Devil and Angel

Third Person PoV

Cain was sitting in his study looking at some documents, when suddenly the barrier he had placed in the abandoned church was bypassed.

'So an archangel finally came.'

Vanessa was also in the study helping him with the work. Usually Grayfia helped him but today, Grayfia was with Rayla in the human world.

"Vanessa, I will be going out for an important meeting. Inform anyone if they ask about me."

"As you ask. My Lord."

With that Cain teleported near the church. And he was very surprised to find that instead of one or two, all the four archangels were present.

'This certainly is a surprise.'

Cain was not expecting this but was happy regardless. He can deal with all the archangels right now.

If only one or two came, they can make the excuse of talking with others and avoid him, but now they need to give him an answer.

Cain nonchalantly walked through the front entrance and said. His hands behind his back, his eyes slightly closing

"Well, well what do we have here?"

The four of them turned towards the source of the noise and were jumpscared. As Cain had a frighteningly similar posture to Lucifer at this moment.

An extremely beautiful woman with curly blonde hair and a voluptuous figure blurted out "Big Brother?"

Cain mentally agreed that Gabriel was a bombshell. But due to her statement his dramatic entrance was wasted.

"Not your big brother. His son."

The angel with an appearance of a handsome-looking man with long blond hair and green eyes looked at Cain and said

"It's nice to meet you, Cain Lucifer. Leader of the devils."

"Same here, 'Uncle'."

Hearing that Michael had a twitch in his eyes. But continued but was slower than Uriel.

"Damn, Devil Scum. How dare you tarnish this sacred church"

And jumped towards Cain with his Holy Fire ignited in his hands.

Cain easily caught the hand, surprising everyone present except Michael and said

"I am hurt attacking your nephew at the first meeting, that doesn't suit an angel now does it."

"Uriel step back!"

Michael reprimanded Uriel. His strong glare then landed on Cain and he said

"And Lucifer, care to explain why you did a ritual here?"

"You're no fun." He removed his grip on Uriel's hand and snapped his fingers.

That removed the ritual circle and cancelled the effects inside the church.

Seeing that now even Michael was confused.

Seeing that Cain spoke.

"I just wanted to talk."

Hearing that Raphael said

"Was there a need to hurt so many innocents for just a talk?"

"Well I can't come to the Vatican and ask for an audience now can i? Not to mention last time I visited, I killed the pope and I also can't barge into heaven."

Hearing that Uriel attacked Cain with twice the force and speed. Cain again caught it easily but was not smiling now.

The force from the blow decimated the church which was on its last legs.

"Really, didn't we have a truce just now?"

Cain said lighthearted but his eyes were not joking.

Michael and the other two angels were also surprised by that as Uriel, although had a short temper, didn't attack like this.

The twelve wings of Uriek were out, showing that he is serious. Seeing that Cain responded by showing his six pairs of wings and taking it to the air.

"I will kill you, Spawn of my incompetent brother."

"Really, although my father is not a great role model, he still was leagues above you."

Uriel ignored the taunt and launched the famed Holy Fire on Cain. The Holy Fire was countered by Darklight.

The waves of fire were failing to penetrate the shield of darklight. Seeing that damage to the people will be large, Michael erected a barrier over the city.

And then rushed in to stop Uriel but was unable to. But Cain was not forgiving. He looked over to the leader of heaven and said

"Don't blame me."

Cain rushed at Uriel, surprising the flame of god.

In a moment Uriel was punched in the face and was launched into the ruins of the church.

The landing was not smooth but Uriel was comparable to a Satan class devil. His output was number one in heaven.

The ruins burst into flames and an enormous amount of heat and light energy was released into the surroundings.

The energy was enough to shatter the barrier raised by Michael. Seeing that the other three archangels acted and created a separate dimension,as no barrier will hold two beings of that level.

Uriel on his own was capable of destroying a mid-sized country easily and even if Serafall or Grayfia were here, they would take him seriously.

But unfortunately for him, Cain was here. Someone who had no threat from him. As his bloodline gave him some amount of protection from holy attacks.

"Is this a power flexing contest?"

Saying so, Cain also started to power up. His demonic energy dwarfed the holy energy.

He didn't give any time to Uriel for attacking back and dive bombed him, with his legs.

The speed was too much for a Uriel who was distracted by the strength of Cain, and thus he was struck down to the ground with Cain standing on his back.

Cain didn't stop there and then started pulling at the wings. It was the most painful thing for a devil, angel or a fallen angel.

But before he could proceed. Michael put a light sword at Cain's neck.

"Are you sure about this?"

Michael felt a cold feeling on his neck. A darklight scythe was resting on his neck. In that split second, Cain was able to use one of his hands to summon it.

"He is my brother. I will fight for him."

Michael said regardless. Behind him both Gabriel and Raphael were also ready with their attacks.

"Do you think you four can win against me?"

"No, I doubt we can even fight Thor, but we are ready to die here."

"Make sure he doesn't act like a rabid dog. I am here to talk. I would appreciate it if you guys could be civil."

Cain then stepped away from Uriel and allowed for Michael to help him.

Sometime later the four angels and devil found themselves at a poorly run tavern. Which was empty, courtesy of Cain.

Uriel was glaring at him, Michael looked tense. Gabriel was pouting and Raphael was unhappy.

Looking at that Cain sighed and said

"Let's get to the main point immediately. I want all the evil souls currently going into heaven to be sent to Hell."

"What? Why should we do that?"

"Technically all the evil souls are for Hell while only the good souls are for heaven. And I am not asking that for free."

"What will you offer?"

Michael hearing that said in an almost relieved tone.

"Peace Treaty."

All the four archangels had their eyes bulging at that, well Gabriel was surprised at the taste of the food rather than Cain's offer.

"Why should we trust you? You were about to kill Uriel just now."

"He attacked first. Also do you really wish to deny me? Hell currently has four top ten beings. No matter how good the heavens system is, you will lose. Not to mention it wouldn't work completely against me. Also why was Uriel so angry at me?"

Michael started

"We are not denying you outright but we need time for this. Also how can you handle so many souls at once? As for Uriel, he stopped other angels from helping the Vatican as he knew that the pope was corrupt but now that he knows that a devil killed him, he is angry."

"Oh! And I have people ready for that, I got some gods for that."

Michael only raised his eyebrow at that.

"So how fast can you transfer the stuff?"

Cain questioned.

"Almost instantaneously, we will also be very happy. The amount of souls is too much, without our father to help. We will stop taking the evil souls and you can simply route them. But do you have something like the heavens system to do that?"

'The world tree alongwith Azrael's scythe should work just fine, not to mention Ereshkigal is used to this.'

"Yeah."

"Then we have a deal."

"Wait a second, Michael. Just like that?"

"Indeed Raphael. What can we do? In Fact this will help us more in the long run. I can control the system better with fewer souls to manage."

"And what about the Peace Treaty?" Uriel finally commented

"You have my word for it."

"Your word? Why should we trust that?"

"Trust my pride, then. And I have plans to rope in Azazel in this too. We can officially sign it when the time is favourable."

"Indeed. As of now there is no common ground for the three factions to come together. And the devils are too strong. We will work on this internally and when we have a common objective we will announce it."

"That works well with me. You can contact Azazel after I talk with him and make the preparations. I will have Serafall stay in contact with you."

"Sure. Also can I ask you to watch over Gabriel sometime?"

"Watch over? She is older than me."

Cain found himself being glared at by a very cute creature.

"You look more cute than scary, Gabriel."

"As you can see, she is not the smartest person around."

"Fine by me. I can certainly enjoy a date with a beautiful woman."

"I would be grateful if you didn't try to make her fall."

"Can she though?"

"Most probably not. How did you know?"

"Thought so! Book of Lucifer."

Now except Michael the other three angels were confused. But neither of the two cared to explain about this.

"So I will wait for the souls."

Saying so, Cain went away. Just as that happened.

Uriel and Raphael, who were silent throughout the entire deal, began to ask questions.

"Brother, why did you accept the deal with him, isn't it bad in our favour?"

"No, Raphael the correct question will be why did we even listen to him? We should have killed him."

At this Gabriel said

"You think even if we four fought him together we would win. You know Raphael even if I don't like to fight my empathy can tell me what a person is thinking in general. Cain wasn't even amused by the thought of us fighting him."

Uriel was looking with his mouth open at Gabriel, he didn't expect her to speak like that. But Raphael continued

"Even if we couldn't fight, we have the heavens system. We can simply use it to win."

"Why did you think he created a new dimension? The system is removed out of the equation from that. Even if we wait for them to come out it doesn't work well on transcendent beings. And he is a Lucifer, Big Brother had more control than me, and Cain has his book. I do not want to take any chances as of now."

"Even then aren't we just losing souls from this? How can he have something like the tree of life in Eden or the system?"

Raphael was really probing Michael

"He must have something on that level. Sometime ago the Mesopotamian pantheon was destroyed, so the dimensional core came from there along with Ereshkigal. Now that question is what is keeping the dimension stable? And honestly I don't want to know are keeping that big of a dimension stable."

At that both Uriel and Raphael were silent. After that they angels went back to Heaven to fulfil their part of the deal.

Finally Gabriel asked Michael

"Brother why did you ask him to look after me?"

"Well he seemed like a playboy from the rumours, so we can use you for turning his view on us. And you get to roam around a bit more. Honestly I don't want to do this, but as a leader I have to take the big picture into account."

"Don't worry brother! He is my nephew I can surely make him like the angels!"

"Don't Gabriel. If we lose him to you my heart won't be able to last!! You must act with caution!"

"Here's the siscon."

Raphael muttered and Uriel huffed at the antics.

Cain PoV

It had been surprisingly easy for me to get the souls from Heaven. Too easy in fact, I may be paranoid but Michael doesn't seem like the kind to trick someone.

I remember him giving Issei, the Ascalon just because of the Peace Treaty, so I also offered him peace in exchange for the souls.

I will probably delay the Treaty till cannon anyways.
