Four years had passed since I left home, and today was the day I bid farewell to Faceless. There were no hard feelings; it was just time for me to take the next step in my journey to become the caped crusader. According to Alfred's plan, I was almost ready, but I knew I still had a lot to learn and improve upon.
As I turned 20, my game plan was set. I would head to Astro City, the biggest city on our continent. There, I would pursue two goals: starting a business and showing this world the first glimpse of Batman. Astro City was the perfect base for me as it was plagued by criminals and supervillains, even with a large number of superheroes present. The guilds monopolized resources, leaving the city's safety in jeopardy. I saw an opportunity to help the people and further hone my skills.
My work with Faceless became increasingly thrilling after the first year. Ryan allowed me to go into combat, and I gradually became an all-rounder, showcasing my abilities in various missions. Over the past six months, I trained my replacements, passing on the tips and knowledge I gained from Alfred. These adventures also brought death around me, and it was something I struggled to cope with. Alfred reminded me that this was the path I had chosen, but I was determined to do everything in my power to prevent unnecessary deaths.
My Faceless teammates had become a second family to me, though they were unaware of my true identity. They knew me only as Bruce Wayne, and they had no qualms about it. I planned to stay in touch with them and hoped to work together again in the future. In combat, I had become one of the leaders, bringing new skills to this world due to my training with Alfred. As for Dax, we had stopped sparring long ago, and friendly banter had become a norm between us.
At 19, I had transformed physically, standing tall at 6'4" and 180 pounds with 8% body fat. My relentless training had made my body pliable and flexible. Traveling had given me a wheatish complexion that complemented my brown hair and eyes. The ladies in Faceless referred to me as ruggedly handsome, but romance was the least of my concerns right now. There were far more important matters to attend to.
In just a week, I would leave Faceless behind and head to Astro City. I planned to join a small guild as a lower-level member to understand the inner workings of guilds and witness the city's struggles firsthand. My new alias, 'Tim Drake,' would mark a fresh start as I continued my journey towards becoming Batman.
Hi Guys, as you can see now that there are more dialogues in this chapter and I plan to continue like this. Up until now I just thought of giving explanations as a quick way to send the message across but from this chapter I will put in the extra effort. Thank you for picking this novel.
