"What the actual fuck Cairo, what's going on" Skye stepped in her path not letting her pass.

"Chris is not seeing anyone I'm sure about that, I just need to go see him" she said.

"Then what's the problem" when Travis ghosted her she was in love with him not because he was popular or the school sweetheart it was genuine but he made her regret every action she took, her best friend did the matchmaking, she accepted it and move on with Cairo is like her whole life depends on it and Chris is not even trying.

"I do not know, Skye get out of my way"

"We can go to the dance together, before he told you this is already decided I'm not letting you go and make a fool out of yourself" Cairo eyes were glaring at her skye she dabs her eyes holding the tears back, she so angry at Chris.

Seems like Skye was right her words struck Cairo that she sloshy sat back on the chair nearby, the rest people in the room minded their business like nothing is happening.

"Listen we are in this together don't give him the upper hand, you're a queen and you have everything and deserves everything, if he cares he will show up trust me...it wasn't written a girl has to go to the dance with a boy" Cairo take her time till the tears dried up she was ready to complete her glam, her heart still beats heavily thinking about Chris not showing up.

Skye texted Travis Hi it delivers but he did not respond, this is not one of her text about whining about their relationship she is no longer pestering him about loving her, she only want to talk. She hates seeing her best friend suffers perhaps if he's with his brother Chris he can update her what is the problem.

Two hours later he didn't text back just as she anticipated and it makes Skye so upset that she want to murder him. She saved the day thankfully Cairo did her fully dressed up and ready to go. They snapped a few picture before getting into the Mercedes van waiting outside.

Cairo didn't expect to get this sad on this day not an unexpected breakup but not too early on their first dance together, they prepared waiting for this day only for Chris to call it off for no reason, if he isn't at the dance she will understand perhaps clear the air on what she has been hiding, is goodnews among hundred of thousand she is among the hundred lucky once's to study in China.

Skye encouraged Cairo to just act like everything is okay at least that is what everyone does in life, after the dance Chris will come around then they can settle the issues plus she still have prom if is about the dance.
