Taylor beamed, clearly moved by the support and praise. He turned to Sandro and Kofi, gratitude shining in his eyes. "Thank you, both of you. I couldn't have done this match so easily without your guidance." Sandro grinned, pulling him into a hug. "You've got it in you, Taylor. We're just here to bring it out."
After his match was done, Sandro was in the backstage area watching the next match through the monitor while Kofi and Taylor headed into the catering area to grab some food and fill their stomach.
As Sandro stood in front of the monitor, he watched intently as the next tag team match began. The crowd's energy was at a fever pitch, roaring in anticipation as the announcer introduced the competitors.
On one side, Tyler Black and Jon Moxley stood confidently in their corner, their eyes locked onto their opponents, DH Smith and Billy Kidman. The two teams brought a unique blend of athleticism, raw intensity, resilience, and strength as each man was known for their own in-ring styles.
The bell rang, and Moxley charged at DH Smith, opening with a flurry of hard-hitting punches. DH responded with a few shots of his own, meeting Moxley's aggression with his own strength.
The two locked up, Moxley transitioning quickly into a headlock, wrenching DH's neck before slamming him down with a hard shoulder tackle. DH rolled, got back up, and countered with a swift snap suplex, sending Moxley sprawling to the mat.
Tyler leaned over the ropes, extending his hand, and Moxley tagged him in, bringing fresh energy into the ring. Tyler dashed forward, catching DH with a running forearm strike. DH staggered back, but he didn't go down.
Tyler followed up with a spinning kick, landing right on DH's jaw and bringing him to one knee. Seizing the moment, Tyler ran to the ropes, springboarding off for a crossbody, but DH caught him mid-air and powered him down with a spine-shaking scoop slam.
The crowd erupted in boos as DH tagged in Billy Kidman. Kidman leaped over the ropes and charged at Tyler, catching him with a sharp dropkick that sent him tumbling into the corner. Kidman followed up with a series of chops, each one echoing through the arena, drawing "Woo!" chants from the audience.
Kidman then grabbed Tyler's arm, whipping him into the opposite corner. Kidman ran after him, aiming for a running elbow, but Tyler dodged just in time, leaving Kidman to crash into the turnbuckle.
Tyler seized the opportunity to tag Moxley back in. Moxley climbed the ropes, leaping down with a double axe handle, and immediately followed up with a series of quick stomps on Kidman. Pulling Kidman to his feet, Moxley executed a brutal snap suplex, rolling right into a headlock, keeping control of the match.
Kidman struggled, but the crowd's support seemed to give him an extra boost. Slowly, he managed to rise to his feet, elbowing Moxley in the stomach until he broke free.
Kidman dashed to his corner and tagged in DH Smith, who burst back into the ring with powerful running clotheslines, taking down both Moxley and Tyler as Tyler attempted to intervene. DH then grabbed Moxley, lifted him high, and delivered a thunderous vertical suplex, holding him in the air for an extra moment to showcase his strength before dropping him onto the mat.
Moxley rolled to the side, gasping for air, and crawled toward Tyler, managing to reach him just in time. Tyler jumped back into the ring, but DH was ready, catching him with a belly-to-belly suplex that sent him sprawling across the mat.
DH then signaled to Kidman, who nodded, and the two set up for a double-team move. As Tyler staggered to his feet, DH whipped him toward Kidman, who met him with a spinning heel kick, landing it with perfect precision.
Tyler, showing resilience, staggered back to his feet, blocking another kick from Kidman and retaliating with a jawbreaker that momentarily stunned him. DH rushed forward, but Tyler was ready, countering with an enzuigiri that hit DH right in the side of the head, sending him stumbling to his knees.
Tyler then made his way to the top rope, perching on the corner as the crowd roared. He flew off with a moonsault, aiming for Kidman, but Kidman rolled out of the way just in time, leaving Tyler to crash into the canvas.
As Tyler writhed in pain, Kidman took advantage, locking him in a half-Boston crab, pulling back with intensity as Tyler struggled to reach the ropes. Moxley jumped in, breaking the hold with a swift kick to Kidman's back, allowing Tyler a brief reprieve.
DH came charging at Moxley, the two of them exchanging fierce punches, each blow intensifying the crowd's energy. DH powered through, grabbing Moxley and throwing him out of the ring, leaving Tyler alone with Kidman.
Kidman sensed the momentum and climbed to the top rope, his sights set on Tyler, who was slowly rising to his feet. Kidman jumped off with a flying crossbody, but Tyler, with a last burst of energy, caught him mid-air, twisting him into a powerslam that shook the ring.
Both wrestlers lay on the mat, the crowd on its feet as the referee began to count. Moxley climbed back onto the apron, shouting at Tyler to make the tag. Across the ring, DH was urging Kidman to reach for him as well. The crowd's chants grew louder, and just as the referee reached an eight-count, both Tyler and Kidman lunged forward, tagging in their partners.
Moxley and DH Smith collided in the center of the ring, each landing heavy punches and trading knee strikes. Moxley ducked under one of DH's clotheslines, springboarding off the ropes and connecting with a lariat that knocked DH to the ground. He then lifted DH for a suplex, but DH powered out, landing on his feet and countering with a big boot.
Just as DH tried to finish Moxley off, Tyler, who'd recovered by now, slid back into the ring and blindsided DH with a running knee to the back. Kidman joined the fray, throwing Tyler over the top rope before focusing on Moxley.
With the crowd at a fever pitch, Kidman and DH set up for a double-team move that could finish the mat. DH hoisted Moxley onto his shoulders while Kidman climbed the ropes, aiming for a diving bulldog to complete the combination.
But Moxley, sensing the danger, managed to wriggle free, elbowing DH in the head and rolling out of his grasp just as Kidman launched himself from the top rope. Kidman ended up colliding with DH instead, and the two stumbled, giving Moxley the chance to capitalize. He rushed forward, catching Kidman with a vicious DDT, slamming him to the mat.
As Kidman lay stunned, Moxley tagged in Tyler, who ascended the top rope, poised to deliver the final blow. With the crowd chanting his name, Tyler leaped off with a high-flying Phoenix Splash, landing squarely on Kidman for the pin. The referee dropped to the mat, counting to three as the arena erupted in cheers.
The bell rang, and Moxley and Tyler stood victorious in the ring, raising their arms to the applause of the crowd. The two exchanged nods of respect with Kidman and DH Smith, acknowledging the intense battle they'd just fought. Backstage, Sandro watched with admiration, impressed by the high-caliber action displayed by both teams.
Sandro watched the conclusion of the tag team match, feeling a rush of pride. Tyler and Moxley, the team he had initially recommended to Dusty and Steve, had just showcased their skill and undeniable chemistry in a hard-fought victory. As Sandro turned from the monitor, Dusty and Steve approached, both nodding with approving grins.
"Gotta hand it to you, Sandro," Dusty said, giving him a friendly nudge on the shoulder. "That recommendation you made for Tyler and Moxley was spot-on. You saw their potential before we did, and tonight, they proved it."
Steve nodded in agreement. "You're right. They're not only strong individual competitors, but they bring something fresh to the tag division as a unit. It's like they're both wild cards—chaotic, but somehow it all works."
Sandro laughed, watching as Tyler and Moxley celebrated on the monitor. "It's funny, right? They're polar opposites, but together, they're electric. I think they're going to be a force in the tag division for a long time. Honestly, it's better to keep them focused there than risk losing momentum by feeding them to Joe," he added, referencing the dominant FCW Champion, Joe. "With Joe set up to be a powerhouse, they'd gain more by building their tag team credibility than by challenging him too early."
Dusty and Steve exchanged glances, both nodding thoughtfully. "Makes sense," Steve agreed. "We've got big plans for Joe, but Tyler and Moxley… they've got the kind of dynamic that could make them tag champions, don't you think?"
Dusty nodded. "And the way they performed tonight, they're showing every sign of being worthy contenders. Which brings me to something else, Sandro—how do you feel about them as potential successors to you and Kofi as the tag champs?"
The question caught Sandro slightly off guard. Though he was confident in Tyler and Moxley, the idea of them eventually dethroning Dragon Boom was something he hadn't yet considered. He grinned, gathering his thoughts. "They're definitely a solid choice. I think they have what it takes to carry the tag division and evolve it, but I'd suggest holding off until we wrap up this faction storyline with Taylor. We've just begun to establish our partnership with him, and having the belts strengthens our credibility."
Dusty chuckled. "True, true. And having you and Kofi as champions gives Taylor that added boost as he gets into his stride."
Steve then shifted the topic to another pressing matter. "On the note of champions… what are your thoughts on the FCW Divas title? We've had April on a pretty long run now, and we're at the point where we need to decide if it's time to put the belt on someone else."
Sandro paused. April, his girlfriend, was the current FCW Divas Champion and had held the title for a while now. His immediate instinct was to keep her on top—he knew how hard she'd worked to get to this point. But he also understood the broader picture: switching champions could invigorate the division, and April could benefit from a break or a fresh storyline.
Inwardly, he weighed his feelings. He wanted April to have a strong, historic reign, but he couldn't ignore the potential for growth within the division if they gave the title to someone else.
"Honestly, it's a tricky one," Sandro admitted. "April's done an amazing job, and her reign has added prestige to the title. That said, rotating champions could open up opportunities for the other women, showcase different styles, and potentially elevate someone new."
Dusty nodded, seeing Sandro's internal struggle. "And with a break, April could come back even stronger or take on different storylines. That way, we're keeping the division fresh while still having her in top form when she returns."
"Exactly," Sandro agreed. "If we do decide to go that route, it has to be someone who can carry the division. Not only to keep April's reign memorable, but to prove that the title is bigger than any one person."
Steve smiled, clearly satisfied with the direction of their conversation. "Good insights, Sandro. We'll talk it over more and see how we want to move forward. The important thing is to keep the stories engaging and the division dynamic."
Sandro nodded, feeling a sense of relief that they understood the delicate balance at play. They all wanted to elevate FCW, its champions, and every wrestler striving for a chance to shine.
As they walked away, Sandro couldn't help but think of the conversations and decisions that lay ahead. Balancing loyalty, storylines, and opportunities was never easy, but tonight's victories—and his role in helping guide them—reminded him why he loved being part of this journey.
In the days that followed, Sandro found himself in frequent discussions with Dusty, Steve, and the rest of the creative team, further developing the faction storyline with Taylor and considering all the possibilities for the Divas division. He and April had talked about it as well, with April confessing that, while she loved being champion, she'd be open to stepping aside for someone else if it helped elevate the division.
"Besides," she'd teased, "it's not like I wouldn't come back for it eventually." With each conversation, Sandro felt a deeper appreciation for the stories they were building, the chances they were giving to rising stars like Taylor, Tyler, and Moxley, and the impact of every match, every promo, and every championship run.
