Like a child

"Yes, let us return," I said.

There was tension in the air.

"What about her?" Siarre asked.

"She can stand in Lord Sean's room. There's enough space on the floor and-" Escalor attempted.

"And you expect a grown woman to just lie on the floor?" Siarre growled. "We can treat her better and better we will treat," a hard breath and a glare.

"Alright, alright," Escalor gave in, and went over to the counter to book another room.

Meanwhile- Siarre led us to the stairs and we kept on climbing. The three of us.

With how light my body was, climbing the stairs was no problem. Yeah, no; the whole stairs creaked like it was about to break down though. From a stamina stand point, I was totally fine. Siarre didn't have any problems either. The same couldn't be told about Vivia though. She was panting like crazy.

"You guys have too much stamina…" She managed, huffing and stopping every now and then.

We ignored her but did stop every now and then. She was right. We did have more stamina than her, particularly me. I had the most stamina in the group. Perhaps because I didn't have lungs or organs? Was I even breathing? I couldn't tell.

"I just heard a rumor about you resurrecting an elf," Siarre said. "Was it conscious?"

"Somewhat, yes," I said.

I didn't feel the whole of her conscience, but I did get the feeling, she was conscious to some degree. No, probably to a great degree. She was my first successful-

"That's fruitful but please refrain from doing that in public or using skeleton followers in public. For now at least. You need to gain some experience so you can defend yourself from unwanted attention."

They were both concerned about me. And I could understand what they were going on about. "Noted." Which was why, I was on board.

"Also… was a slave really necessary?" She spoke telepathically.

Normally, they spoke out loud. But-

"Escalor insisted-" Which was true. "Besides, she's an adventurer and it would be best for now. If she wishes, I'm fine with letting her go assuming she can pay back some of the money."

Vivia didn't really say a thing and just followed us up. She was of course curious as to what was happening and why I wasn't talking.

"I see."

Escalor really wanted to buy me something.

He meant to buy a luxury slave for me, and budgeted 3 Hex (Which would have been enough to run a family of three for 3 years if used modestly). Yeah, slaves were really expensive stuff….

So, that was a lot of money. And since we only used one hex, we still had two left. Or rather he did and he wanted to buy me stuff. Siarre agreed with the notion as well; both wanted to buy me stuff.

"We should buy some adventuring gear. Since you're unable to use Spatia, we could maybe buy you a ring too?" Escalor said.

"Or maybe we could buy him an electrifying ring to help him speak through sparks?" Siarre said. She'd mentioned that before. Speaking through electric sparks since I had thunder affinity.

But producing sparks through my fingers proved to be quite an ordeal, and it cost like 12 MP every time, so I didn't practice much or rather couldn't.

"Wait, he can't talk?" Vivia wondered.

We were all in my room. I was the only one sitting.

While the rest were going on about what to do and stuff. They mostly just talked among themselves…

"Well, he can but since he'd only just revived, it won't be possible for him to produce effective sounds, just yet," Siarre explained.

Kind of jarring. I felt like a child whose parents were deciding what to buy before going to the mall.

"Why not buy me armor?" I suggested.

"Armor? Your stamina and defense basically mean you're impregnable, so it's kind of pointless, actually," Escalor said. "Besides, you'll only grow stronger from here on out so-"

So, they were suggesting I stick with leather for now. And instead focus on useful adventuring gear.

I was fast. Much faster than typical half-deads. But if I wore armor, I'd be sacrificing that speed for virtually not much.

I didn't really care about defense and speed and all that. I had an idol of sorts back when I did nothing but watch movies and play games. My favorite movies were of course LOTR and my favorite character ever was Sauron. I loved the guy. The best-looking guy ever. It was a shame he got nerfed and taken down but I loved his character design, particularly, his armor and the concept of a ring that could control others. I didn't think he was right, nor did I think he was a good guy but I loved his character design and the fancy ring.

This was particularly why I was stoked to see many rings on Escalor's fingers. But apparently, nothing like the one ring existed here. Their armors however, were indeed kind of similar to those ten manservants. So, wasn't it possible I could have something custom made that looked similar to that guy?

"Fair enough but I'm sure there's some special metal around that isn't super heavy like your armors," I said.

"Oh you know about Mathril?"

Mathirl? Did they mean Mithril? I didn't even bother asking. "But I'm guessing that's also quite pricey."

"Yes. Considering the dwarves hardly trade much these days. But I'm sure we can buy a thin coating…." Escalor sighed. "Would be just for show though. You'd really be better off with a decent leather-"

"Which part of an I want an armor, didn't you get?"

"Alright, alright," he held his hands up like he was calming a child down.

Yeah, I might or might not have been acting like one.
