"Jin Cheng! You're here~ What do you think?"
The four big boys idiotically stood at the entrance looking in, making it hard not to notice them.
Zhou Sinin was the first to call out to Lu Jincheng, smiling and opening her hands behind her back, gesturing for him to take a look at her exquisite design.
To protect her skin from harmful gases, she not only wore a thick mask but also deliberately put on a pair of black-framed glasses on the bridge of her nose. Her charming peach-blossom eyes looked as if sealed by a spell, perfectly embedded in the dark frames, exuding an intellectual charm.
"This progress, this design, this taste, it's amazing!"
After taking his roommates around for a quick tour, Lu Jincheng returned to the entrance of the cafe and showered her with enthusiastic praise - nothing held back.
Mr. Lu always nailed the perfect balance: cool when he needed to disappear, bombastically praising when the time called for it.
"Ha ha ha ha ha, it's just average, the time was too short after all."
Zhou Sinin giggled, her parallel tails of her eyes rising slightly; her peach-blossom eyes smiling like a crescent moon.
Although only her pair of eyes were visible, they still dazzled the three single dogs by Lu Jincheng's side.
"These three are my roommates."
Lu Jincheng turned to introduce them.
"This is the new owner of Floating Light Cafe, Zhou Sinin from next door at Finance and Political Science University."
"Hello everyone~ Lu Jincheng is actually the new owner; I'm just helping out with his work."
Zhou Sinin took off her mask with one hand to breathe some fresh air, and with the other hand patted her chest to adjust her breathing. She smiled and greeted the three men, delivering a devastatingly beautiful blow.
"Hello, hello..."
Including Qiang Zhihao, who had quite a bit of experience, the three brothers couldn't take their eyes off Zhou Sinin.
Equally beautiful, if Guan Yongyi's beauty was like a gallery of art to be admired from afar, then Zhou Sinin's beauty had a touch of mischief, as well as an innate sense of approachability.
Her peach-blossom eyes could enchant someone, and she often smiled, her mouth featuring endearing dimples – so any element that could create distance was melted away by her overall warmth.
This completely different aura determined their respective levels of popularity.
While the short-haired, aloof Guan Yongyi had an unparalleled independence, the beautiful and smiling Zhou Sinin attracted more boys wanting to cherish and adore her.
"Lao Lu, so it turns out you own this cafe?"
"We wouldn't have known if we hadn't passed by today!"
Zhou Sinin and Lu Jincheng chatted outside for a bit. It wasn't long before she waved her hand to him and obediently went back to supervising the work.
The group eventually settled down in a modest restaurant, not in the mood for picky eating, all brimming with gossip waiting for Lu Jincheng to clear up.
Qiang Zhihao was the first to start questioning; he had been shocked by Lu Jincheng once again today.
Damn, I thought you just had some connections at the university, but it turns out you're a silent rich second generation!
Beiyuan might not look that grand, but sitting between Nanhu University and Finance University on prime real estate, the rent must not be cheap!
What kind of family do you come from?
Qiang Zhihao, usually so confident in his local status, couldn't help but feel a bit upset.
He could never spend his entire monthly allowance, often treating others to meals, feeling he had enough sway among his peers.
Yet, he hadn't expected Lu Jincheng to effortlessly invest in opening a store - it was a move totally beyond a student's lifestyle!
"It's only been a couple of days since the deal was done, I'm actually partnering with Zhou Sinin on this."
Lu Jincheng shrugged his shoulders, his movements while ordering food still smooth as silk.
"How much would that cost..."
Zhang Gaoqiang rubbed his eyes, no longer daring to continue the thought.
On a good month, he could only budget 1,000 yuan for living expenses, and considering the prices at Floating Light Cafe, even going once every half month counted as a luxury.
Now someone was telling him that they bought an entire coffee shop?
His gaze towards Lu Jincheng began to change.
"Did none of you notice how Zhou Sinin looks at Lao Lu?"
"What's the phrase again, stringy! Yeah, it's like cheese strings!"
Compared to the other two roommates, Liu Yisheng's focus was entirely different.
He was utterly powerless against sweet, smiling girls, not to mention someone like Zhou Sinin who was the pinnacle of attractiveness with a distinctive personal style.
"Lao Lu, you're really asking for it!"
Even he, a mere passerby, could see that Zhou Sinin's attitude towards Lao Lu was faintly special.
When Lu Jincheng looked into the distance, she would lift her head and gaze towards him with such tenderness!
Business partners who join forces tend to interact with a certain distance between them, definitely not like what he had just seen.
The guy was handsome and wealthy, and the quality of girls around him was top-notch; how come all the good things in the world happened to you?
He really deserved to die!
"Indeed, he deserves it! No wonder Lao Lu wasn't interested in mixers, always saying he's asking for his brothers as a favor, I thought he was just showing off!"
Qiang Zhihao cracked open a bottle of Golden Dragon Spring beer, nodding continuously, agreeing with Liu Yisheng's point.
With girls of that caliber around, it's no wonder he said he wasn't familiar with Zhong Ruixi anymore; one could understand and keeping a distance was definitely the right thing to do.
"Once we finish redecorating and reopen, I'll give each of you a membership card."
Lu Jincheng smiled to reassure his roommates, "You can use it when you come by yourself or bring a girl. We've set up a check-in spot that's especially great for taking photos."
"It should be quite popular by then."
"Really?"
Upon hearing this, Zhang Gaoqiang couldn't help but ask.
"Of course, as long as the photos are good and the taste isn't lacking, it's bound to be packed every day."
Lu Jincheng lifted his glass and added with a smile, "For instance, Mou Keyan still has several hundred left on her card, get it?"
"Fuck, Lao Lu, can I come and work part-time?"
Suddenly, Liu Yisheng's imagination painted a picture: Floating Light Cafe filled with customers, himself standing behind the bar, nonchalantly selecting among them, the moment of choosing felt incredibly real.
"Can I come too?"
Zhang Gaoqiang's eyes also held a hint of a different light.
"You guys fucking roll! Can't you be a bit more ambitious?"
Lu Jincheng cursed while sipping his drink, helplessly saying, "I can hire plenty of full-time, obedient staff for eighteen hundred yuan; what do I need you big shots for? To add customers on WeChat?"
Relationships among young people are supposed to be pure, and it would be too boring to reduce them to an employer-employee relationship.
Finally getting a second chance at life, Mr. Lu didn't want to mix too much of the smell of money into the emotions among peers.
"But when I need help, of course, I will call you, don't worry."
He then thought about the start-up phase of the studio, genuinely needing a few hardworking young laborers, and immediately changed his tone.
