Souls and Hell

Third Person PoV

Cain immediately after reaching his castle asked for Vanessa and ordered her to quickly send Nyx, Ereshkigal and Morgan to his study.

While they were coming he mentally thought of the advantages he will gain after controlling so many souls.

As most of the souls are classified as evil, due to angels being really pure beings, they didn't take anything less than a hundred percent pure person's soul.

Thus most of the souls were being recycled too quickly and the excess energy was not being utilised effectively.

The soul grows in power as it becomes older. So while reincarnation, the energy required for a baby souls is recycled while the excess is used for the pantheon.

But heaven wasn't capable of this without Yahweh. Hence, Cain will be taking full benefit of this. Hell will now have a tremendous growth rate, due to having so much pure energy.

The world tree will also grow faster, as will the spirit of Hell, bound to the world tree and his Scythe.

Not to mention that Cain and the goddess residing in Hell will get a major power boost. Ereshkigal's divinity will get a boost. As the dimension grows stronger, Nyx, who controls the majority of it, will also get stronger.

And Cain who is the main party, aka the owner of Hell will also receive some major boosts in his strength. This will also help raise the level of Hell to the old pantheons in due time.

Just then the resident goddesses and Morgan came inside his study, the three having curious looks on their faces.

"I made a deal with the angels to allow us to control the cycle of the evil souls."

"So that just means Hell now is a storage place for almost all the biblical pantheons' followers souls."

"Not all, Nyx I would say about ninety percent." Ereshkigal said

"Shouldn't the number of good souls and evil souls be around the same, like 40-69 or so?"

Being out of such matters for long Morgan questioned.

"Well yes, that is the case in most Pantheons, but the BigG was a right piece of work, perfectionist. So his definition of pure is very tough to fulfil."

Cain answered, his answer was also backed up by Nyx.

"Indeed. Yahweh was a weird case even for us Greek gods. And we have Zeus as our God King. For him pureness meant, No sex, no drinking, no cursing and stuff. Like there is a book about that somewhere."

"I have a copy of it." Cain gave his valuable opinion.

Morgan by then was gaping like a fish and Ereshkigal was not doing the same as she knew that Yahweh was not really a fair God, even though he is portrayed as a good God.

Now that Cain had briefed the ones mainly responsible for the soul management. He finally calmed down from his little excited state.

Ereshkigal had already created the required place for this. Nyx was familiar with this and faeries knew how to handle the world tree the best, maybe after Ratatoskr.

The satans were already informed about this. In Fact many of the devil pillars were technically informed of this.

Zeaira had distributed a book containing all the future plans for Hell's development. But devils being the arrogant race ignored it, only keeping it on them, not reading it.

Thus only a few people were informed of this. And that included the satans and of course the Lucifer clan's members.

Cain knew that some of the pillars must have known this too, but they were smart to not spread it or reveal to anyone.

After all Zekram, Agares and few of the devil pillars were smart enough to discover some of Cain's plan even without being informed of it.

Currently Cain alongwith Nyx and Ereshkigal was in the pocket space made for the souls.

Currently it was barren. The place itself was more Hell looking like then the actual Hell. It's name was Soulscape.

Red skies with gargoyles flying and screeching. Lava flowing across the entirety of the space.

Rivers full of purple water. And most importantly the cages that were placed randomly. Someone in air, hanging by the legs of the massive gargoyles.

In the river or in the pit of lava. There were huge mountains in the horizon, continuously spewing lava or deadly poison, strong enough to even affect ultimate class beings and trouble Satan class beings if they stayed long enough inside it.

Cain was visibly impressed with this. He had left this space entirely to the two Goddesses and it was a good decision. This place was now a mixture of the underworld of the Greek pantheon and Kur.

The cages will be used for storing the extra souls. The river is for punishing the lighter sins. While the lava pits are for middle level crime. The mountains were for very horrible sins, while gargoyles were used as transportation.

Cain asked Ereshkigal

"What are the punishments?"

At that question Nyx was happy while Ereshkigal was shuddering.

'What did Nyx do to make the goddess of the underworld shiver?'

"Well the cages on rivers are nothing, the souls inside just have their desires amplified and then they are prevented from getting what they want by being trapped in a cage, a never ending illusion sort of. It stops after a certain amount of time, decided by the intensity of the sin."

"Pretty basic but still effective."

"The lava pit ones are also an illusion but almost hyper realistic. All the form of torture known to humans and all of the supernatural are used on the ones in the lava. From water torture to the goat torture. Even the gods methods are used. They are repeated till the person accepts their sins and reforms themselves. Also the torturer is either their most hated person or their most loved one.

The magma is the connection between the illusion and the mind, as long they touch it they will continue to suffer. The more pure they become, the lighter their soul becomes. Eventually coming to the surface and ready to be reincarnated. "

"Kinda fucked up. But it's still pretty good. Now what is in the mountains. If mid level is this then that must be something really devious right?"

"Yes it is. I told her to tone it down a little. In fact the lava pit one was supposed to be the final level, but Nyx interfered and asked if she could design the last level. I think her Greek side was involved too much."

Now even Cain was intrigued. What could be such that even Ereshkigal was saying that it was too much.

As if looking proud of her work, Nyx started to explain.

"Like the last two, this one is also an illusion but more real. In fact it is based on my minor divinity of dreams. So they are lucid dreams too."

Looking at the smile of Nyx, even Cain was concerned to whoever got yo experience that stuff. Some of the lucid dreams can be terrifying. And if Greek God was making a lucid dream. Even Satan will ask them to tone it down.

"So they can only be freed when they are free of any and all negative emotion before that they cannot."

"Isn't that impossible? If you torture them, they will hate the torturer or fear him. So they will never get out?"

"Indeed, hence people may be inside even for centuries."

"That is horrible." Ereshkigal gave her input.

"And the premise is very good. Cannibalism, rape, betrayal, slaughter, beasts eating them, making them mothers then getting them pregnant and ripping out their unborn children, duecyky from thei stomachs. These are just the starting. Many more horrible things like skewering them through their mouth and anus, then putting them on a hill for beasts and birds to tear into them. The list is long and this goes on for as long as they become emotionless or begin to enjoy this and not hate it-"

"Alright that is enough!"

Cain was a bit scared at how the Greek worked. But he didnt object as some people in the world were really lowest of the low.

But still he wouldn't condemn them to 'that' for centuries. Maybe he will secrelty ask Morgan to not throw many souls inside it.

But Cain had a hunch that the number of souls in the mountain will only go on to increase as the time passes and humanity progresses.

The three were patiently waiting for the influx of souls. Morgan was standing near the world tree. As the souls would pass through it when coming inside and then again when going out.

First time was to keep track of the total number, the second was to purify them and take away the excess energy. And Morgan meeded to work on that for the first time only.

After the first soul completed one cycle The process would be completely automatic, only requiring some management.

That too will not be needed when the spirit of the world tree will finally reach maturity as it will handle everything on its own.

Soon a singular soul came from a crack that Cain had made prior above the world tree.

The one soul was wandering about after dying, not knowing anything as heaven has shut it's evil soul recycling down.

He came near the tree seeing that it was radiating energy. But just as he reached near it he was caught and thrusted inside its canopy.

It tried to scream but his pleas were unheard. Morgan watched over the process and used her fae Magic to guide The soul from this space to the Soulscape.

Josh Carter was a petty thief. Living his life by scamming people and stealing wallets.

He tried not to but a man needs to do what he needs to for filling his stomach. After the first time, his adrenaline surge became addictive and he was constantly stealing even when he didn't need to.

Little by little plans became grander and he planned to rob a big man in his village. The heist was successful and he was a rich man, although only for short time as when escaping the guards he fell into a river and was torn to shreds by the crocodiles.

He became a soul and wandered to a garden with a huge tree and a beautiful woman standing near it.

'Ah! An angel.'

But before he could understand, he was sucked into the canopy of the tree. And his scenery changed from pleasant to hellish in an instant.

And he found himself inside a cage looked on by three beings. Two beautiful, drop dead gorgeous beauties. One with black hair and one with blonde.

And a man so sinfully beautiful that he was questioning his sexuality, with silver hair.

"Is it not working?"

The man questioned, Josh tried to speak but was unable to. But the man understood.

"Oh you are in Hell! I am Lucifer and by the way please give a review after your punishment."

'What Hell? No!! He didn't break the law that much. My sins are not bad!!'

But his soul was getting tired as if being forced into slumber and he was suddenly in front of a pile of gold but he couldn't move himself and he was still inside the cage.

'Nooo! Release me!!' But his voice was again unheard.

Ereshkigal explained that she hadn't started the system yet. And then brought out her cage and activated it, covering it in blue fire.

The man's soul went poof and landed on the bottom of the cage, which slowly sunk down but not by much, it was still visible.

"He didn't sin much in his life I guess?"

Cain commented seeing that and said

"Make a review system."

"What?" Ereshkigal said confused

Nyx only giggled as the ridiculous ideas of Cain made themselves known to Ereshkigal.

"Exactly what I said, make a review system so that before reincarnation the souls can write a feedback. It will be fun to read them, no? Also take their names along with the review. As such the sinners will never truly die, only remembered by the devils."

"Sure!" Ereshkigal said giving up any knowledge of common sense she had.

Soon the man's soul rose up to the land level and the soul started floating again.

"He repents that fast. Must be a really good guy under his sins."

The cage was then carried by a gargoyle and was put down in front of a huge gate, housing another crack in space leading to behind the world tree.

And now besides it was a little book on a pedestal. Josh saw that moved towards the gate but was stopped by Cain.

"Please write a review."

Seeing that Josh was scared but Cain said

"Please write your honest thoughts, I wouldn't mind if you cursed me either."

And hence the first sinner of Hell wrote

With that Josh Carter passed through Hell was reborn as a baby, let's hope he does better this time.

And with that the system of souls was online in Hell. The souls gushed in the world tree and the cages were filled at astronomical speed in Hell.

Thus the system in the future will be known famously as Helldive. Termed by the governor of Grigori, Azazel.
