The changes
4 months had passed,
The situation in the town was not very good, the population that once soared was now only in a couple thousand.
It was not the fault of the people leaving the town, but the capital. The increase in taxes was like a death penalty for the people at the bottom. They had no choice but to leave, and while some average businessmen shifted to other towns, their profits were getting minimal due to the taxes.
All this because the capital couldn't destroy the town they wanted to and it felt like they took it personally. Yet, no one could question them, it was a dictatorship in a world where magic now exists! Who would be dumb enough to question someone powerful enough to destroy towns like Wellspring on a whim?
The other towns nearby accommodated the people till they had space, some had to return as there was no place near their birth they could go to.
