The Book of Qi Manipulation

In one of the poorer districts of the Cloud Wind City, inside a house made of wood and bricks, Bai Luo is busily reading the book that his good friend Zhou Lin gave to him. It is the middle of the night, and he was just done with his work so he has the time to look into it.

His eyes are looking at it in a daze, and there is a strange and mysterious glint in his irises as he reads the contents of the book. Within his mind, he felt like he was actually being shown how to do it personally. As if he was watching a projection a step-by-step basis for manipulating Qi live.

The first page alone is very insightful, and when he turns his eyes on the second page, he can't help but feel ecstatic. Each sentence gives a profound knowledge within him, which makes his spirit pulse with wonder. It felt like being enlightened by the truth itself.

"This is..."

Regardless of how he can't sense Qi, he can somehow feel like something warm is being absorbed on his body. His whole instinct is subconsciously doing what he is reading. Making him control Qi even without the sense for it.

And then...

BAM!

"Ssssssssup!"

He closes the book and take a deep breathe as he felt sweat covering his mind. He felt it. The feeling of warm profound energies flowing through his veins. They are entering the pores of his body and flowing through his sea of power.

"Profound energies of Heaven and Earth!" He exclaims with his eyes brightening up.

He is actually controlling Qi within his body. Though it is being greatly wasted, he can't sense it that much as he haven't read the full contents of the book.

Still, he has already left the realm of mortality, and has taken his first step through immortality. He has become a Cultivator!

"Amazing!" He felt like his future becomes bright. Infinite possibilities are opening up to him.

He decided to continue reading more, while within his mind he is very grateful for his good friend Zhou Lin.

A few days has passed once more, and Zhou Lin has been busily taking care of his business.

He didn't upgrade any objects for now, and is just using most of his points to strengthen himself. He still felt very weak, mostly when he recalls the terrifying Demon Beasts he encounters on the deeper parts of the Green Abyss Forest.

Despite already being at the Mountain Realm, it seems like there are still a lot of hidden dragons lurking within that forest. If he can't even overwhelm every creatures on the nearby forest, how can he be sure that he is the strongest on the whole continent?

So he will try and become stronger until he got to that point.

"Still, having this system is really a boon. I can't help but feel so blessed having my golden spoon!" He muttered to himself with a bright expression.

He is just becoming stronger even if he didn't do anything. It's very convenient for him. He has no need to endanger himself just to find those so called opportunities.

He turned his head on the door when he heard someone entering it. He saw it was Old Wang and the others.

"Old Wang! What can I--"

"Is it true!? Did you really make this book?"

He blinks his eyes in surprised when he was interrupted by the old man. Seeing the book he is showing to him, he immediately recognizes it.

"Oh, it's the one I gave Brother Bai. What about it?"

"Amazing... this is such a precious book! Your really just giving this up?" Old Wang asked, looking as if he can't believe it.

"Of course. He is my friend after all." He said before continuing. "Though if you know about it, that means Brother Bai show it to you?"

".... Ahem, sorry. I got incredibly curious. Luo is showing it to his friends, and I heard it from them. I thought he is just lying when he said you wrote it yourself." Old Wang said, looking somewhat embarrassed.

"Of course... if you want, you can borrow it from him. I'm still writing the other volumes so he can comprehend the way of manipulating Qi."

Old Wang widened his eyes at that. "How generous. Your really giving us too much!"

"Don't worry about it. I'm just paying back all the help you gave me." He waves his hand dismissively before continuing. "So are you here to eat something?"

"Oh.... you just opened up. There are still no customers huh..."

"Well, it's still too early." He said. "Anyway, come on and take a sit. You too. There is no need to stay standing there." He called out to the others.

Bai Luo is one of the people among them. He walks closer to Zhou Lin after Old Wang is done talking to him. Then he cupped his hands and bowed his head in a soft tilt, showing his full respect to him.

"This Bai Luo is forever grateful for this opportunity you gave me. From now on, I will always call you as my great Senior Brother. If you have any problems, just call me and I will help you!" He said politely but with a tinge of pride in it.

Now that he looks at Bai Luo carefully, he can see that his face drastically changes along with his body proportion. He was a bit fatty with his arm being the only one that are muscular. Now his body balanced out, and his muscles are not that exaggerated anymore. His skin that has darkened due to working in the middle of the sun has whitened out, showing that impurities were taken away from him.

This is the first time he saw the effects of cultivating. He can't see it on himself as he just instantly become stronger.

'So just by learning to control Qi, you can actually start cultivating huh...' He is sure it's not that simple, but it is the first step to take off the impurities of the body and become immortal.

He taps the shoulder of Bai Luo. "Okay, then I will be relying on you then." He will gratefully accept that path. It would be rude if he rejected it. "Okay, go to your seats and state your order. I will be giving 20% more content to your meals."

The other cheered up at that.
