Chapter Nine

I get up and leave the cafe. I start walking home, thinking about what happened earlier between me and John. Whatever it was, he was probably acting on impulse. I get to my apartment and hop in the shower right away. I take a short shower, grab a towel to wrap myself up in. I walk swiftly to the kitchen and feed Neeko then run to my room. I get dressed for bed then lie down. I try to get some sleep but can't. I get up put some appropriate clothing on to go for a run. I grab my phone and earbuds. I start with a slow jog. I have been jogging for a good 30 minutes. I slow my jogging into a stroll and enter Frosted Sweet Treats and order a vanilla milkshake. A minute later Noah Carson comes in, looking like he just came from a run also. I head out after getting my milkshake and start walking home. I get home around 11:45. I take a seat at my kitchen counter to drink my shake. I grab my phone and see a text from Hayden. "I won't be at work tomorrow, I asked boss for the day off. Just letting you know." I walk into my room and drop myself onto my bed. I change back to my pj's and drift of to sleep. The next morning I get ready for the day. I have an hour and a half before my shift starts at 8:30. I go for a short run so I don't wear myself out to much. The sky is very cloudy, the sun is hiding behind clouds. There is a small chilly breeze. I walk in the direction of the cafe. I get there a few minutes later and walk in swiftly towards the back, and clock in. I walk to a cashier to meet a beautiful young woman. She has long silky, black hair. She is wearing a classic bright red trench coat with black heels. She must be some sort of business woman, with a good sense of fashion. She orders an espresso to go and leaves as soon as she receives her coffee in a nice black Mercedes convertible. I walk to a booth towards the back window, where a group of friends from the high school opposite direction of mine are sitting. After receiving their orders I turn around so quickly I bump into another person who had just walked through the doors. Thinking frantically I apologize without looking up I dismiss myself and rush to the counter to start on the drinks. The costumer I ran into walks up to the counter and waits there for a minute before I realize he is standing there. I noticed him after I finished making the coffees. I look up to meet his eyes and notice he isn't just a regular costumer, It's John.
