posture that Lazar didn't either which led to an almost immediate reaction on their side...

Without any need for prior communication and to Amandla's delight, Lazar did what could be considered as a good option to gain the advantage against the Alphas and started running, bypassing the structure as the latters were doing to catch up with them and trap them between him and Amandla, as for her, she stayed in place, raised her bow and began to aim at her hopefully next victim.

Amandla reaffirmed her grip on the string of her bow and focused her vision, she wasn't about to make such a difficult shot but at this distance it wasn't hurting to maximize her chance of not missing...

Being the slowest and the most imposing of the 3 remaining Alphas her target was an easy pick; the only Ganipote remaining among them.

A distance of nearly 60 meters was separating them and the fact that he was almost constantly on the move and that there were many metallic beams between Amandla and him was reducing her shooting possibilities, but with the right timing, she knew she would get him...

So she remained patient, looking for the perfect opportunity, continuing to observe him meticulously and making small changes in her aim so that when the right moment came, she would only have to release her arrow.

The moment Amandla had expected finally came when, after swinging from a beam, the Ganipote found himself in mid-air and she estimated that no beam would be in the way of her arrow if she released it now...

However, at the last moment, Amandla, who was in a state of concentration where very little could escape her, noticed something that disturbed her, something that disturbed her long enough for the arrow she shot to have no chance of hitting her original target...

And yet, when she saw the trajectory of her arrow she started smiling like a maniac.

It wasn't a smile indicative of madness but of relief as if for Amandla, Lazar and her had already defeated the Alphas, and their was a good reason behind that since for her it was really the case...

What she had noticed was the real reason why the Ganipote from earlier had fallen from the structure and now all that was needed to get on the road to victory was for her arrow to hit its new target.

A question arises at the end of this chapter...

What do you think she noticed?

Good luck to find, it's not evident at all.
