Chapter 212 Dongxue Village Part 14

When the night wind blew across Yul's face, he was thinking about Xun's next step. He didn't understand why some of the gorillas followed Xun while others tried to fight the Taka. He slowly held his breath, showing no signs that would make Xun and the gorillas think he was weak. He scanned the area with all his might, looking for ways to move quickly and temporarily immobilize the gorilla. He tried to move his eyes quickly to avoid being caught by Xun and the gorillas for showing signs of letting down his guard. 

Yul continued to stare at Xun without speaking. As he listened to Xun laugh at him, he discovered that the gorilla was mostly sitting on tree branches. Yul tightened his hand on the hilt of the sword, and he began to feel the vibration of electric current pouring upward from the hilt into his palm. He thrust the sword into the ground, emitting different lights, shooting directly at the gorillas standing in front of him and the trees the gorillas were sitting on the branches waiting for Xun's order. Yul stands his ground and gives his friends and villagers more time to run. 

When Xun saw the lightning coming towards him and the rows of gorillas, he quickly did a few backflips to avoid being electrocuted by the lightning released by Yul. When Xun's feet landed away from the gorillas, his heart was beating hard. "No way." Xun whispered, staring at Yul who was standing a few feet away from him. Quickly flashing through Xun's mind, the scene of the Taka tribe's defeat was recorded on the cave wall. "The Immortal King." 

Yul looked at Xun and said, "I promise Master Budi that I will try my best to solve this problem in a peaceful way. If you can live in peace with the villagers of Dongxue Village, this will be the best solution for you and them. If you stop hunting villagers there is no reason to fight you, but if you want to kill innocent people." He pointed his lightening sword at Xun. "I'm not afraid to end your life." He gave Xun one last look, put the sword behind his back, turned and walked away. After Yul walked ten steps, he stopped, turned his head to the left, and looked back slightly. "If you try to hurt Hajime again, I will put you down." 

Xun was about to run towards Yul, but he wasn't sure if the ground ahead of him was safe enough to chase Yul. He looked around and found that the gorillas he had brought were all lying on the ground, grunting in pain and trying to stand up. With his followers now temporarily immobilized, all he could do was watch Yul leave Xun without a fight, filling Xun's heart with rage. Breathing heavily through his nostrils, he watched Yul quickly disappear into the woods. 

"Losers! Brainless losers!" Xun looked around and yelled angrily at his fallen followers. Xun gritted his teeth and held the wooden spear tightly. "Immortal or not, I will kill you. 

"If you want to defeat him, you're going to need my help," a man's voice whispered from behind the trees. 

The last words Yul heard from Xun were Xun's angry shouts. He kept running, afraid that if he stopped, he might not be able to catch up with the others. Although he knew that Hajime was safe for the time being, he still felt deeply worried in his heart. He felt his heart beating violently, and the worry in his heart seemed to become heavier with every breath. 

Yul continued to run forward, looking at the small glowing butterfly floating in front of him. He knew he was the last one behind, and as he ran past the butterflies, he started destroying the glowing butterflies. 

U-ri finally stopped running because he knew his heart couldn't handle the stress his body was putting on him. He gasped when he saw Abrafo and Michio also stopped a few yards away from him. 

"Why stop?" Abrafo asked. 

U-ri said breathlessly, "I can't run anymore. And..." He swallowed saliva to moisten his throat, and the child on his back continued to cry. "Also, I heard no more chase from the Taka and the gorillas." 

Abrafo and Michio turned and looked into the dark woods. "Let's not stop, let's walk. If Yul runs, he will catch up with us soon," Abrafo said. 

Michio said, "Who knows what else is chasing us." 

U-ri searched his medicine bag and found a piece of hard bread inside. He handed the piece of bread to Abrafo. "Break the bread and give it to the children to keep them from crying," U-ri said. 

Abrafo took the piece of dry bread, divided the hard bread into four small pieces, and handed it to the four young children on their backs. "Let's keep walking," Abrafo said. 

When Hajime and the nine pregnant caught up with other villagers, the villagers were resting inside and outside an old pavilion. 

Hajime asked the pregnant woman sitting behind him, "Why did they stop?" 

The woman replied, "After we pass that pavilion, the Taka will stop chasing us." 

Hajime asked, "So, are we in the new Dongxue Village?" 

The woman said, "We haven't arrived yet. Dongxue Village is on the other side of the mountain in front of us." 

Hajime asked, "Then, why doesn't the Taka refuse to chase the villagers?" 

The woman replied softly, "No one knows the real reason. According to the elders, they think it is because our village is a holy place, and the Taka people are a cursed tribe. They cannot enter the holy place blessed by the Immortal King and his soldiers." 

Hearing the women mention the Immortal King and his soldiers again, Hajime became curious, so Hajime asked, "Does anyone know if there is any record of this Immortal King and his soldiers?" 

The woman shook her head. "As far as I know, no," she said, paused, and when she saw the mountain in front of her, she finally realized that although there were no records, there were rumors that there were people in a cave somewhere on the mountain. "Um... I don't know the authenticity of this, but there are rumors that in a cave in the mountains, there are paintings of the Immortal King and his soldiers left by the cave people." 

Hajime asked, "How to get to that cave?" 

The woman said, "I don't know. There are hundreds of caves like this in the surrounding mountains, but no one has the courage to look for that particular one." 

A woman ridding the wolf said, "I heard that once, a woodcutter discovered this cave and marked the way to the cave. But when he returned to the village, he suddenly fell ill and died. This incident shocked the villagers, so no one dared to go look for the trail that was left by the woodcutter." She chuckled. "That's a rumor too."

Hajime saw the three monks and Wen and jumped off the black panther's back. He quickly walked towards them. He smiled and said, "Brother monks...Sir Wen, I'm glad that the four of you are safe." 

One of the monks asked, "Where are the others?" 

Hajime answered, "They are right behind us." 

Wen asked, "How many are behind?" 

"Just my four friends and some children," Hajime said. 

Wen said, "Let's walk to Dongxue Village and wait for them there. 

Hajime said, "You can take my animals and bring the villagers back to Dongxue Village." 

Wen asked, "What about you?" 

Hajime said, "I have to wait for my friends." He looked at Wen and the other three monks. "Don't worry about me. The villagers told me that the Taka will not attack anyone from beyond this point." 

Wen asked, "Are you sure? How about I leave a few people to accompany you?" 

Hajime shook his head. "That's not necessary," Hajime said, but then realized that there were still children and babies that needed to be returned to the village if Yul and the others arrived. "Well... why don't you let some villagers stay with me, and the brother monks can go back with you." 

Wen smiled and said, "I feel better if there are people with you." 

Hajime and the ten villagers watched Wen and others continue walking into the darkness. He turned to look at the ten people and said, "Let's sit in the pavilion and wait for the others." 

Xun's heart began to beat wildly, he didn't know who could be following him without him noticing. Xun quickly turned around, searching in the darkness, and found two figures standing behind a tree not far away. He begins to worry when it turns out that not one, but two people are chasing him without his knowledge. 

Although Xun was trembling in his heart, he still concealed his fear and gritted his teeth and said, "Leave that tree and come to me." Two figures stepped out from behind the tree and came to Xun. When they were still twenty yards away from Xun, Xun quickly pointed the spear at the two people. "It's far enough." With this distance, Xun could tell that the two figures were a man and a woman. "Why are you following us?" 

The man smiled and said, "We were just passing by." 

Xun said angrily, "That's nonsense. Not even a three-year-old child would believe this lie. Very few people know about our existence. If you don't have the intention of looking for us, you don't know how to track us. What do you want?" 

The man smiled and said, "That's not a lie. We just happened to meet you. I'm gathering talented people, and your ability caught our eyes." The man looked at Xun. "If you decide to join forces with us, I guarantee you that the land you will rule will be larger than this land on this mountain." He paused for a moment. "Oh, how rude of me. I forgot to introduce myself." He smiled at Xun; he held out his hand. "I'm Meng. What's your name?"
