Feng Huang

As time passed, Liss, who spent almost a month in a new world, felt that life here was easy but restricted. The explanation was that as Liss was introduced to the other females, a hurdle of males were looking for her wishing to woo the female in hopes of becoming her mate.

The trio gradually became overprotective and wouldn't leave the alien alone.

'Living together brought us closer but there was no harmony.'

Coexisting with a female for the first time arose the orc's territorial instincts as their affection grew. 

If Liss was with one of them, the other two would try to distract the female. If she was alone, they would get closer. If Liss took initiative and showed kindness to one, the same act had to be repeated with the other two.

'If I was just a little dumb I wouldn't notice the tug war, but I can't close my eyes and pretend I'm not seeing.'

Liss's upbringing made her a patient person, but not a pushover. The restrictive routine was building up inside her.

At nighttime, Liss had an impulsive thought of sneaking out to have some time alone. Her period was coming, and she knew that their kind called it estrus. When the females have their estrus they choose a mate to try to get pregnant. 

To her, after a month of dealing with those sulking beast, when Liss's period come, they will go Bersek and openly demand to be her mate.

Silently she tried to open the door, but immediately Ishid noticed, raising his head.

"I'm going to have some fresh air... I want to be alone."

Liss said with a sad tone trying to look pitiful. She knew that Ishid was more understanding than the others and would normally do what she asked.

When Ishid heard her request he transformed back to his male.

Seeing Ishid naked used to embarrass the girl but after seeing it for a month she got used to it. Even so, she would still feel her body reacting to the view.

"Are you going to stay in front of the house?"

"...yes"

Letting out a sigh Ishid transformed back to his beast form, hinting Liss to go.

'I'm sorry, but I'm going a little further.'

The night was illuminated by the bright moon, even without animal night vision Liss could see clearly what was in front of her.

That was her first walk alone in days. If she stayed like that longer she would probably run away on an impulse. 

Now she could think with a clear mind and decide what to do.

Nearing the lake, Liss wanted to sit on the rock she used to set her clothes just to see a figure sitting there.

"Hello"

Liss greeted the person trying to catch their attention. The person turned their head calmly facing Liss.

"Hello"

Walking closer Liss could see... a god incarnate, with really long silver hair, glowing green eyes with a red line underneath them.

His thick eyebrows were a shade or two darker adding an intense gaze to his elegant demeanour. 

"So you were here."

Liss was under a spell hearing his voice that sounded like water.

"What do you mean... sir?"

"Feng Huang"

"My name is Liss"

"The villagers were looking for you, Liss. They thought that you were kidnapped."

'His name is Eastern but up until now, everyone had Western names.'

Liss wasn't feeling any hostility sitting on the edge of the rock she took out her shoes and soaked her feet in the cold water.

"I lived here this whole time."

After a moment of silence

"Which one of them is your mate?"

"None of them."

Feng Huang searched Liss's face trying to see if she was telling the truth, after their staring contest, Feng Huang fell into a hearty laughter.

'Should I get embarrassed in this situation? He is simply so heavenly that even mocking me seems like a blessing.'

"Oh well, looking at you, that hatchling did a decent job. I wouldn't believe it if someone told me that they were babysitting a female."

"Levi is your hatchling?"

"No, but I trained him instead of his father."

"Levi is really strong. Thank you for helping my friend."

Feng Huang wasn't sure when he came to his disciple territory looking for the special female that caused a ruckus in the beast city, but as soon as he saw the changes in the surroundings his suspicions became suppositions.

After his blatant interrogation, like old friends, they talked about everyday life and their likes and dislikes.

"Everything here is new to me, but I'm not afraid anymore... I wish I could go and see the city or even just walk further from home."

"Why you can't?"

"Well, they said that if I go, the males will jump on me and kidnap me."

"That won't happen, the tiger king even asked for my help to rescue you when everyone thought that you were kidnapped."

"But I was here the whole time."

Liss had her suspicions, apparently, the trio kept her whereabouts hidden even from the higher-ups.

"I can take you with me."

"Won't it be a problem?"

When Liss ended her sentence a hustling noise came from behind behind.

"SUN!"

Ishid was in an attack stance with a deep frown near them. Still stunned by what he heard, Ishid stomped in Liss's direction yanking her arm, pulling her in his direction.

"Feng Huang, what are you doing?"

"I was looking for her."

"For what? Why?"

Liss had never seen Ishid so mad, he even looked anxious. As Feng Huang's arms were covered with his clothes, Liss had no way of knowing his level to make Ishid this wary.

"That I don't have to tell you. Now, release the little female. How could you treat her like this? It is a miracle that her arm is still attached."

"Sun didn't say anything. She is coming back with me."

Feng Huang had a curious look, he raised his hand trying to touch Liss's face but was interrupted by Ishid who jumped back with the female.

"I thought you said your name was Liss?"

'This situation is tiring, Ishid is agitated, Feng Huang is aggravating, and even if I say something they will keep bickering.'

"Yes, my name is Liss...

Ishid, shouldn't we invite him home?"

"Why, do you like him?"

Liss reckoned that everything in that world was black and white. if females were treasured why not listen to what she says and done. World peace.

"Ishid, he is a good beast that helped Levi cultivate his strength. We have to treat him respectfully.

Feng Huang, would you like to come with us?"

And then there was silence. Feng Huang had a playful smile in contrast to Ishid who was trembling, grinding his teeth.

Liss whispered "Why are you so angry?" but Ishid didn't reply.

"I will come back tomorrow at dawn, little female."

"OK, see you tomorrow, Feng Huang."

Liss watched as Feng Huang turned around and left walking in his humanoid form.

'What a bummer, I wanted to know what beast he was.'
