Oh Well

We returned to the Inn. Me, Escalor, and the girl.

Siarre was waiting for us in the tavern. She saw the girl, gave us both a glance, and shrugged. No words. But yes, she did not like this, no.

"Master…" The beastwoman, Vivia managed. She was trying to keep her torn sweatpants from showing too much skin while also squirming her legs… and was it me or was her face a little red?

'She's not dressed like that because she likes to.'

"Yes?" I spoke but obviously, a groan came out.

Well, this was fucking annoying.

'I need to learn to talk, and fast!'

"I need to… use the toilet…"

"I'll escort her to one," Siarre sighed, dragging the girl away.

Meanwhile, Escalor and I went over to the counter and sat down. Escalor poured me a drink, something brown.

Brandy.

Not bad.

But wait… I'd consumed quite a lot of food, right? So how come, I didn't get a nature's call? No, it wasn't like I wanted to go badly or something but what if I got super constipated and… yeah, I didn't want to think about it. Back in fourth grade it had happened. I didn't go for a good week and then they had to blast it out with an enema and that was not fun… I really didn't want to think about it.

Number two was one thing but- what about number one? How come I didn't need to go even once?

Odd. I wasn't drinking water and I wasn't thirsty but I did drink a lot of blood and blood was mostly water so… so what the hell?

This brandy was good though. Literally the second time I was having one; the first time, I stole a bottle from dad's pantry, got super drunk and then beaten to a pulp because apparently that was super expensive stuff he was saving for a special guest.

Normally, I only drank beer if I wanted to get drunk, which happened to be once a month. After my parents' death, I got more and more into alcohol but that was awfully short lived. During the later stages of my life though, I couldn't drink no matter how much I wanted to; broke as fuck.

"Rumors about you will spread," Escalor said. "New undead creation isn't super rare. Skeleton followers aren't either. However skeleton creation, as in, creating new conscious skeleton is unheard of in this era. So, you'll become really famous in this city and eventually across the world."

"You think that would put me in danger?"

"There's a possibility. Really powerful individuals might try to persuade you to move to their nation or want you to revive their dead as Skeletons or even turn themselves to skeletons."

"Why would they voluntarily become my slaves?"

"That's the thing. Even if they're your slaves, they could just ask for your permission to continue living like they always did. Not only would they now be a superior race, they would also be virtually indestructible and immortal, or so they would likely think."

"I won't though," since I'd be the one taking the HP loss.

But wait, why this necromancy and summon both relied on HP rather than MP?

And, I pulled out my card-

Well, now I had a new skill (not that I wanted that). But I'd leveled up?

"How do you level up anyway?"

"By doing things you're good at. Generally slaying monsters and performing 'skills' help you gain experience and level up but unless you're specifically training you can't really raise your stats. For example, if you're a sprinter and you always run while you slay monsters, your speed will increase slightly. But the stats don't show numerical values, so we aren't very sure on that front."

'You really love giving long winded answers.' Not that I was complaining.

"So, it's just a guess at this point?"

There were of course various other patrons here. And I attracted quite a few stares. It was like I was some sort of item on a display. And although I didn't notice any malicious intent, I did get quite a few curious, and even some envious stares. Although the latter was probably directed at my companion rather than me.

"A theory and technically, yes: a guess."

"Well, I'll just repeat what I'd been doing for now…"

It was midday. I could do almost anything since I'd had some food beforehand. And I had servants now so I could probably go out on my own and slay some monsters or experiment.

But I didn't want to do that. Particularly because I didn't have enough information regarding the world yet.

Precisely why- I waited for Siarre to come back.

But she wasn't coming back. It'd been almost half an hour. At this point there was no doubt the fox woman was constipated, but this bad?

The foxwoman. She was now my slave. To be honest, I still didn't understand or rather want to understand what happened. It was almost as though I was running away again, running from reality; preferring to hide in the fog of ignorance. I could tell, I'd bought a slave. I could tell, her life was now mine. I could tell, I performed the very act I utterly despised in my previous life. And yet, why didn't I feel anything? Why didn't I feel any remorse? Any pity?

'Because I'm a skeleton?'

Not only did I not regret but I also kept thinking way too calmly about this situation. 'Better accept it, you're no longer human, Sean.'

"I think it's about time we go check on them. Maybe they ran into some trouble?" Escalor said.

"Yeah, probably…"

We didn't need to get up though. After all, Siarre and the woman both came back. And she was fully dressed? Vivia had clothes on. Dark blue tank top and leather pants. She didn't have any armor on. Just that. I didn't realize before but that girl had been packing on the front side just as much as she was packing on the rear side, huh? Cause both dresses were fitted to perfection. Or was that intentional? Not that I cared in particular.

"Well… my lord," Siarre looked down on us, standing just a step away. "Shall we get back to your room and start your lessons for today?"

I felt weird to stare up at her face and see that clear disgust…. For once she wasn't respectful at all.

Oh well.
